I came here a few years ago and was thinking it was the BEST RESTAURANT EVAAR. Â Coming back now, its still great and the quality of the food is amazing. Â My only suggestion would be if they offered a little more variety in the bakery section. Â We came twice on one vacation and both times they had the same exact offerings (cornbread, blueberry muffins and cranberry pumpkin muffins, I think.) plus focaccia bread and pizza. Â They might change it up pretty often and I just didn't see it, and again the quality is unbeatable for the price, especially with the salad bar, but that's my two cents. Â Great place for before or after a movie. Â GO!
Review Source:Price increased but the quality of food declined... Salads were fine but the soups have no flavor, and it's so water-down. Â Used to have 5 different kinds of pizza and now they only have 2. Â And they are lack of cheeses and were cut into tiny pieces....the best tasting item was the Coke I ordered.....
Review Source:I LOVE sweet tomatoes. My family and I eat here at least once a week. (Great place if your a soup & salad lover!) I've been to two different locations in the past month this location and the other being on Pines Blvd. This one hands down is the better one. It is smaller in space but not in selection and it has a more intimate feeling to it. The bus boys are always supplying napkins and clearing plates with a smile on their face. It can be a little pricey, but they do offer coupons on their website - They also offer a special Monday - Wednesday $19.99 two adultstwo children (no coupon needed)
Review Source:went for lunch with a co-worker and it seems i never have a good experience at Sweet Tomatos...the only thing i like about it really is the strawberry muffins. Mediocure food thats mass produced for the hundreds of people that go in and out all day. A bit over priced for lunch was $12.00, i wouldn't recommend unless with a large group of people.
Review Source:I have been looking for a place like this for a long time. After my Sunday morning 3 mile run, I know I will frequently stop here for a nutritious and reasonably priced meal. I have been coming to the Home Depot in this mall for years, and I had no idea what I was missing. I still have not tried their soups, and pasta is not the best buffet food as it gets too soft when overcooked. But when it comes to their salad bar, I am already a fan. Yes it could have more variety, but it does have the important things.
Review Source:Nice short walk from La Quinta.
Great option for quick, fast and fresh food.
They have an amazing caesar salad mixture which is really tasty. Lots of great toppings and the premium ones for 2.49 extra( edamame, tofu, chicken) which I opted out of. There are plenty of other good options less the extra charge.
People delivering warm mini chocolate chip cookies.
This one is a little more chaotic than the Il locations we've been to, but still good, fast clean and reasonable,
The cups for pop are ginormous.
I'm not going to lie but I love my local Sweet Tomatoes. It's like my neighborhood Cheers where "everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came". Seriously, Â they've fed me through two pregnancies and have continued to feed my ever-growing children delicious, fresh vegetables, hearty soups, Â and yummy pastas.
To be honest, although the salad bar is always fresh and delicious, the REAL reason to go to Sweet Tomatoes are the soups. Â They are amazing! Â They are made from scratch (and if they aren't they sure taste like they are!) from the freshest ingredients and even on the hottest of days here in South Florida, I crave their hearty goodness. Â My favorites are the Cream of Mushroom, Shrimp Bisque, and the Miso Broth that you can add your own goodies to, to make something yummy. Â Ok, who am I kidding, I love all of their soups, and you'll be hard pressed to find one that isn't delicious. Â You'll regularly see me carrying two or three bowls of different soups while I am there. Â The kids love them too and that, as always, is the best.
I've visited other Sweet Tomatoes in the area and they have the same food, but strangely, they're not as "good". Â Maybe it's the staff or the familiarity of my place, but I will swear by my local ST. Â Sign up for Club Veg and you get weekly coupons and a free meal on your birthday!
Yes, they also serve breakfast on Sundays, but I would recommend you skip it. Â They're best for soups and salads. Not eggs and biscuits.
All in all, though, a great place for everyone!
Pros: They have a lot of good, healthy food and it's quick if you're in a rush. The items on the salad bar looked like they were good quality. There are good options for kids and the price is reasonable for what you get, especially for South Florida.
Cons: The selection is decent but not great and the premium items on the salad bar don't seem worth the extra money.
I'll be going back when I'm in the neighborhood.
This is probably the best salad bar in the entire Miami/Ft Lauderdale area.
The food is extremely fresh, high quality, delicious and would easily cost $30+ at Miami area restaurants....in other words, it's a tremendous value...all for approximately $10.
Highlights include their bread bar (endless muffin and some healthier options as well)
Soups are also very good. They have delicious chili and their chicken noodle soup is amazing.
Great pit stop on the way to FLL to get a hearty meal before your flight.
Sweet Tomatoes is the perfect place for a decent lunch where just about anyone with dietary restrictions can find something to eat.
Plain spinach, chick peas, carrots, jicama, butternut squash, beets, peas, peppers, cabbage, sunflower seeds, dressings, oils and other toppings for salad. Half a dozen soups, baked plain and sweet potatoes and decent muffins to aide in your digestive experience.
