Another longstanding Italian restaurant in downtown Westfield. Same thought every time I go there: Decent food, passable decor, passable service, but I'm in no rush to go back. Maybe if the furnishings were warmer and the service staff was a little more engaged with customers. I had one very good meal at Brick Oven a year ago when a regular (very regular) customer took me there and we got plenty of attention. Funny how that works.
The outside dining in summer is limited by the depth of the sidewalk and the slight slant to the sidewalk. (If only the town turned Quimby Street into a pedestrian plaza.) On the plus side, as with many other restaurants in a town with just five or six liquor licenses, you can bring your own bottles of wine or beer.
If you haven't tried Brick Oven once, do it. The food is decent, Then go back a second time and decide how soon you want to go back for your third visit. The people who say the service staff is friendly, I'll buy that. It just didn't click for me. And yes, there actually is a brick oven.
Went on New Years Eve with a big group. Â This was a repeat of last years New Years Eve. Â The food was good and the service was good. Â But, the restaurant charged about $5 extra for each salad, appetizer and entre. Â And this was after indicating to the individual who made the reservation that it would be the regularly priced menu. Â It most definitely was not. Â It was annoying. Â But, the staff did work hard and at least the food was good.
Review Source:I have been eating here quite frequently for about a year and a half now and I've never been disappointed. The service is great and the good is always fresh and excellent. Very great flavor and its not the sit in your stomach like a pit type of fare. The pizzas are light as crisp and pastas very unique and all the right balances of cheeses, proteins and pasta.
It's a Byob and the prices are good. I always bring friends here  when they are in town or simply enjoy a night out with my husband. I also love the soups and the fresh bread they Bring to the table. You could easily be satisfied with sharing one pizza one pasta and a bottle of vino.
