I love Sweet Waters! Â Their food and service is consistantly great. Â We live in Westfield and whenever we have guests come to visit, it's our go to place. Â We almost always celebrate special occasions here too. Â
Jeff the host somehow always remembers my name and always helps us pick out a great bottle of wine.
The bread is so good I have trouble resisting a second piece. Â It's warm and crusty and soft in the middle and they always have soft butter on the table ready to go!Perfect.
I've never had a problem with the steaks here. Â Cooked perfectly and I love their steak sauce. Â It shocks me to see any negative reviews!
I have probably been here ten times over the years and never disappointed.
I'm really surprised by all the negative reviews about this place. Â I went here for the first time with 6 other guys for our recurring steak night and had a delicious, great time. To begin, the staff was very courteous, allowing us to enjoy our pre-dinner drinks without pressuring us to order and move on. Â We shared the slab bacon app, which was on-point delicious. Â Probably the best thick-cut steakhouse bacon I've had. Â I didn't really care for the waitering of our dinner rolls, though. Â Would have been nice just to have a basket with the fresh bread (which was very tasty, btw). Â Â I got the aged sirloin topped with mushrooms and onions. Â It was served at a perfect med-rare, while the veggies + baked sweet potato were also cooked perfectly. Â I haven't had a sirloin like this in a while. Â It was savory....almost buttery. Perfectly trimmed, with not too much gristle. Â My friends all enjoyed their dishes (the cowboy cut looked to be the big hit). Â Â The night conclude with some coffee and conversation. Â Again, we were not pressured to head out once we were finished. Â Â The only thing keeping this from a 5 star performance were the prices - the steaks, sides ($5 a piece), and drinks ($6+) Â were a little over priced for suburban NJ. Â Maybe you could get away with this in NYC. Â I really like the atmosphere of this place as well, not too classy or too casual.
Review Source:We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation. The owners asked us if we would like a table that several others had refused to sit at. Hesitantly we agreed to look at it. I expected a table next to a kitchen or bathroom. Pleasantly surprised it was just a normal table by Boston standards. In fact I have sat at much smaller in many Boston and NYC restaurants. Â We were also pleasantly surprised when our waiter told us our first drinks were on the house! Â Our food was very tasty. I would agree, however, that the steak was cooked about a grade higher than I ordered (medium came out definitely medium well). Â My boyfriend ordered the sea scallops which were really quite good. Â I also enjoyed my cherry mojito and glass of moscato. Â Both owners also checked on us and asked if we were comfortable. Â They told us 3 others had refused the table! Â This I can't understand, but maybe NJ restaurants are larger than Mass ones? Â Overall we are definitely planning on returning the next time we are in Westfield. Â I will just order my steak medium rare!
