This place is fantastic. The outside doesn't do the inside justice. Inside there is a bar area and then a main dining area where they have live music. The atmosphere is cool and chic without being overbearing or snot-nosed if that makes any sense.
They also have a fantastic selection of Scotchs and Bourbons. Angel's Envy for me....yum. As for food the fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño slaw (i think), was amazing. It reminded me of the Honor Bar's (Beverly Hills, CA) chicken sandwich. The chicken was a generous portion and fried perfectly, the tender and sweet flavor mixed really well with the spicy slaw that accompanied it. I really don't remember much about the dinner except my Bourbon and my sammy, but I know I will be back for more, much more.
Popped in last night on the final leg of a bar crawl. Â We sat at the bar and I was lucky enough to try the rum cocktail. Â They have a cocktail for each spirit ... Rum, gin, bourbon, vodka...you get the idea. Â Finally my hunger got the best of me and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits appetizer. Â I've been seeing it pop up on menus lately, but it was the first time I've tried it. Â I asked the bartender how hot it was, and he described it well as more of a creole spice. Â It was really flavorful, beautifully presented and each element of the dish was cooked to perfection! Â Plus it was a very generous portion for an app, and actually served as my dinner. Â The bartender was great, friendly and skilled. Â When we thanked him he even invoked the name of the place by saying a sincere "Any Time". Â I'll be back, some Time soon :)
Review Source:One of my favorite spots in Philadelphia.
Good drinks/beers, always live music, and a great overall vibe and decor. I used to be a regular at the Monday night open mics (purely as a spectator!!!) and every week it reminded me again of why I fell in love with Philadelphia. Â I heard that they got rid of these nights, which would make me drop a star or two. Â The crowd on Mondays was diverse, not bro-ish, and chill - just lovers of jazz, neosoul, r&b, etc, with a bunch of really talented people getting up to perform and jam.
The food is also pretty good - only eaten there a couple times, but definitely enjoyed what I got!
I was expecting good things from Time, but I left after one drink, during happy hour no less. Â That is a very odd occurrence for me on a Friday afternoon. Â
I don't like the split concept, the two hostesses couldn't have been more airy and clueless, and the bar crew was acting like Time stood still. Â The specials aren't as good as they look, and the crowd was a strange mix. Â
One part hipster + one part financial guys after work + a few canoodling couples and a lot of empty seats = get me the hell out of here.
My aunt and uncle have been raving about Time for months, so it was about time to try it out!
We went on a Saturday night and the place was already packed. Thank goodness we made reservations!
We started off in the bar for a quick cocktail (virgin for me, please) and right away we fell in love. The bartender was filled with great knowledge on whiskey, scotch, and bourbon. He allowed us to sniff and savor a few new ones, too. From there, we headed to our table near the live music. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was so helpful, especially to us newbies.
I had the smoked chicken on the black pepper waffle. To. Die. For. My aunt had the lobster mac and cheese - rich and succulent. My uncle had the duck - rich, elegant, filled with tasty love. I truly forget what my husband had - oops!
For dessert, we had a black pepper biscuit with vanilla ice cream and strawberry rhubarb jam. I do NOT like strawberries and that dessert was gone. That should tell you how good it is.
We'll be back, Time!
I've been coming to Time for about 5 years now and I feel it's been pretty consistent. They frequently tweak the dinner menu which is never a bad thing.
The jazz bar is always good if you want something more chill when drinking or eating. I enjoy this area during dinner especially when there's a live band!
Sports bar is also pretty good. There's a jukebox and a couple of tv screens that play local sports games. A few booths, mostly high tables and bar stools. I prefer to sit at the bar. Gets pretty crowded.
Lastly, the upstairs. What's not to love about the upstairs aside from it reeking of body odor. Depending on the dj, the hip hop is usually good. There are only two bartenders so the service gets pretty slow when it's crazy packed. Couches are a nice touch for lounging.
Note: free before 10pm. $5 cover charge.
For a night out, Time is just okay. Â The perturbing $5 cover is justified by the live music downstairs - which you have to secure a seat early to best enjoy. Â
Upstairs is alright. Â Dancing doesn't start until 11:30pm, but there are ample vintage couches for lounging until it begins. Â
Alas, upon my most recent visit, the DJ was definitely enjoying his music more than the guests on the floor. Â He was mashing up 90s hip hop with some dub-steppy vibes and it just wasn't working. Â After 30 min of trying to groove, we left. Â
Unless you are privy to live music and a swanky-dark scene, I recommend saving your $5 for a drink elsewhere where you can dance for free (National Mechanics, Raven Lounge, Noche).
