FUN place, GREAT music, AWESOME service.
I've never really had a bad time at Spice. They play all types of music, predominately spanish, and the shows are entertaining. The food is nothing out of this world but I wouldn't really consider this a sit-down dinner place. You come here to drink, dance and watch a show. I rather come here than go to Mango's on Ocean (or any club in Miami, to be honest). Whenever we're celebrating a birthday (or anything really), THIS is our go-to spot.
If you don't like being around smokers, this is not the place for you. Ask for Yami. She was the BEST waitress - attentive and personable.
Fun place, but be weary that they include 18% gratuity on ALL checks, and don't tell you. You won't even get a receipt with cash transactions. :/ So although I felt like tipping 5 on 15 was gracious, it was extra gracious because I was really tipping 7 on 13.....
Bartender Ruben was great, except for his lack of integrity mentioned above. Â There was a VERY rude server who demanded I ordered from him if I needed anything else after I ordered my first drink from the bar while sitting at the bar. Â We were meeting a friend there for her birthday, and they had a table. Â A few of our friends had drinks there, tons of them, that were on the server's tab for the table.
I didn't want to sit at the table. I wanted to do my social butterfly thing, not sit at a table. Â Do not walk up to me and tell me I HAVE to order from you. Â
Buddy-Please put the hair gel down after you have squeezed out a dime size amount next time.. the whole bottle in your hair really doesn't look good. Oh, and the whole popped up collar thing isn't cute either..and yeah.. you are not cute, unlike most of your co-workers, so now your bad attitude makes sense. Â
I had Chicken Quesadillas, they were really delicious. Â Crisp vegetables, moist and tasty chicken..served with fresh guacamole, pico and sour cream. Â I must say I did not expect much, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Smoking-People were allowed to smoke in there, I am not a fan of cigarette smoke.
Drinks were reasonably priced.
Entertainment was unique. I can't quite explain to you all the different things I saw in the couple of hours we were there.
The crowd was mixed.. young and old. Mostly hispanic and Jersey Shore.
I am not a fan of Downtown Hollywood, there are so many other options nearby... Â but if you happen to be stuck down there for a night, it's worth checking out.
I have a love/hate relationship with this bar/club.
Pros: Very fun atmosphere, all types of spanish (danceable) music. They have choreographed shows every couple of minutes (male and female dancers on the bar, flame throwers, indian/african style male dancing, etc). 60% Live music.
Cons: Very pricey both the drinks and the food. Although they do serve you quite a bit of food. There is always a cover unless you get there while the sun is still up. The staff can very rude at times. Bartenders sometimes ignore you. It's kind of small, you will bump into the next table while trying to go to the dance floor/bathroom. I also had one experience where the waitress brought the wrong drinks three times in a row and then failed to bring another one...
Parking: Park by the tracks. It's free and nearby.
The crowd tends to be more in the 30s-50s range (primarily toward the higher part of the range it seems), there's usually a cover of some sort and drinks and food are the usual south Florida overpriced prices, but drinks are strong at least. The music is decent, some of the dancers are good- some nights are better than others. I mostly hate how small this place is- sitting at a table, you're often literally up against the person at the other tables chair, or you're on the side getting ran into by people trying to get by.
Review Source:My fiancé and I went here after a night of already clubbing for some late night food.  That turned into more drinks of delicious Mojitios, Salsa dancing, and more fun than we had at the club.  And this place was right down the stairs of our hotel.
We weren't aware that Florida nightlife lasted so long. Â 3 am and the kitchen is still open, the bar is still pouring, and the music is still keeping people on the dance floor. Â
I'm A-ok with that.
I work nearby and just wanted to go somewhere for the end of the Heat game. This was the first place we walked by that had the game on so this is where we stayed... Oops!
My girlfriend and I sat at a table and while looking over the drink menu, servers just kept walking by with no acknowledgement.  So after that kept up we moved to the bar when a couple seats opened up.  Even with 4+ bartenders on, it took us a while to get a drink since most of the bartenders had their backs turned to their guests and watching the game. I get that you want to watch it too but you are working after all.
