I came down here to get something to eat.  It's a nice place but the girl who was doing the cooking and also tending bar was going nuts.  And no help from management either.  I ordered the "Big John" sandwich.  It came on two big pieces of bread with cheese, peppers, and tomatoes but no meat.  Well, "no" isn't accurate but it was pretty damn close.  And I guess I got there too early for the showgirls but I wasn't going to stick around.

What do people expect from this place? They expect every new joint to blow them and shower them with free shit for being new. This is a casual joint that is about the shows - that's what I got from everything before I ever stepped in.

A buddy an I popped in here on a Friday night - the decor must fit in different in the ambient lighting, as yes, it's kitschy. They had a belly dancer and a backup band. The bartender made us a hummus plate and serve us beer. The crowd was in to the dancer.

Will this be a go to bar? When they have performances, yeah. Not insanely loud. Intimate. The bartender was awesome-but I think they do need to figure out a better way to do the food. I can't imagine this place busy.

Will we come here for food? Only if we are here and hungry. It sounds cool, but food doesn't seem their forte. Stop comparing them to Betty's. they ain't. They also aren't trying to be.

    I'll be back.

I went here yesterday for the first time and I understand it's a new business so I'm going to cut them some slack on some things.

Either way, being honest, there are some things I like and others I don't. However, I do feel the place has a lot of potential.

First the location is pretty awesome. I wish this would've popped up when I lived in the neighborhood as I'd rather go get local coffee than corporate coffee.

Beer selection is good but no pricing and a lot of folks have to be mildly concerned about how much funds they have to play with so I'd suggest having a price list on the bar somewhere. I do agree with some other reviewers they need to work on happy hour pricing. A friend of mine and I went and $10 for two beers (granted they were craft but if I want craft beers, I can roll to Old Town Tavern where it's half off)!

Logo I'm not a fan of but that's because I'm a designer and I'm picky...but branding really matters when opening a new business. I've won two awards nationally for branding so I'm not trying to blow smoke.

It's a cute space overall and the exposed brick inside is lovely. Bartending staff was really cool and friendly. Patrons seemed cool too and had a lot of folks I've not seen in Cbus before (which is always good for a single gal like myself-*wink!). Parking is pretty easy to find.

Overall it has potential. I'll go back for food and coffee another time and then give an update. I think they just need to get time to get things going. As a business owner myself, I understand these things can be difficult to keep several balls in the air at once but once you get the hang of it, you'll be a juggler in no time. I think they just need to study surrounding competition and figure out, branding and otherwise, what they can do to really differentiate themselves. Uniqueness sells kids.

Maybe have do a Cbus Best PinUp Girl contest once a month then do a calendar at the end of the year? We'll see what happens with this place...