Time is a really neat bar. Came here with a friend who was visiting from out of town and we were both impressed. It's not your average, run-of-the-mill bar in Philadelphia --or anywhere, for that matter. There are candles on every table, and everything is laid out with a very turn-of-the-century feel. I almost felt like I was on a set from Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
There was a live band playing jazz music, and we sat close to them at the bar so the music was a nice touch. Drinks are generously sized as well.
The scene of the crime: my first date with E. November 17, 2009. There was an absinthe promotion in the jazz lounge, with $5 gin and absinthe drinks and a gypsy jazz band with cabaret dancers.
This was my idea- a bit risque for a first date, perhaps, but I'm nothing if not bold. The band was really excellent and we snagged a table right next to their staging area, so we got to chat with them a bit. The Absinthe Drinkers, they were called. Their cabaret ladies were lovely as well!
Over the years I have come back here so many times, and for so many reasons. There are three different areas to suit any crowd or mood- a nice, dark and cozy bar to the right with super friendly bartenders, and extensive drink list including great beer, wine, and cocktails. Literally something to suit anyone. To the left, a swanky, romantic jazz lounge that frequently features live music, and fancy silver spouts that will pour you a traditional French-style absinthe drink  you could probably only find in a handful of places in the whole country.
Upstairs, that's where things get dirty. Like, bachelorette night/fistpump to the music/drink your face off on cheap beer kind of dirty. It's an awesomely fun time when that's what you're game for.
So as a result I've been here with my aunt and her out-of-towner therapist friends here for a conference, with E many times (dinner included, great food!), consoling a friend after a breakup with dancing and champagne, and just meeting up with people for drinks. It basically hits all the right spots and doesn't leave anyone behind. What more could you ask for?
It was the best of Time(s), it was the worst of times.  It was the age of sobriety, it was the age of too many, it was the epoch of bourbon, it was the epoch of seltzer water, it was the season of asparagus, it was not the season of tomatoes, it was the Spring of the Phillies, it was the Winter of the Phillies, we had Yelp before us, we had Zagat behind us, we were all going direct to the Yelpy awards, we were all going direct the other way (until Vinny pulled out his google maps)--in short, the  period was so far like the present period, except that we were dressed in '20's garb, and that some of the coolest Yelpers insisted on being at the pre-party at Time, for good or evil, in the superlative degree of awesomeness.
Oh, and Time is a really nifty whiskey bar.
Time is pretty great, to all of those bars that seem to have an identify crisis, look to Time. Â It has three bars within that are very different but all seem to work together. Â There is a formal bar, a more casual bar, and a dancey-club room upstairs. Â Each time I've come, I've wandered around each room and thought how well each of them worked. Â Its a loud bar, and often pretty packed, but in a good way. Â
The crowd seems to enjoy themselves and doesn't really take themselves too seriously. Â
The bars have always been easily accessable and I have been able to get a drink within seconds of stepping up to the bar, which is always a plus.
Time has 3 personalities - as you enter the front door and hang a right, there is a dark, comfy whiskey room. Always a great tap selection and shelves full of great liquors. They are also purveyors of absinthe. If you hang a left when you come in, there's a more formal dining area where live jazz plays about every night. The bartenders and waitresses are very, very attentive and helpful if you are undecided about a meal or drink and they are all really cool people. (It's kind of a mandate with the hiring manager)
I've been going here for years, onacounta, it's practically across the street from our offices. The menu is pretty extensive and offers plenty of options to the carnivore and vegmasters alike. The burgers have received the accolades of all of my friends, so they must be great. (I'm a veg) I had the mac-n-cheese which is really tasty. Their pub grub is great as well, their fries and roasted beets are good starters if you're just hanging at the bar. Other raves from friends include the salmon and duck.
Great atmosphere. Great people. The staff have great nicknames that fit their personalities like Biscuit, Butters, Dynamite, etc.
Oh, the third personality shows up on the weekends. Go straight up the stairs after a substantial wait in line for some hot, sweaty dancing and drinking. Debauchery abounds.
Enjoy.
Went with a friend who lives in Philly and goes here often. Â The bartenders were awesome. So on top of it. The way a professional bartender should be. We had a delish absinthe drink with the entire spectacle- spoons, sugar, everything. And they band playing on the jazz side was unreal. This is a GREAT Philly hang out!
