Tasty handcut steaks, sweet butter rolls, and corn-meal breaded catfish with funky mustard sauce. This place is a win.
Only drawback: it's LOUD. May science help you if you're unlucky enough to be seated near a birthday person, because those waitresses come equipped with lung capacity.
Texas Roadhouse is kind of an MSG paradise. Just a warning to those of you with sensitivities to MSG - I get terrible migraines from the stuff. I went here with my husband and his aunt a little while back. When I asked the waiter if their food had MSG in it, he said "Oh no, I don't think so." We asked him to check with the cook and he came back and said "Oh yeah, it's in everything except the baked potato, the sweet potato, and the steamed vegetables." So I had a baked potato, a sweet potato, and steamed vegetables for dinner.
MSG is used with low quality meet to trick your brain into thinking it tastes better. I'm probably pretty glad I didn't get the steak then, even if I wasn't sensitive to MSG. Then again, when you see how low their prices are, you should probably be thinking, "How is it that they can make the prices this low?"
This our favorite local steakhouse. It bumped Kelsey's down a notch or two. The pricing is very reasonable, service is fast and pleasant, and the food is very tasty. I recommend the ribeye.
BIG TIP - Call ahead and reserve a table at busy times. You'll walk in and be seated within 5 minutes. It spares the wait, eating peanuts out of a barrel. Oh, and you don't have to like country music to appreciate this place. Hope your dining experience is great.
They had me @ honey cinnamon butter on fresh baked rolls. As a first timer, I didn't really know what to expect. I had driven past too many times to count and the lot was always full, so I decided to give the Texas Roadhouse a try. I was not disappointed in the Dyer location. A few things to note, DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY & DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT IF LOUD COUNTRY MUSIC AND A RAMBUNCTIOUS CROWD IS NOT YOUR CUP 'O TEA... As you can see, I had catfish and a baked sweet potato and chili. They were all delicious. I enjoyed every minute, including the country line dancing. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and location. It's your usual Texas style grub at a reasonable price, and it actually tastes great. Enjoy!
Review Source:Very good food. Â When my boyfriend and I went there, we were a little worried because it seemed like it was exactly like Texas Corral, especially with the peanuts, but we were wrong. Â The food was not very expensive, we got great service even though they were packed, and the food was great. Â We will definitely be going back!!
Review Source:I really enjoy this place. Â It is typically always crowded, but if you don't mind the noise, it is not bothersome. Â The service is consistently above average, and the food is good for a chain steakhouse. Â The complimentary rolls and made-on-site butter are wonderful. Â Varied menu, chicken, steak, sandwiches, decent kid's menu, and a very good selection of side dishes and appetizers. Â They do not serve soup, instead they serve chili which is above average for a restaurant chili. Â There is the Amarillo Roadhouse which is one town over, and closer to my home, however I pass it up for Texas Roadhouse.
Might I add, every item on the menu (even the combination platters) are under $20.
