I've recently discovered Haitian cuisine and this place is a must visit. I ordered the kreyol poulet (creole chicken). It came with rice and peas, a delicious sauce, and a fried plantain called banane peze which was to die for. The food was very authentic like you were at someone's home.

My boyfriend ordered the griot  de dinde, which is fried turkey, and that was very juicy and flavorful too. So if you are anywhere near this area, you should stop by for the food and the wonderful service. I can't wait to go back!

    First the bad:
Literally, half the lights were burnt out.  We actually walked past twice looking for Sweet Nick's thinking that it would look like an open restaurant.
It looked like we were the only customers that day.
The place looks weird... There are Obama posters for sale.  Cd's for sale.  A single computer in the corner.  It doesn't look like a serious restaurant, but more like an Ebay shop that happens to serve food too.
They were out of a few things even though the menu was really small (half page of options).
My fried pork was over cooked.

    The meh:
The Jamaican patty was really dry, like it had been there for a day or 2, but had a good flavor.
The waiter/cook/owner didn't bring us any sauce until I was about half way done.  The sauce was good though.

    The good:
My girlfriend's fried turkey was really really good.

From the previous reviews and our fried turkey I'm really sure at one point this place was amazing!  But I think this place is going out of business now.  It's kinda a shame to say, but I'd skip it.

Hunger and a strong hankering for jerk chicken clouded our judgment as we walked in at 10:20 PM despite being fully aware that the restaurant closes at 10:30 PM (how rude!). Quickly we realized that Sweet Nick's serves islandic food, but not from the Jamaican islands. This Haitian joint was such a pleasant entrée into the country's cuisine. If you're not familiar with Haitian cuisine, it's rich in flavor and spice and everything nice.

We ordered the Griot de dinde or fried marinated turkey served with a heaping amount of flavorful rice and beans and fried plantain to-go. They served us without complaint and with a smile. The dish was served with this great sauce, a spicy slaw, and a thousand island dressing for the side salad. All for the right price!

In the car we decided to "taste" it, but by the time we got home it was half gone it was so good!
