I wouldn't really call this Mexican food only thing it has Mexican is its wrapped in a tortilla and sub par salsas. I had to take it to go because the 10 seats they have were either being used or dirty. Staff was very unprofessional and texting in there phone the whole time while I waited to place my order. Furthermore, for the $$$ I rather go to moes or chipotle.

I couldn't wait to go here I usually eat Mexican 1-2 a week. I don't understand what everyone else is raving about. 1st this place is tiny! It seats around 12 people tops! If u want to get to the salsa bar forget it. People are standing and blocking it so it's hard to get to because there is one place only for them to place and pickup an order.
I ordered the bird (is the word) NOT! (8.25) for grilled chicken black beans , yellow rice, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo and guacamole . Oh and it comes with their chip they were greasy. Well I'm used to Mexican chains in Florida this was a big disappointment ! This burrito totally lacked flavor. It needed more garlic, more cilantro , more smokiness, something that would give it more flavor and pzazz!  and it was greasy to boot. My husband ordered the Mac Daddy(9.50) for steak, black beans, yellow rice, cheese , sour cream, pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole. Again, it lacked flavor even when adding the toppings bar to it., it still lacked creativity! What is with the plastic basket with wax paper in the bottom that they put ur burrito in? It is so messy. Once u put the salsa on ur burrito or next to it, the wax paper gets soggy and everything leaks thru. This is not a good idea to serve Mexican food in! Save ur money and head over to Chipotle  it's organic and flavorful and made in front of u,  or head to Moe's  if u want fast food type Mexican. Remember flavor is key , not greasiness !
The only positive was the staff, they were very friendly and nice, and the salsa bar. That's why i gave them 1 star.

I found the food mediocre, and I'm under the impression that the items on the menu are a hit or miss. My friend got the fish taco and I got the steak. Both seemed to be somewhat bland, which you can somewhat make up for with the condiments bar on the side. I also ordered the classic quesadilla (with steak), which was satisfying (not anything out of the ordinary). It's a solid place, especially for the price. If they tweaked their food just a tad and made their flavor a bit more unique, I feel like this place could takeoff (although it doesn't seem to be doing too bad as it is).

Yummy in my tummy! My fav is "the bird" and you have to get it WET! Amazing!!! A chicken burrito filled with rice, beans, guacamole heaven, and getting it wet means they drench your burrito in this savory sauce and drown it in cheese!!! Cardiac arrest in a plate but honestly it's absolutely worth it! Love this burrito so much I really have no yearning to try anything else on their menu lol!

I am in a minority, I know. Everyone loves this place. I don't. I thought their chips were dry and tasteless. The cheese had no flavor and everything just seemed bland to me. I would rather eat at Chipotle.

Good burritos in an area where they're tough to find. The Hang Five Shrimp and Big Easy are money.

When we moved to town, we were stoked to see a mom-and-pop burrito place around the corner.  Unfortunately, the meat didn't have much flavor.  I ate at Tito's twice and the same result - no sabor!   Sorry, but I'll stick with Q'doba at the Short Hills mall.

I know Ppl love this place but I've been 2 or 3 times and always thought the food was kinda bland. Nothing horrible, nothing greasy , just kinda blandly mediocre. Tinga in Millburn and Westfield are much better, IMO

This is one of those places I would describe as good enough, better than Chipolte, but not something I am going to rave about.

If I am going to a matinee movie  in Summit or feeling spectacularly lazy on a Friday night Tito's is one of the three places my fiance and I will go to grab dinner.  The burrittos are generally pretty good and my fiance likes their shrimp tacos.  The service is fast, we tend to call our orders in so we just go for pick ups and avoid the tiny seating area.

Tip:  I tend to ask for my guac to be on the side because the people making the burritos have two settings, a pile of guac or barely any at all.  I just get it on the side and apply myself.  It is easier that way.

