  This place is the best!  Definitely get the veggie, which has just the right amount of sauce so it's flavorful but not soggy.  Plus, they put cashews on-- mmm!  If you go more than once they will remember your name and ask about your kids.  Seriously the best in town!!!

  Sub shop is the seal to my batman forever..the kenny loggins to my top gun shall we say...the homemade bread and quality meats gets mad shout outs..ethan is a cool dude too...cash only!

  Having lived in Springfield my whole life I kept hearing about the Sub Shop and it's greatness.  The short hours (only open for lunch) and the lack of a payment method other than cash kept me from trying it out, though.  Last week my sister picked some sandwiches up for us and I was very impressed.  As a vegetarian I've tasted the same bland veggie sandwich time and again and, quite honestly, I was expecting the same from the Sub Shop.  But this sandwich was above and beyond!  Loaded with cashews (yes, cashews!) and some lovely dressing that I couldn't quite identify, this veggie sub was the best yet.  If they had better hours and took debit cards I'd give them the 5 stars they so easily deserve.

  I grew up on these subs, and I still think they are some of the best I've ever had. It's not about the intricacies of the sandwich...they really aren't anything that special. Maybe it's the bread. The bread is so melt in your mouth yummy that it's impossible not to smile when you bite into it. Or the special sauce. The mix of dressing they put on the sandwiches is excellent. I'm a fighter pilot girl, myself, but there are many amazing subs here. The chocolate chip cookies at the counter are some of my favorites anywhere.
  
  I prefer this tiny little location because I've watched the family who owns it grow and change, but the bigger location downtown is very nice as well. Oh, and the tea. YUM.
  
  Looking for flights now just so I can go have a sub sandwich.