Review Source:Walked in to a crowded dark bar on a Friday night (the room on the right), the bartender flew over to us reached over the people at the bar to hand us a menu, I don't even know how he saw us, but he made us feel welcome instantly. Â We shouted two beers from the pretty impressive draught list (20 taps!) I have no clue how he even heard us. We went to try and find a seat and by the time we made our round a seat had opened up at the bar. I put my half drank beer on the bar and while I was taking my coat off the bartender swooped in and dumped my beer (he was too efficient for his own good!) he immediately realized what he had done and poured me a new full beer on the house, he even remembered what I was drinking. We asked a few questions about some other beers and he let us sample his recommendations and my boyfriend found a new favorite beer (and bartender man crush). We settled our tab and it appeared the beers were around $5/6 each which is pretty good for center city. As we were leaving I realized I had forgotten my scarf and ran back to the stools, again over comes super bartender with his LED flashlight to light up the area so I could find it!
Now you may think that this is normal bartender behavior, but after a pretty bad experience of being ignored all night at sampan, I'll praise it!
Time is a decent fallback spot in Center City when options are up in the air. Everyone should find something to like, mainly due to the arrangement of the space. Three bar spaces punctuate Time, 2 downstairs and 1 up. The room on your right upon entering reminds me of a classy sports/whiskey bar in its arrangement and ambiance (loud and boisterous, dark woods). The room on the left's atmosphere is more relaxed, akin to a jazz lounge. It's a chill space and my favorite of the three, but also the hardest to snag a seat. Finally, the loud upstairs fulfills the role of club with a dance floor, huge crowds, and epileptic lighting. Best avoided unless you want to dance and are into that sort of thing.
Time would be a solid four stars if not for the service and prices. Time advertises itself as a whisky bar, so I expect the waiters to give me something other than a comatose stare when I ask for a recommendation on a bourbon. I'm no expert on whisky, but I could've guided a patron through the long whisky list with more than a shoulder shrug. Also, everything is priced a few bucks more than it needs to be (except the beers, they have a respectable, reasonably priced tap list). There's no reason a Maker's Mark rocks should be above $10 at this type of joint, and I shouldn't have to pay cover (even if it's only $5) for the privilege of ordering it.
I can't comment on the food, but as far as bars in Center City go, you can do much worse than Time. You'll get the ambiance you want in one of the three rooms, but prepared to shell out a tidy sum for it.
A great place for late night dancing on friday and saturday nights! The upstairs area is always packed and the DJs always produce a mixture of old and new music that get your feet moving if they weren't already!
The downstairs live jazz area is also a great area for weekend nights depending on what mood you are in!
I have not yet had a chance to eat dinner here but will do so and repost in the near future!
I thought this place would be bumpin. Definitely jazz on the first floor. If you aren't feeling the trumpet playing, Head upstairs where you will encounter a sweaty mass of college age students living off of their parents income in Center City Philly. I was a bit disappointed it in the music I didn't recognize much of it at all it was a mix between house music and 80s. It was so crowded so you could not dance Even if you wanted to. Later in the night we did end up heading back downstairs and grabbing a corner booth it was nice to sit with five or so people and share a cocktail. Â If you're going to get a cocktail I would recommend the Moscow mule. Overall it was definitely nice to check out this place while I was visiting Philly for the weekend but I definitely don't have any plans of coming back to time anytime soon
Review Source:I've only been twice, both on Monday nights. Â There was not much of a crowd, the service was fast at the bar, but really the bar was only half full. Â
Ordered two apps off the menu just to try their food and it was ok, nothing I would come back and order again. Â I've been told that they get pretty crowded on the weekends with the drinking crowd and I've definatley seen a crowd outside and heard the music from time to time, so I believe this is more of a local drinking spot than a place to grab food.
A while ago I took someone special here for a celebratory dinner on a Friday night & it was packed, so it's a good thing I made a reservation. Â There are a few different rooms to Time, we were in the room with the main bar and a trio of loud musicians in the corner. Â It's super dark in here, so don't worry if you didn't have a chance to touch up your make-up - your date won't be able to tell. Â
We started with some fancy cocktails and the mac & cheese - so delicious. Â My date got the steak, which he reported as "good," and I went with the sausage platter (keep your snickering to yourself!), which was awesome and a ton of food - we took half of mine home and had it for breakfast the next morning. Â I also made us order the truffle balls, but these sounded better than they tasted - bland and fried. Â
Overall a good experience, but for a little over $100, I'll try one of the other dozens of fantastic restaurants that Philly has to offer before I dine here again. Â
Drinks, however, are certain to be had here soon.
