I've eaten at the Stained Glass 3 times and each time the food was good but overrated and overpriced. Â Personally, I found the staff to be condescending. Â There are much better places to eat if you're looking for fine dining. Â If someone else is paying go ahead and enjoy but I much prefer Chef's Station even though the decor and ambiance is not as "hip" as Stained Glass. Â Food is good, don't get me wrong but nothing memorable. Â I did like that you could get wine flights. Â I'd go back if someone invited me but wouldn't pick it on my own.
Review Source:I think I love this place. It was last fall in 2012 when I visited this place with friend. I forgot what we had ordered already but all I remember was we had a great time, nice food generous portions, nice dessert, good wine. Don't come in if you want noises with people laughing out loud every table, this is not a place for that, but quiet and classy. I would definitely come back soon.
Review Source:The Stained Glass is named because its a wine bar/bistro. I wish they had extended the moniker to it's theme. Maybe Tiffany lamp fixtures or colorful jewel tones in the decor. The atmosphere, though classy, seemed a bit average and sterile. I also felt the tables were too close together. Decent enough for a date or friendly outing it wasn't that cozy or inviting. And not that sexy or romantic.
The service was average.
I ordered 2 starters as my entree- the Butter Lettuce Salad with Kalamata olives, carmelized walnuts, and feta cheese.
A total disappointment. I actually don't even know why I ordered it.
And the Foie Gras BLT with seared foie, applewood smoked bacon, white truffle mayonnaise, and micro greens on brioche. Â It also comes with cherry tomatoes which I omitted. And a little pile of fries, which I could take or leave. I am a fan of foie and bacon so liked the rich sammie.
My dining partner got the Scottish Salmon with panisse, broccoli, chickpeas, and Meyer lemon preserves. He really seemed to enjoy it.
They have an interesting and tidy wine list with unique flights. Since my table mate is a teetoler we skipped the libations.
The menu has a few intriguing options, so I would try it again. But wasn't wowed by the atmosphere and my choices for my first time.