This location is slightly more crowded than past ST establishments and a bit dingy. But when you're looking for a restaurant with a little something for everyone, Sweet Tomatoes comes through. Print those coupons on-line ahead of time!
Sweet tomatoes is great... this location is pretty good. Â It is a smaller and older version of the locations I have been to in the past. Â If you like salads (especially with a lot of random toppings) this is the salad bar for you. Â Even if you don't like salad they have lots as well including soups, pizza, and pastas.
Review Source:Great value as far as I am concerned. Their balsamic vinaigrette blend is the secret ingredient that keeps me returning! Oh, the little square, chocolate chip (homemade) brownie-bready things are the bees knees!
Their chili is to die for too, and it is all you can eat! Gotta love that many fresh veggies and bottomless salad, pasta, bread, chili, soup, and mac-n-cheese for around 9 bucks. Love it!
Sweet Tomatoes
I probably wouldn't have gone to this place on my own. A friend of mine had a coupon $19.99 for two adults and two children. All you can eat salad and more; perfect. The staff is really nice, but you don't really need them. You are literally on your own which I think is a good thing.  My brother had a great time; we typically don't go to buffets so this was a completely new experience for him.
This place is great for vegetarians like me. Even better for kids, it forces them to make healthier choices which are always great. However, nothing blew me away. I had the Broccoli and Cheese Soup, it was ok nothing out of this world. The salad was salad, again nothing out of this world. I live pretty far from this location; I probably wouldn't take the drive up to Broward again for it. If I was in the neighborhood with a bunch a kids I could see myself stopping by.
I like this place for fresh salads if you're looking for a casual lunch or a really casual dinner. They also have some good soup and baked goods in case you're not really in the dieting mood. The selection of food is pretty versatile, so you're bound to find something for everyone. Even has pasta and mac and cheese for the kids, so you can't go wrong.
It's pretty much self-service. Cafeteria style, nothing fancy, but it gets you fed fast, so that's a plus. No alcohol, just soft drinks and tea, so booze hounds may want to reconsider. Great step up from fast food, though, especially with some healthy options. It's a casual setting and it's better for a quick meal with the kids rather than for a date. I'd go there again, depending on the occasion.
The salad bar had a good variety of salads. The Caesar salad and potato salad were deelish! Be aware of the melon slices (I guess that's what they're called.). They're thinly sliced. My daughter mistook them for cheese.
I like the salad bar being up front which makes the kids get some veggies without me having to say something to them. If it were up to my son, he would live on just carbs and sugar. :-) My kids weren't impressed with the Mac 'n Cheese but they said it was better than Kraft .
Moroccan lentil and garbanzo bean soup is very good. I also highly recommend the multi-grain bread. The strawberry and chocolate mousse is tasty but a little too sweet.
Overall experience was very good. Great customer service and good food. The cashier was very nice and all smiles. We paid $56 for five people. All you can. Not a bad deal.
If you are on a diet, Sweet Tomatoes is really not the place for you unless you have incredible will power to avoid the freshly baked muffins (blueberry, chocolate chip / peanut butter) or warm Forcaccia bread. The bread is delicious, even without butter (which we couldn't find anywhere). The salad line at the beginning is really a bait and switch. I doubt anyone could eat at Sweet Tomatoes and just eat Salad. It is an All You Can Eat Buffet with unlimited amounts of baked potatoes (with the works including bacon), Macaroni and Cheese, Pasta Alfredo and for dessert, chocolate / vanilla soft ice cream with hot fudge or carmel sauce.
We stopped in on the way to Fort Lauderdale Airport to drop a family member off at the airport. Sweet Tomatoes was the only non-Fast Food Restaurant we could  be in and out in less than one hour.
When navigating your way to the hot food area, you need to weave through the small crowds of people carrying their plates of food. Most of them are not cognizant of anyone around them as they gawk at the food.
The Napkins are only located near the cashier so don't forget to grab a handful. When we were in line, a guy reached between The W and me to grab a few, I almost gave him a tray full of salad which he rightfully deserved.
There is plenty of parking in the Oakwood Mall lot.
Where was this place when I was broke? oh that's right- it was there, I just didn't know about it. And even though (thank god!) I'm no longer broke, I'm still going back. I walked into this place thinking "what has my guy gotten me into." I saw a long line of green (that would be the salad..) and other tidbits (those would be the toppings), and instantly got a little scared. I mean I'm a vegetarian but I prefer a little variation in my meals. I thought "great, it's just a big salad bar"..but as I kept moving along I was surprised by all the various toppings I definitely don't have sitting around my house when I want a salad. Then I was surprised to see that at the end of the long salad bar, just past the register to pay (which amounts to little over $20 for 2), there was more food. Yay! There were an assortment of delicious breads, muffins, treats, and soups. They even have soft serve with hot fudge so you can make your own sundae. I was impressed. We sat to eat. The place is nothing fancy, but they keep it clean. We ate. Almost everything was really good, a couple things were just o.k. (like the mac'n'cheese). We left. There are people who walk around and take your dishes and clean up for you.. it would be nice to leave these ladies a tip (maybe not a huuuge tip, but something)- we saw the couple next to us leave her $1. Anyways it was the end of the night so they gave us a bag of their baked daily cookieson our way out which probably buttered me up a bit but overall I really like this place. Nowadays fast food costs 10-15 for two, why not come here for $20. It's a lot healthier and really fresh. Try not to let the fact it's buffet style stop you from at least trying it.