We headed here after finding its Foobooz Top 50 restaurant, and weren't disappointed.
Without a doubt the best thing on that menu is the bone marrow. Oh my WORD the bone marrow! First of all it's covered in bacon jam. What!? My chicken sandwich was good, but my date's burger was insane. Oh boy, that thing was amazing.
The beer list was alright, but in Philadelphia every bar's beer list has something amazing on it. I appreciated that Happy Hour ran on Saturday too, saved me some money. My date loved their drink lists, especially the Presbyterian, and their whiskey selections. I heard live music somewhere, but it wasn't on the main bar which was kind of a drag.
Definitely a great place to try for dinner. I'm not sure how it would do as far as a night out for drinks, but the food is fantastic.
I think perhaps there was live music on the lower levels, but when I came here I was trapped on the top floor with the DJ (or maybe it was just a DJ type of night).  The music was akin to the stuff I listened to in middle school -- not necessarily a  bad thing though.  The dance floor was slow to be populated, but once it was it was barely tolerable -- packed and overheated.  Again, not necessarily a bad thing if that's what you're looking for.
Not a place I would prioritize going to, but it'll do for a night when no other plans have come to fruition.
I've been to Time on a couple occasions and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to go! I've only eaten here once but the food is pretty good and there are some great food options on their happy hour menu in addition to drink specials.
I've also enjoyed the live music they've had when I was there.
The rest of this is more of a venting session about some people here:
My last trip was some what ruined by the annoying group of hipsters next to our table, though. Really it was just one specific girl with her big glasses, weird hat, and strange sweater who raved and raved about different food choices she was looking forward to then realizing it wasn't even the right place she was thinking of (only after complaining to the waiter who insisted none of that was ever here and he's been working there for 5 years). There was also a group of guys who joined them and one talked about how he was in med school and this and that and completely failed at getting it in with hipster girl's friend while hipster girl was totally lookin' for a boning.
Thank you for reading if you made it this far!
I really enjoyed my Time experience. Â We got there around 6 to get the happy hour deals and I was a bit disappointed that the dining room was so completely empty. Â A few more tables were filled while we were there, but it was still empty by the time we left. Â I guess people come for the club upstairs.
That said, the happy hour deals are awesome! Â The most delicious $5 mac and cheese with perfect BBQ pulled pork on top. Â We also got the happy hour onion rings, champagne cocktails, and moscow mules. Â All delicious.
We shared the mussels for our entree. Â They were good, but it was an odd way to do mussels - WAY too much parsley. Â They came with a huge plate of fries and the best hollandaise sauce EVER.
A quite talented (the singer's voice was perfect for jazz) 3-piece jazz band started playing at 6. Â Combined with the candlelight, it made for some lovely ambiance.
I love this place. Â The shots of Jameson are huge. Â Both upstairs and downstairs, while completely different, are so fun and always with diverse and plentiful crowds. Â The upstairs DJ is always awesome to listen to. Â Your best bet on a Friday/Saturday night on a budget is a $3.25 Miller High Life.
I will keep going back as it's truly one of Philadelphia's hottest night spots.
I have been here a few times and have been impressed with the layout and the music but never by the food. Â There were very few vegetarian things on the old menu and even less on the new one.
On this most recent trip, I ordered the acorn squash and my boyfriend ordered a beer, deviled eggs and the rabbit.
The service: Â The waiter repeated my order back and then my boyfriend ordered, they had a long discussion about the rabbit and then he repeated his order. Why am I telling you this? Well, because when it came time for the meal to come out, mine was nowhere to be found. The waiter told me this was my fault because clearly I should have made sure he repeated my order. Oh wait, he did. He said it would be out in five minutes, thirty minutes later my plate came out. When he realized his mistake, the waiter told us he would take a percentage off. Then he came back and said they would take off half my meal. Oh wow! Half! Â Seriously?! In the end it wasn't even half and I left a shitty tip for the shit service.
The food: Â I couldn't tell if the whipped tofu was even in the dish because all I could taste was the squash. Â The squash also had a tough skin still on it so boo on that. The anise stars were delish. The rabbit was greasy and there were only a few tiny pieces of it but my boyfriend said it was good for what it was.