I dont like giving one star reviews but sometimes you have to.  I've been there several times now and last time my friend got sick on the chips -- really really sick.  OK stuff like that can happen in any restaurant.

So, some months go by and I go in for a burrito and fries for take out.  I am the only customer there, and the workers arent paying much attention but I dont think much about it.  They usually take your name but not this time.  So after about 5 minutes I hear the order and take it from the guy at the counter.  I walk home and its not my order. Mind you there was no one else in the place making an order.   So I call and ask what happened.  I was told "I took Ted's order."  I am glad they took his name but not mine.  Obviously, that is where the confusion happened.  Am I supposed to look in the bag before I leave?

So I go in the next day for a refund and I am told once again that it is my fault that I took someone else's order.  Yup, they are that petty.  So I intentionally say "its all my fault" -- with a smile -- thinking she would say something nice back.  Nope.

The only excuse is that there are mostly teens working there and the young women at the register does not seem like the brightest person on the planet.

Please think twice before going there.  Personally I am done Tito's at Summit.

Long time customer who has been eating a Big Easy burrito every week for years. Over the last 3 months I have ordered, brought my food home, taken a bite, tasted nothing but salt, thrown it out, then stayed away for awhile, and then tried again. I have even tried different nights, but the food is a brick of salt. I would have loved to send an email but their "contact us" link is asking me to update my Office for Mac ($$) which I have never had happen before. So I guess I will let them know - salt, and only salt,  is not what a burrito should taste like.

I really, really liked this place!  I had the special of the day...Chipotle shrimp burrito... it was DELICIOUS!  The guacamole was also super good!  I'm a fan.  Being latina, I know what this stuff is supposed to taste like, ie perfect balance of lime, salt, etc... and it's good.  For a lunch joint, it's awesome... I was happy and satisfied when I left.  Hubby had the Hang Five Burrito - shrimp, cabbage, etc.. very limey taste - which we love.  He was curious about the wings but didn't think they were very good - again, it's a burrito joint.   Want wings, go to a wing joint.  You can get a whole wheat tortilla if you'd like and I noticed (after leaving) that they also have brown rice.  They also have veggie/vegan options :)

I love Tito's!  They have really good food, particularly the shrimp burrito and my 3 year old loves the mini chicken quesadilla.  They are very casual and the service is very friendly.  I won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

Always a solid meal.  The Big Easy or The Bird is my norm.  I've been to both Morristown and Summit locations many, many times.  Always fresh and good.  The portions have gotten a bit smaller, but recessions do that.  I eat a lot, and never leave unsatisfied.  For those who don't like the food, you're nuts.  =)

After reading numerous positive reviews about this place, my wife and I had very high expectations. We were extremely disappointed with the burritos, we tried the Mac Daddy and Blackened Salmon. We prefer to go eat at Chipotle's since they are more generous with the meat. Doubt we will eat here again.

I must say that I am pretty shocked by the pretty good overall reviews by my fellow Yelpers for Tito's.  Here is my general rule of thumb for following Yelp reviews and I actually think it works really well - if a place averages at least 3.5 stars and has at least 10 reviews, then it is probably pretty good.  It has never failed me...until today.

To start - the place is incredibly tiny, very difficult to sit together with more than 2 people (we had 3).  It was also close to 90 the day we ate here and the place was incredibly hot.  I went with the chicken burrito and it definitely wasn't terrible, but it wasn't very good.  It was very bland overall - bland chicken, rice and beans.  I wasn't impressed.  I also sampled my wife's ground beef burrito and there was absolutely no seasoning used with the meat.  My sister, who is a vegetarian, had the vegetarian burrito and she thought her's was bad, too.

Even the fountain soda machine wasn't operating properly.  They did have a decent salsa bar - I will give them that.

I really don't like writing 1-star reviews, but I feel like you have to when it is warranted.  Overall, I was just very disappointed and I will not be heading back.

Great burritos. Nice staff. Limited and lousy seating options. Obnoxiously over-the-top decor.