Review Source:I am not a rabbit but, they do have real food here too! so when, I get dragged her by my girlfriend I just say yes dear and go!! the set up is a liitle strange (school cafeteria) and they have somebody come by and clean tables, but mostly those people just hang out and talk! they are not members of the A TEAM!! ( that is not unique to this place) it is good for once every two-three months!!
Review Source:For a fellow vegetarian this is obviously a wonderful place to eat. I have been here about 7 times.  They have so many fresh veggies & also great ready to go mixed  salads to choose from.  Their flat breads & pastries are always good.
The best part to me about this place is their awesome vegetarian soups... I could just eat that alone!!!! Â Top it off at the end of the meal with some frozen yogurt with chocolate syrup, nuts on top... so good :)
The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is #1, Â they are not open in south Miami (whyyy!!!!!!??????) Â & Â #2 I went to eat the breakfast & I was a bit disappointed. There wasn't lots of breakfast fare options as I thought for a buffet... They still had salad, soups?!?? Made no sense.
Please come to miami sweet tomatoes!!!
Your devoted veggie client,
Moni B.
While I most likely wouldn't choose to eat here often (I have salads a few times per week, but I don't know if I'd really want to got to an all you can eat salad place when dining out very often as there are too many other, more exciting options) this place is quite good for what it is.
For about $10 per person, depending on what you have to drink, you get access to a huge, all you can eat salad bar, a few prepared salads, about 10 varieties of soups, a bakery with different types of breads and muffins, a pasta station with a few sauces (including mac and cheese and a red sauce with meatballs for the meat lovers out there) and a smaller desert section (typically Jello, mousse, pudding and cookies or brownies).
They also have a breakfast buffet on Sundays from 9 - noon in addition to their usual offerings
Do know that, depending on when / what time of day you come here, you may feel that you're stuck in a scene from the movie "Geriatric Park".
It's a decent pit stop if you are into the all you can eat salad bar. I wouldn't touch their carb section, it looks like a heart attack waiting to happen, but they have amazing spicy vegetarian chili, and the spinach is fresh. All I'm saying is that it's not as scary as the Chinese Super Buffet. But, I can make chili at home.
Review Source:Awesome place! One of the few buffets where my husband can eat his fill as a vegetarian. (Vegans take note- you can't eat the breads or muffins here, cause they have eggs in em, and many of the dressings and desserts have milk. But hey, full salad bar and at least ONE of the soups is dedicated to a veggie- friendly option!) Fills you up at a decent price (like 13 bucks with soda...cause I cannot live without my diet coke). LIke others have mentioned, the veggies are always fresh and tasty. Kinda far from me, being a Homesteadian and all, but we like to take lil "road trips" to our favorite places:)
Review Source:A soup-salad buffet. Â The salad bar was fresh and had good options (love that they had jicama) and the pre-made salads were tasty. Â I liked the Chicken Wonton Happiness salad, yum. Â I only tried one kind of soup and it was tasty, not too salty as I had feared. Â A good inexpensive lunch choice. Â I'd go back.
Review Source:This place is not fancy, but I love the plentiful fresh salad & homemade soup options. Â If you're in the mood for a custom and yummy salad (one of my favorite things to eat), then this is the place for you. Â My husband also enjoys the sweet potato bar, homemade focaccia bread, Â and soft-serve ice cream. Â Plus, I joined their e-mail club & they send us coupons a few times a month.
Review Source:This place isn't bad but it's not my favorite. I work near by so I end up here sometimes. The salad bar isn't bad. Everything is fresh and nothing ever looks like it's been sitting too long. Once you pass the salad bear there are fresh pizza breads which are my favorite and around seven kinds of soup. There are also pasta dishes and fresh baked muffins. There is also a dessert bar with ice cream and toppings. I really like their Asian chicken salad and the strawberry lemonade. The prices are good but this place is nothing special, I wouldn't go out of my way.
Review Source:One of my favorite things since moving down here from NJ is Sweet Tomatoes. It's a buffet style, all-you-can-eat salad & soup restaurant and all for under $10 per person. It may not sound very exciting but it's really great. Not only do they have great soups and salads but there's a bakery where they make fresh bread & muffins and a dessert bar which includes ice cream, fruit and pudding. They keep things new by having a new soup or salad every month. If you log onto their website and sign up to be on their mailing list they'll keep you updated as well as send you a coupon for a free dinner on your birthday. If you want a healthy alternative, try this place.