Atmosphere: great bar, great jazz
Verdict: Â I won't go back here to eat. Ever. Drinks and jazz yes.
Ah Time, the place that is part whiskey bar, part jazz club/wine bar, part dance club? It sounds weird, but it's pretty damn fantastic. As in, I've pretty much enjoyed myself every single visit.
While the other sections serve their purpose well, my go to area is the whiskey bar. The best atmosphere in the house, in my opinion. it's got that darker, dingy bar feel with a pretty awesome whiskey selection. How did you guess that I love whiskey?
Happy hour specials are decent, with both food and drink specials. I think the prices in general are pretty standard for that area of the city. You can certainly get spendy with the absinthe selections, but uh.... it's worth it. I'll put it that way. Â
The small amount of food I've gotten here has been pretty good. The burger was spot on, the pulled pork mac and cheese made me excited, and the desserts that I tried were all really delicious with a side of Macallan 12 on the rocks.
Amongst the huge array of 13th and Sansom awesomeness, this place stands up well.
Well, i did not eat here, but hey, went there for drinks and music after my birthday dinner at Buddakan!
We were lucky enough to get in easily while there was a line out the door, and grab a table while the place was packed. It was my first time here, and so glad I had an amazing time. The live music, decent people and the fact that they are super generous with their shots of Jack, are a win-win in my book!
Definitely a refreshing change from the other places I have been to. Must-go. Liked the warm and cozy feeling it gave me, I can see myself going there a lot during the winter time.
Looooooove the atmosphere here!! Â If you love live jazz, you cannot miss this place. Â THey have live music every night of the week, and the ambiance is just fantastic. Â The food is pretty good, but a tad overpriced seeing that the selections are limited, and there's no "dining room", just high bar tables. Â Maybe a few tables over by the windows, but it's more of a lounge than a restaurant. Â The drinks are also a bit more expensive here than at some other area spots.
There is a "pub" side which has a totally different vibe from the jazz lounge, which is pretty cool if you feel like switching the vibe half way thru the night. Â You even have a third option, the "boom boom room" upstairs which is a dark nightclub playing the pop chart favorites. Â This place gets pretty crazy on Friday and Saturday nights.. and watch out for the back wall, dubbed by my friends and I as "the makeout wall" because inevitably there are more than one couple leaning against this wall, engaged in full face-eating sesh.
Basically.. this place has something for everyone, and is definitely a favorite go-to destination for my group of friends. Â Any night of the week you can find people hanging here!
If I said everything was good--I'd be lying, because it was excellent. Â I have to say it was one of the best meals I have ever had! Â Luckily I came with 4 other people so I got to try lots of food.
I started with a fun cosmo--"One Night Stand. Â I am a "foofoo" drink person and really loved the fun, sweetness of the drink. Â My friends had signature drinks including a Manhatten--all drinks received rave reviews.
Apps were AWESOME!! Â Loved the Fried Green Tomatoes--so crisp and the tomatoes sauce was tasty and perfect fit with the tomatoes. Another person in my party ordered the mac and cheese--I never would have gotten such a dish. Â Unfortunately, I ate most of the dish. The cheese was a variety, rich and creamy and was complemented with sweet barbequed pulled pork. The wings were succulent and with a slightly spicy sauce.
Next came the entrees--I had the ribs which the meat fell off the bone and again, the sauce was perfect sweet/spice flavor. Â The side was a creamed corn with fingerling potatoes. The linguine and rabbit, tender and filling. Two of our dinner had the lobster thermador--surrounded by a bean broth.Tender, sweet lobster--how can you not love lobster?! Â The buttermilk fried chicken was the last entree which was huge, tasty and loved. Â Unfortunately, my friend did not share, but it was for a reason!
Dessert included a bread pudding--best ever--with homemade ice cream. Â The chocolate mousse pie was sweet and the crust was a interesting sugar/maple cane crust. Â I don't even like chocolate mousse--but this one I loved. Â The maple sugar ice cream was also delicious and unique--felt like it should have been a Vermont product.
Service was 5 stars and attentive/ Â The live jazz and upbeat atmosphere was fun--felt like I was in the heart of NYC. Â
I strongly recommend Time!
I came here last night after having dinner at El Vez.
You walk in and the bouncer asks for your ID. Thats the first clue that you are going to have a good time.
Its dark and there small tables scattered around the floor and then there is a bar with about 10 stools or so scattered around it.
