The worst service! Â We waited for about 10 minutes and didn't see a server anywhere on the floor. Â Even my oh so tolerant nephew decided we should head over to another burger shack! Â Which we did and got served immediately.
Even if we did order something from the scarce bar food menu, I was concerned about not getting and follow up service if needed. Walk. Away.
Apparently I have a lot of friends who are alcoholics and have dragged me into this place for happy hour and drinks.
I have probably eaten here over 5 times which is 5 too many. Â Each time I have tried to find something different that I might like. Â Just like Bono said in one of the best songs of all time, "...I still have not found what I am looking for..."
Or maybe I just need to find new friends...
I have driven by Sports Page for years wondering what the heck it was. Â It's on far end of the stripmall that hosts both Bucks Unpainted Furniture and Mandarin Kitchen but, being blocked by Leroy's on the SW corner of 90th and Lyndale. Â it's a divey sports bar with about 10+ flat panels. Â The prices are great burger and fry's $4, they have Moose Drool on tap. Â I have never attended Karokee night but, have it on the list of things to do. Â Good for people watching, fun eating at the bar talking with the regulars. Â I told them they need a big sign 'Sportspage Bar & Grill'. Â On my last visit I was given a check for 1 moose drool and 1 burger, I pointed out that I had 2 and he said 'well I am only counted one and I am only going to charge you for one and that's my best offer'. Â Big tip. Â It's a dive, I live close-by cheap & quick food, entertaining people.
Review Source:OK sports bar. We tend to go for lunch on Friday . It's your standard sports bar with darts, pull tabs and pool.
They serve basic bar food. The burgers are distinctly average but the hot roast beef is good. Just don't order it with cheese this is one case where adding cheese does not make it better.
The service has always been good so no complaints there. Worth a look if you are in the area.
Don't waste your time.
HORRIBLE service. Â I love myself a good dive bar (that's all I'll go to) but this place is a dive bar with downtown prices. Â $10.50 for a pitcher of beer. Â $5.50 rail drinks.
Oh wait, you're asking, "but what about happy hour?" Â Go a head and take $0.50 off each drink (and that's pushing it).
Don't even think about ordering food, because they'll look at you like, "Oh, you want me to get that for you?" Â Once you get the food, it's worse than bar food (if that's possible).
I can think of 932 other "dive" bars I'd rather go to.
Sports Page is easy to overlook as you drive by it, but that doesn't mean you should. Â I have been there for lunch many times and in the evening a few times with friends. Â They have a simple bar menu. Â Their burgers are good and cheap. Â I like their fries too. Â Appetizers are good and plentiful. Â They have daily specials for lunch that are worth trying. Â Space is ample in the bar so you can always find seating and large groups are easily accommodated. Â They have plenty of televisions so you can watch the game. Â Their beer list is decent. Â I have always been very happy with the service I have gotten. Â It is friendly, quick and attentive. Â
Finally, if you are not in the mood for a beer, they also carry 1919 Root Beer on tap! Â They serve it in frosty mugs and you get one refill.
I'm not sure that our experience even qualifies for a one star, but since the only part of our meal that was decent were cheese curds, it will have to do.
I have dined at this venue a few times before they remodeled and was always pleased with the food quality, service, etc. Â Post remodel their prices have gone up and the food quality down. Â Based on our experience they either switched chefs or food distributors.
The burger was sub par- in-line with what you would expect at McDonalds- coupled with the poorly cooked grease saturated limp/ Â burnt fries; McDonalds would have been a better meal. Â Don't expect dipping sauces to be included.... while nominal, it was extra for a tiny tub of marinara for the cheese curds and it was extra for cheese on a CA burger (which I have never heard of). Â Lastly, the service was terrible... no "how is everything," no checking back in, no coming by to refill drinks. Â Unfortunately, we will not be going back.
