Station is a little bar that's pretty easy to miss, across from the Convention Center with parking out back. It's got an urban vibe, complete with a huge graffiti piece on one of the walls and sleek black benches and bar stools. It's got a lot of different events going on any given night of the week from live music to comedy, even my friend's poetry roast and book signing one night. Drinks are  fairly priced and they always have something on special when there's not a happy hour. I still need to check out their free karaoke/happy hour. Overall, it's a great intimate spot to unwind and have a few with friends.
Review Source:Station is a cozy and intimate bar/lounge located on Kapiolani across from the Convention Center and 7Eleven. Â Parking is a bit of a struggle, but my new strategy has been to get a street stall up the street, around Don Quijote - it's been pretty easy.
The bartenders are extremely friendly and typically have my drink ready for me before I even ask for it! Â The drinks are CHEAP! Â I'm a tequila person, and I'm always hard pressed to find a bar with more than Cuervo and Patron; with that said, there's a large selection of liquor (including tequila), and Station always brings in new beers to try out!
Having been a part of the Honolulu music scene for some time, every night I come to Station is like a reunion. Â The owners and operators have done a really great job garnering a community of musicians while instilling that "MY bar" feel to both new patrons and existing Honolulu art/music scene-members.
The default house music selection may not appeal to everyone, but if you give yourself over to the warm hospitality and the comfy/loungy couches, and acknowledge the bar's fun, twisted humor and nuanced characteristics, Station Bar & Lounge could be "YOUR bar" too.
Station Bar & Lounge is a great hang-out for young people looking to avoid Waikiki and Chinatown.
Bartenders are friendly and professional. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is good variety. My favorite there is Kraken and Coke; dark rum fans will enjoy it.
This place seems perfect for college crowd. Â Open mics for musicians and comedy are regular events. Cover is usually free. There is no food, not even pupus. but there are several places to eat within walking distances.
I am so tired of the loud and overcrowded bars of Waikiki and Chinatown! If you are too there is hope! Â A friend of mine told me about Station Bar & Lounge so we decided to check it out on Sunday night. Â
The windows are dark so you may need to pay attention if your looking for it. Â Once you walk in you already get a relaxed feel that I've never felt before in a local bar. Â The place is lit with black lights and the mural on the wall just pops out at you. Â Its clean plus the seating is comfortable and spacious. Â The drinks are well priced and the selection is great.
There needs to be more establishments like this in Honolulu and its definetly worth a visit with you and your friends.
I came in here one night and found the place to be just okay. Â I really was not too impressed with the overall vibe to the place.
The place was much smaller than what I was expecting. Â I heard a lot of hype about the place and when I came in, I was rather disappointed. Â They did not have a very large selection of beer or alcohol. Â You can get your standards of course, but I think the place certainly needs to come up with a unique bar menu to identify itself from the other bars in the area.
The place does have a small stage area set up with some drums and acoustics. Â No one was playing that night and the bartender was playing their own choice in music which turned out to be some horrific stuff toward closing time. Â I am just not very partial to some guy screaming at that top of his lungs that I can't even understand!
I order a Heineken. Â I believe it was like $4 or $5. Â I also order a martini that was $5. Â The martini was okay, but I wasn't going to order another because it really did nothing for me.
I suppose I will give this place another try. Â Maybe they area still working things out and trying to find their place in the bar/lounge world.
Small, intimate but neat venue located across the Convention Center. Their performance area, which isn't really a stage is a bit cramped but has a nice graffiti piece, which to be honest, is quite unique. Not an expert but the acoustics in the room were okay, being that it feels like your playing in someone's living room full with couch ridden spectators. Â
Hard to judge the crowd that night, especially since I later found out they were friends of one of the bands we were lined up with (Asian cougars ooo'ing and ahh'ing after every song? MILFs? Either way, I love all "experienced" women who get into our band). Though I get the sense that their regulars are trendy (snobby?) Asian people who drive fast cars, maybe into Alternative music (or not)? No matter, on the recommended list for those looking for new and different venue to play in Honolulu.
Note for musicians: no loading zone in front but take advantage of the Qucksilver parking lot next door for the gear drop off (do NOT park there after hours, as you WILL get towed). May be a bit of crunch finding "free" parking but might I recommend Don Quijote? It's just a 5 minute walk. Also, bonus is that Station is located next to a mom/pop store, for that quick and cheap liquid courage before the long set.

Station Bar and Lounge in Kapiolani
My friends and I attending the soft opening for this place in the beginning of October. Â Cute little place but the only thing that sucked at the time was that they didn't have their air conditioning working, so it was really really hot. Â Walls painted black and indie bank playing Arcade Fire, AWESOME!!!!! Sooo nice to know that there is a place were I can actually go where its not dance club music and music that I enjoy and love to hear! Â Didn't have to pay for any drinks since my friends knew the owner. Â Small liquor store next door so you can buy cigarette LOL. Â Only one stall bathrooms for girls and boys that sucked a bit.
Review Source:I've been waiting for a bar like this all my life. Well, not ALL my life. But since I've been of local drinking age. It's a cozy little place tucked along a strip of stores before the gateway of Waikiki. I enjoy an intimate, dark room for me to comfortably enjoy a cocktail and this bar is exactly that.
The owners and operators of the bar are from Honolulu's rock scene and so rock musicians and their fans are majority of the clientele. Live band performances are not a rarity. As far as events go, the bar is very creative in themes, such as, Marvel vs Capcom beer pong, Gingerbread house making contests, etc.
The Station is a whiskey bar. Depending on the season, the bartenders will have whiskey-based seasonal cocktails. Two current ones that I remember are The Ladies Manhattan and Apple Smacks.
They don't have a kitchen but if you're hungry, you can order pizza from King's Pub and they don't take all that long to deliver. Same wait as if you ordered from a place like JJ Dolans.
By drinking at The Station, you are supporting a local business and local artists. Cheers!
Station officially opened last night, and it was a fun time. It's a cute little spot on Kapiolani across from the Convention Center with live rock/indie music and a mix of house and whatever else they feel like playing. Â Keep in mind that this is not a restaurant with waiter service, it's more of a hangout where most of the patrons know the owner, and they're still working some kinks out. Â But it has a lot of potential. Â The bartender has a great arsenal of mixed drinks, including this mango/vanilla shot similar to a lassi that I'm in love with. Â I've never enjoyed a shot so much! Â Parking is a bit of a problem, but I'm guessing they'll get that smoothed out soon. Â We parked in the $7 lot by Jazz Minds and walked over. Â Congrats on your opening, Station!