Finally we get to order drinks. My gf ordered a dirty martini which after one sip she pushed it away and said that it was awful. I ordered a captain Morgan black and coke. The only bright spot to this visit was the martinis were free for ladies. However my drink was $11.25?! The drink menu was advertising their dozen or so martinis for $7. How is any sort of Captain Morgan over $10?! So I ask what the regular Captain Morgan goes for and the bartender says $7.  Really?! An almost 60% increase in price?! I wouldn't have had such a big problem if my receipt didn't say that I was charged for a Cap't Morgan double. I ask why it was rung up like that and the bartender said that what I ordered had not been inputted into their computer system yet.  So I then ask for justification on the hefty price increase and got "I don't make the prices" and she walked away.  Absolutely atrocious customer service!
Awful experience from start to finish!!
Im a fan, if your a tourist, check it out. They have dancers on the busy nights, like sat or fri i think. and ive seen them do crazy fire tricks and brazilian capoeria dancing, the staff are hott. the bartenders are the same people dancing on the bartops and singing on stage, its total entreprenurial stuff, they do it all, The live band is heavily cuban influenced and damn they sound gooooood...You can be anything u want at spice, Promote ur own business in the name of sexy and mingle lol Crowd is ok.. a lil boojee, i think some people think there on a yacht in miami drinking fancy stuff.. but i suppose that could be anywhere..yeaaa :)
Sergio F said it best, browards version of miamis very own mangos!
Prices are average, smoking allowed, down the street from a pizza place :p
For me it's way too touristic, way too Latino, way too crowded and loud. Drinks are flavored with all possible chemicals, I don't think they are using real juice, some awful colored soda.
For one tome visit it was ok, dancing girls and all, but again if you like Latin music, which I'm not a big fan. To  top that all, they couldn't find my credit card when it was time to pay.
For some reason they wanted me to remember a bartender that took my card. How could I remember, they all look the same to me, boobs and almost identical costumes. And also I didn't know it was my job to memorize a bartenders face. I don't know may be I m wrong but isn't it their job to be sure that my card is not lost and I wouldn't have to wait for half an hour until they find it.
When I said to hostess that they all look the same to me, she got mad at me, and kept repeating staring angrily at my face, no, they are not all the same.:)
O well sorry , I guess I'm not familiar with Latino ethics.
Last time I was here I did VIP and with a whole lotta alcohol in me I thought the place was great. Then again so every other place I have been while under the influence. Blame it on the aaaaalchohol.
This time i was sober....veeeeery sober and I was able to see a different side of the place. One heads-up, the people that gives this place 5 stars needs to go out more often.
It was a Friday night and walking into the place every table was occupied by groups of people that their combined ages would have taken you back to the dinosaur ages. Yes, very old people. In case you didn't get the joke. We proceeded to our table and were handed a menu. Its a bar/lounge so I was not expecting a big menu, and I was right. The menu is small but with the usual stuff appetizer, hamburgers, sandwiches, and you normal entrees of fish, meat or pasta. My food was the highlight of the night, not necessarily because it was great (it wasn't) but because of the intriguing combination. I had the Brazilian tilapia. This is a lighly battered tilapia fillet topped with shrimp in a tomato sauce. The tilapia seemed like it had been fried for a while as the crust was a bit hard and on the warm to cool side and the shrimp sauce lacked some flavor. This dish, prepared right and fresh, has to be delicious. I love cooking so I might make a version of it at home. I passed on dessert, strange for me, and left soon after.
As for the ambiance, not very impressed. The ladies are distracting but that's about it. If you look past that, some of them are not even in that good of shape. The music is just butchered versions of latin and english songs.
My entertainment for the night was the heat game and watching every old guy there drooling on the girls. Very funny!!!
