The best thing about Swarthmore Pizza's is that their pizza's crust is thick, and the cheese gooey as anything. I love them, and they're as fresh as they come.
Contrary to many other reviews, I've only had good experiences here at Swarthmore Pizza. Most times I've come with friends were that when the restaurant was half or 3/4 full. I didn't think service suffered at all - out waiter stopped by every 5 minutes to check up on us. With that being said, I find their pizza to be pretty top-notch. Prices and variety are comparable to other nearby pizza establishments such as Renato Pizza, the now defunct Peace-a-Pizza, and Media's Pinocchio.
Really, really, REALLY lousy place to go for both eat-in and take-out service. It's such a shame the folks at Swarthmore Pizza have such distain and such little respect for their patrons. A sense of entitlement, believing that people should just show up and eat their food, regardless of the lack of quality Service and lack of quality eats is truly an unacceptable way to do business. Sad fact is the owners (and their children who work there) will read this review and say there's something wrong with the customers and not them. Crazy world we live in.
As a matter of reference, my husband has refused to go to this place for years due to the terrible attitude he's received from each employee, specifically the owner's children, and, interesting to note, he is not alone in observations. Numerous others in the local area we have chatted with feel the same.
I wanted to try the place just one more time, in hopes that something...anything... might have changed and found the same distasteful attitude and inferior service.
There are so many options when it comes to local restaurants; we suggest you just strike this one from your list.
So we are all aware, I did not even want to provide a one star rating but a rating is mandated by YELP.
