    Food Only Review

The Tilted Kilt has a location off of the 9th street light rail station, so me and my party decided to get food here. We decided to get potato skins and irish nachos for appetizers, and for my main course I decided to get the Braveheart Chopped Salad (comprised of lettuce, turkey, bacon, and mozzarella cheese). So the potato skins were nothing really special. The irish nachos were not up to my standards for irish nachos. Traditionally irish nachos should be sliced potatoes covered in cheese, scallions, and bacon. The tilted kilt had potato chips with fake bacon. The salad was fresh, but the portions can be a bit smaller than usual.

The tilted kilt has plenty on tap, and also specialize in their shakers (cocktails in mason jars). I had the sailor punch. The drink had sailor jerrys rum, orange three olives vodka, lime sour, sprite, and some peach puree. The drink looked really good on the menu, but looked kinda blah when it came out. It tasted alright, a little light on the alcohol in general.

The main attraction for this eatery are the hooter like girls that attend to you. Push up bras, short kilts, high socks. There are very cute girls, but the food doesn't make up for it. My recommendation: If you want better food, go to hooters. Cool looking place to go to if you just want a drink.

First and foremost, you can forget trying to find parking on the Hoboken side, seeing that the spots around the area are reserved for residents, which means you need a particular permit just to park there. Instead, you're better off driving to the Heights in Jersey City and take the elevator all the way down to the street level.

So what can I say about Tilted Kilt except that it's like Hooters, but the girls working there wear Irish Kilt skirts and blouses that show off their stomachs. Some can argue that it might look trashy, but hey, it's all about the food and experience.

We sat and ate at the bar, but sad to say, it was a little bit dirty with leftover pint glasses - though, to be fair, it seemed as though they were understaffed for the night. The restaurant boasts an open design, which means that you can see into the kitchen area from anywhere inside of the restaurant. Also, there's a long beer hall like table near the bar which seems to accommodate larger parties.

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. However, it took forever (probably 20 minutes) for them to make and serve it. Needless to say, it's excessively long for a relatively easy meal to cook, but like as I've said, they seemed understaffed for the night. Despite the long wait for the meal, I'm pleased to say that the sandwich was fresh and super tasty. It was cooked to perfection and the portioning was excellent. Better yet, the sweet potato fries had a good crisp to them and didn't have that typical over friend appearance - so it was just perfect every way I looked at it.

Sure, I had to endure a long wait, but the taste and quality of the food surely made up for it. And heck yes, I'd definitely come back to check this place out - not to mention that it's an ideal place for watching sporting events and whatnot.