Lemme upgrade ya, Imma upgrade yaaaa
Ok Spice. I have updated and upgraded you. I went here last Saturday night with one of my friends because we had spent the day talking about how we never dance latin music and we live in Latin America, read: Miami.
10 dollar cover. Good live band. Nice performances by the dancers. And they have updated their performances to keep it current. Now playing Ai se eu te pego, complete with pelvic thrusts.
The crowd was neither young, nor seasoned. An even mix of couples and singles ready to mingle. The nice thing was that I got to dance a lot and the guys were pretty respectful. Asked me and my friend to dance in the proper fashion. Extended a hand instead of sneaking up behind you.
We had a great time. And they made me the perfect mojito! Muddled just right and not made with Sprite!
I would give this place 5 stars except for parking is a hassle and you do have to pay cover, which is always a sad face in my book.
We were visiting from L.A. just a few weeks ago and while in Miami, we wanted to go dance. But we weren't looking for your typical dance club. We wanted something more. Spice came highly recommended by a Miami local, after I had asked about Latin music clubs in the area. We couldn't be more pleased with the suggestion. I want to thank the lady that sent us here. It's a great lounge with live music, dj and even the bartenders perform with their own dance numbers for the crowds. Very cool! The drinks were amazing and very reasonably priced. The appetizers were also delicious. Overall, a must visit when in Miami. If you like dancing to Salsa, Merengue and any other latin music, this place will make you happy.
Review Source:My friends and I had heard good reviews about this place from other people that we know, so we assumed that we were going to have a great time... Unfortunately this place did not live up to our expectations.
When we arrived we sat down at our "reserved" table and ordered drinks. We waited about 10 minutes and the waitress brought us someone else's order, so we then had to wait another 10 minutes for the correct one. Then we ordered the "gran picada" appetizer, which consisted of beef and chicken skewers, yucca, and empanadas. It was a bit pricey at $30, but it was my favorite part of the night.
We then sat around for about an hour waiting for the dancers to come out. The music was primarily Latin, which was disappointing because we were told that there would be a mix of Latin and reggaeton. The best performance of the night was the male "fire dancer", who twirled around bowls and swords full of flames, but all the other dances seemed repetitive.
Word of advice: Do not order water. They only serve bottled water at $4 a pop, definitely not worth it!
Broward's version of Mango's right down to the hot dancers, blaring Reggaeton and drinks.
I stopped by after the outdoor concert at Young Circle with a group of friends after a wandering through Hollywood Blvd, and were attracted by the loud music (and my eyes by one of the scantily clad dancers :) The hostess was able to put together a couple of tables for our group. You're given a bottle for iced tea (which I had) and a glass, and one of my friends' mojitos was nicely presented with an umbrella in the glass. Although they had a full menu, we mostly noshed on appetizers. My choice were the wings with mango BBQ sauce. A generous portion of about 10 wings, the wings had plenty of meat on them and thoroughly marinated by the sweet, slightly sticky sauce.
The food's gourmet bar food, but the main attraction here are the dancers. These are very talented ladies that probably spend a large amount of the gym and certainly the definition of eye candy. They do double duty as waitressing and are actually very pleasant.
Oh, yeah they have dancers for the ladies (no I'm not one of them :)
Been going to Spice for years. It's been a great night 95% of the time! Great Latin music, entertaining mini shows, gorgeous employees. Drinks could be stronger and better made, but okay. Overall a nice place to dance the night away and have fun with your friends. I can not speak about the food since its been a few years since I have eaten there but my overall impression/memory was that it was yummy.
Review Source:Went with my wife to check it out due to some cool references.
Its looked like a great place already due to the awesome live band that was playing and also a nice selection of modern tracks from the DJ . The intermission side shows with the  bartender/models/dancers wasn't bad at all with the different rhythms they dance to. only thing that was not a plus was the space on the dance floor. TOO CROWDED .........but i enjoyed my time there most of all with my wife.
I used to live 5min away from Spice. I've been there plenty of times over the years.
I LOVE IT!
