A small, unassuming Chinese joint with 5 items on the menu: Â Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Pork, Teriyaki Beef and a couple others that I can't remember off the top of my head. Â I don't blame people for quickly dismissing this place: Â the O Bar and Grill next door gets far more business, and the ridiculously nice cars the rich, international UO students drive around the area do more than just pull attention away from this hole in the wall. Â I don't mean to come off as bitter/jealous/envious or anything, because that's simply not the case, but sometimes I wish my daddy loved me enough to buy me a Porsche for getting into college...
What most people don't notice is the whiteboard mounted to the left side of the main menu, with twenty-some odd dishes scribbled in Chinese and faint, red dry-erase marker. Â Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. Â If you can't read Chinese, the couple running the place are more than happy to translate or make suggestions on what to order (I can also suggest the blindfolded pointer finger trick). Â Or just order the fried rice if you want to go with a safe bet. Â In any case, the place was a pleasant surprise, and the food is top notch as far as Eugene is concerned (with Chinese food). Â Just make sure you take your order to go; the dining utensils aren't always cleaned very well.
