One of the best cocktail  bars in Savannah. Live dj who spins vinyl records... def a must visit.... ask for any drink and the bartenders are happy to craft your beverage.

I heard from the art students that the service at this place was awful and the blonde bartender only serves hipsters, and got a nice taste of it.

My brother and I tried to order a drink and the bartender kept ignoring us and serving the be-fedora'd dweebs piling up around us. I waived my hands as a joke to get her attention after about 15 minutes of this, and she came over and went through an obviously time-wasting charade of checking our IDs and asking dumb questions about them with a stupid smirk on her face (you're a fucking bartender, quit being so narcissistic). Then ordered 4 beers (2 for friends), and she brought back 2.

I don't know, this place cracks me up. If you like to wear deep v's and dance to super-ironic 90s music with hair in your face, this is the place for that. If you just want to chill and have a beer without the childish attitude definitely go next door, that place is good.

I don't think I can express how great this place is. If you're into craft cocktails, the is THE place to go in savannah. I once went every night during a work trip... So GOOD! The food is unique as well. Stop by during happy hour for $6 cocktails!

The Sparetime seems to be the only game in town if you're looking for a fun bar that's tastefully designed and not a sports bar, family restaurant or dive.

The bar is on a corner and has glass walls on two sides which I think works better for diners and gives bars a feeling like the Hopper painting, Night Hawks. I think that people don't want to be observed by people who aren't partying when they're dancing. I have my own ideas about what good bar design is though and I could be wrong. No one there seemed to mind.

The DJ played disco, funk and soul and the bartenders were creative and beyond competent. If you're under 35 this is where you drink in Savannah.

This was our first stop in Savannah coming from Charleston, SC on our southern cities tour.  It was a quiet Saturday night, mainly because most of the students were home for the holidays.  We had the bar to ourselves and the bartender was a great host.

We started off with an Appaloosa (rye, cherry, cointreau, green chartreuse, and angostura bitters.  My girlfriend had the Clean Cool(Rum, Scotch, Cynar, Simple Syrup, and Angostura).  The appaloosa was sweeter than anticipated, but it was well-balanced.  I expected more kick from the rye, but it was smooth.  The Clean Cool was amazing however.  The scotch and rum gave it a nice smokey taste, while the rest help make it drinkable, finishing off with a nice kick.

The bartender gave us a complementary shot of Fernet Branca because it was the holidays.  In the corner of the the place there was also a Christmas Tree made from Fernet Branca bottles (awesome!).

I tried to redeem myself with another drink, since the first wasn't exactly what I was looking for (still good however).  After tasting my girlfriend's smokey drink, I wanted something like  that, so the bartender recommended a mezcal based drink that had great smokiness depth to it.  It was called a Triple Lindy and it was amazing.  Never knew single village mezcals would be so smokey, similar to a scotch.

Great experience overall and I hope to stop by again next time we're in town.

Love the concept, but I'll give this place a little more time to find its groove. The lighting was too bright after dark, and our server was pretty pushy (or... encouraging of people to go outside their comfort areas?). The cocktails looked great on the menu, but tasted muted and watered down. I like wine, though, and was pleasantly surprised that one of their only red options, a Syrah for $5, was very nice.

Fantastic, original drinks, great music and a chill, but hip, vibe.

If you are coming in here for a vodka and cranberry, you really owe it to yourself to open your heart to the menu that is before you. The numerous times I have been here have resulted in prompt, friendly, and creative service. Creativity is noted because you can simply mention a few drinks you like and if you ask nicely, they'll whip something up that could blow your mind.
My fiancee enjoys the West Side Jam and I have loved the Chocolate Mint Julep (the chocolate mint came from the bartenders garden! No foofy syrups here!) the Perfect Manhattan, and a refreshingly unique selection of craft beers (try the Bell's Two Hearted Ale). The Smoke & Lightening probably stands out as a personal favorite. It consists of one glass of neat Mezcal (an old world take on tequila, basically the smokiest non scotch around) and a glass of chilled Sangrita (not sangria but a home made blend of juices that sings with a superb balance of sweetness and tartness). Just sip back and forth and take it all in!
The food here is a complete stand out of Savannah. Don't get me wrong, I love a greeeesy pizza now and then. But when you're in the mood for something incredibly fresh and robust, try out one of their neapolitan style pizzas. The spring pizza with 3(?) different kinds of onions will certainly brighten your day, while pizza #2 (fiancee's favorite) is probably my favorite pizza I've had in a while. The pizza chef was trained in Brooklyn, and we couldn't be more happy that he made the jump down south. The pizza will take a few minutes to cook, but that gives you time to try out the (always) outstandingly fresh house pickled veggie selection that is seasoned with the utmost care and attention to flavors or just keep sipping on your beverage of choice.
This is a place to relax, to have the drink of your life (or at least your night!) and to talk. There aren't any TV's, which seperates this from most other bars around town and brings the focus back to the drinks and the company.
Be prepared to not know a lot of things that are on the drink menu, we had no idea what any of it was the first few times, but please ASK THE BARTENDER WHAT ANYTHING IS, they are aware that many menu items are new to Savannah and are more than willing to help you make a choice.
    See you there!

Loved this place. Ideal spot to have a well-mixed cocktail and socialize. Interesting selection of atypical beers. Well-edited and simple bar menu. Perfect balance of music and conversation . Great mix of people from all walks of life. Fabulous atmosphere. This will most definitely become a permanent stop on my regular weekend booze rotation.

4.5 stars for very creative and tasty cocktails. Window wrapped bar, so you can see people on the streets. Very open atmosphere with almost a Euro vibe to the decor (high tables with nifty stools, ikea like). Seriously, if you want an awesome and inventive drink, look no further. This place has it down!

    10 dollar drinks...

The crowd was totally mixed and everyone was having a great time here. You have your hippie, grunge, penny loafers, popped collar, full sleeved bad A's--eating a gourmet BEET SALAD next to me at the bar, which reminds me they have awesome food, from what I saw. I did not order any. And of course all the beautiful women dressed to the 9's.

My only setback was the staff. They were not making eye contact, so you couldn't get their attention. They were working hard, but were slow. Maybe the manager should hire another bartender for a Saturday night or get them to be more multi-tasking.

Amazing cocktails, great atmosphere, super friendly bartenders and great happy hour specials. One of my favorite accidental finds ever. The cocktail menu seems to change seasonally too which I thought was a nice touch.

The Sparetime is undeniably the best place to get old school cocktails in Savannah. The staff is attentive personal and friendly. While there you must get two signature cocktails "the last word" and the "Bombay". The last word is gin based with chartreuse and the Bombay is a vodka based cocktail with ginger beer and mint. Simply the best handmade cocktails I've experienced.

On this occasion we met the owner who was phenomenal conversation and shared a drink with us as her sister made us more cocktails from behind the bar. Fantastic music selection from bob marley remixes to a celebration of hipster delight. You must go and experience a real classic drink and a great experience .

A bar loaded with fresh ingredients and squeeze bottles is a good sign, friends.  After a splendid hour sipping gin with housemade tonic and sharing two of their pizzas, I am in love.  I have a habit of listening to vinyl and drinking classic cocktails anyway.  Now I can do both in a place much swankier than my living room.  Solid barstaff make it that much better.

You like delicious inventive cocktails made with love? You like a well curated selection of liquor, beer and wine? You love a bar with great atmosphere that's cool without being pretentious? How about fantastic music that selected from the owners/employees vinyl collection? The Sparetime is YOUR BAR! This is my favorite spot in Savannah. They have a light food menu and a great house cocktail menu with new drinks created and added all the time.