I love the whole show they put up. The dancing, the fire, the everything! Every time someone comes to visit I take them there, and they love it. The brazilian/latin flavor it has to it it's perfect.
The music is A++++ the DJ and the Band.. The drinks are good. VIP is not too expensive.
YES IT GETS CROWDED!!! So crowded sometimes you can't even walk! Thats why I recommend VIP.
It has good food too, and its pretty good. It can get pricey so watch out!
I was there Halloween weekend and honestly it was a blast. Â Everyone was dressed up and the music was amazing. Â It was a mix of live music and a DJ, most of the music was Latin. Â It's not a very big place, I can see how it can get crowded but this night was perfect. Â Thier entertainment was good, some of the dancers were fantastic and others a little cheesy but all great fun.
It's in a great location and there is a parking garage close by with plenty of room. Â I'd definately go back, but hate that it's so far away from me.
music was pretty good but the dance floor was too crowded with people just standing there.
the dancers were good...some HOT looking male dancers...the female dancers looked a lil too fake though and looked like they came out of a lingerie catalog.
overall had a good time...I recommend the Banana Mojito and the Lemon Drop shot. Â Rico!
The music is aimed more for the latinos. The food was surprisingly good. I hate the fact that it is a small place and it gets extremely crowded. It is very entertaining if you like that scene, not to mention if you are married like I am, the hubby loved seeing a lot of ass shaking going on here, but don't worry ladies, their is a lot for us too. They have many different shows that are crowd pleasers. Get their early if you want to catch a bite, because the later it gets the more impossible it gets to even move your elbows around. Also the valet can take a while and finding parking in the downtown hollywood area is almost impossible.
Review Source:iv been there twice once in vip and the other not....my review is based souly on vip because if not it would def be three or below ;0)
the vip section is elevated from the dance floor so u have a great view (for the most part) of all the dancing acts and singing acts that are performed threwout the night....the music is quite spectacular and everyone that works there is def. great to stare at ;0)
the service is on target...they are checking tables every few min. the servers make sure that everyones having a good time and encourage drinking and dancing (which coming from attractive people is never a bad thing)
it might not be one of those places id become a regular at only because the crowed (depending on the night) can be a lil "special" (catch up to my thinking...its a latin club in hollywood...::rolls my eyes::...crickets) and the prices are quite "friendly"...good thing is once your done with this ambiance your able to walk outside and choose from 324958 other places to check out.....
overall the vip section did provide an amazing night for my friends and i and we all got cool little shiny rings! woot!
this is a nice place, but i would reccommend it if you like spanish music and only that. the whole night they played spanish music and nothing else. i wasn't aware of this, because they played keysha's song "tik tok" before we got in. i did not know how to dance to the music, so i just danced bachata to every song that came on, whether it be salsa, merengue, etc. it is also an older crowd as well. if you're looking to have a good time and dance to spanish music this is the place to be. if you want something else, there are other bars and pubs around downtown hollywood. i would have rather been at the karaoke bar across, and down the street.
Review Source:Have been coming here for sometime now. I have had many birthday parties and they were all very FUN!! Just a few things they charge everyone to get in. Even if you have a table reservation and you're buying bottles. Also, the last time i was there I was up in their "VIP" area and it was great until they let this huge group of people in, I mean we were packed in soo tight I left shortly after. I figured if we spend the extra $$ on a Bottle thrn we are paying for some elbow room. Too bad that wasn't the case..Still all in all its a fun place very entertaining. Ladies don't bring your man if you're the jealous type!! Lots of EYE CANDY :)
Review Source:Drinks are cheap.$10 Cover charge ... live music is OK - not spectacular - just OK. Crowd is mediocre ... dancing bartenders not my thing... specially when most of the chicks look like they are entering first phase of hormone therapy -yikes! With the exception of one gorgeous hunk... nothing really remarkable to report ... I'd rather go to the Hard-Rock. Crowd was alright - if all you want to do is dance to Spanish music - this is the place for you.