There was a band in the corner playing a funky jazzy tune and the patrons were all into it (this is the place where you go to see the music, not where you go and music just happens to be playing)
I didnt order anything to drink (Im fighting off a little cold) but my friend got a drink from the bar and said it was good (Im sure thats not that helpful at all).
We went on a Monday night and there was no cover which is great!
I hear that they have a reggae night too. I will def be back to check that out.
Can't comment on the food, but Time isn't bad on a Friday or Saturday night.
-Decent crowd that was a younger mix. Â Compared to several other places in the area, everyone seemed pretty normal and was friendly...I didn't witness any fights, ghetto people, etc., which was a nice change.
-Music and dancing were also quite good, and though it gets very crowded there was still plenty of room to dance/drunkenly embarrass oneself. Â
-Hit the bar downstairs, have a few drinks, then head upstairs. The shots are good size and you can get drinks quickly even when it's busy.
Oh, and the bouncer looks like T-Pain. Don't ask me how I even knew this...but do know that he will get upset with you if you repeatedly call him that while nagging him to let your friends in who show up late and are waiting in line outside.
4 stars for the music, 3 stars for the place. Time is a local venue in center city with live music. I enjoyed the bands that were playing when I went there last Tuesday to meet up with some friends.
It was open mic night and the band knew many styles of music. Some of the singers were just so so but it was great to sit and have an adult beverage and enjoy live music in Philly. Our town is in my humble opinion, not the greatest place to view live music. Sometimes being older like me and comparing it to the great venues of the past is a huge disadvantage.
I did not get to try any of the food because of the late hour. so I had drinks and they were a tad expensive to me. But I will return and try the food and listen to some more great music.
I came here once, on my birthday when I was already kind of intoxicated, then drank a bunch of those terribly wonderful absinthe/champagne things they have and yakked on my way home.
But from what I remember the place was really cool and some live jazz was involved at some point, so four stars for you.
Absinthe...check
Awesome Jazz Bands...check
Dancing Upstairs....check
Great place for a date....check
TIME...what can I say about you? Â You're always a good time (pardon the pun). Â I absolutely love this place. Â The Jazz bands they have are pretty good. Â On the weekends, this place is very very hard to get into. Â 5$ cover and lines in Philly? Â Justified. Â
They have a lot of small plates (i wouldn't call it tapas) which were good. The Jazz room has a dreamlike ambiance. Â The crazy art they have behind the bar, coupled with Absinthe, make you feel like you're in a Van Gogh painting.
Upstairs on the weekends, they have a weird dance party. Â They play dubstep and random hip hop. Just when you think the place is going to explode into dance frenzy, the DJ kills the mood by playing an offbeat song. Â
The third room where it's just a bar, they have guest dj's aka the jookbox. Â The crowd is pretty hipster/yuppie+, so the beats they play are decent. Â
Sorry TIME....I'd give you five stars if the DJ knew how to read a crowd.
"Hello, I'm here for your balls and the one night stand," my friend and I joked while looking over the menu. My bad, we mean the Risotto Balls and the cocktail, One Night Stand.
Starting with the drink One Night Stand, it was mixed with Absolut ruby red, triple sec, sour, cranberry juice for $8. Delicious and two or three more of these would be a great way to start a Saturday night if you're in party-mode.
For an appetizer, the two of us munched on a cheese plate ($15). The cheese plate was overpriced, nearby competition typically serve more at that rate. We had 3 cheeses: a blue cheese, goat cheese and a ?hard cheese. Each one had suggested pairings: lemon for the goat cheese, dates for the blue cheese and toffee brittle for the hard (sorry! can't remember) cheese along with grapes, bread and apple slices. While we gabbed and ate our app, a jazz band set up (downstairs), played at noise level that was perfect if you want to still have a conversation. My friend really liked the blue cheese and said that the hard cheese tasted like a bandaid. I agreed that it wasn't appealing but with the toffee combination made it was much better.
We also shared our dinner: Fried Chicken Sandwich ($13) with house made bacon, jack cheese, fries and a side order of onion rings ($5). This was definately enough for us both. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was the better part of this plate---the chicken was moist, the bacon stood out and overall a good bite. The onion rings were in fair shape, fresh onion but the batter was overbearing and flaky. Overall, a 3 star for the food.
Our service was grizzly, at one point I wanted to just put my money on the table and hop out the nearby window. We waited, waited and then some more waiting went by. The table next to use arrived after us and had their check before we ever got our sandwich. Â
We weren't charged a cover but arrived at 8 pm.