The food is always fresh and consistent. I normally get tacos of some sort. They are probably the best tacos around, but after all, you are in New Jersey, not exactly the taco capitol of the world.

My biggest gripes are that there isn't enough seating, the seating is only "high-tops" or bar stool-style, and the staff isn't very friendly. So, that being said, get take out if that's an option for you.

I wanted to like this place.  I really did.  I had heard they served good burritos but had never gotten around to coming here.  When I'm alone and the urge strikes, I usually hit up Chipotle.  My friend was visiting me from out of town and I let her choose between here and Picante.  She chose this place.

We drove over on a below-freezing Friday at dinner time.  We were both very, very hungry.  We were expecting a small and crowded place and that's basically what it was.  We waited in line and ordered our food to-go because all the tables were full.  We figured if someone left we could always eat the food in.

I got The Bird (chicken burrito with the works - chicken, beans, sour cream, guac, and pico) and my friend got basically the same thing but with ground beef instead of chicken.  A family left so she grabbed a couple stools in the back and after a few minutes I went up front to wait for our orders.  Hers came out first; I brought it to her and went back to wait for mine.

And then I waited, and waited, and waited some more.  For some god awful reason, I tend to be forgotten, a lot.  Maybe it's because I'm quiet and respectful.  But I was kind of silently staring at all the girls because of the long gap in time.  They had packaged a few meals in to-go bags that were just sitting on the counter in the back room.  Finally, after pretty much everyone got their food except for like 2 people who had just come in, and there was no line, I had to speak up to get someone's attention. There were 3 - not 1 but 3 - girls just doing menial tasks like putting chips in bags and refilling the salsa bar.  It would have been nice if someone said - What are you waiting for or How can I help you?  I said excuse me, can you please check on my order?  I told them I got the Bird. So she goes to that counter, looks at the 3 bags, picks one up, and hands it to me.  It had been sitting there for five minutes!!!  There is no reason for that to happen.  And the kicker is she didn't apologize for the wait, the mixup, or say anything at all!!!

The other thing that bothered me about the service is I ordered some mexican soda in a glass bottle.  After I sat down I realized it was not a screw top.  Now I actually have a bottle opener on my house key chain but I didn't have it with me... so I sadly had to go back to the counter if I wanted to drink my soda.  I went up and noticed a bottle opener in a case of pens next to the register. I didn't want to just grab it so I asked if the girl has a bottle opener.  She takes the bottle out of my hands, opens it, and hands the bottle back to me.  Again, didn't say anything at all!  It was a little rude.  I don't know what was up their you know whats that evening.

Finally, the food.  The chips were ok - some were a little stale, some were alright.  Again, I was starving.  From the salsa bar, the pico de gallo was good, and the salsa verde was nice and tangy.  The medium was awful!  I normally eat medium salsa but be warned this one has some strange kick to it - it's either horse radish, mustard or wasabi - something from that family of flavors. My friend didn't like it at all either, so it wasn't just me.

Now the most important part - the burritos.  Even with the sour cream and guac, my burrito tasted dry.  I don't think there was any pico in it.  I kept pouring salsa verde and pico onto it.  The chicken could use some sauce or marinade. It tasted like super plain chicken.  And I don't think black beans give any flavor at all.  So the burrito was totally bland. I even left a bite or two uneaten, which I usually never do. My friend didn't dislike hers as much as I did, but she totally agreed there wasn't much, if any, "mexican flavor" to her burrito or beef.  And she said she couldn't really taste the guac either.

So, bottom line, food disappointing, service, ugh.  Would I try this place one more time? Yes, one more time, but not anytime soon.

I've eaten here twice and just can't bring myself to like it.

Today I had 1 fish taco and 1 steak taco. The fish and steak were both very tasty so that was nice.

Unfortunately the tacos come in a "double shell", a soft tortillas wrapped around a hard one. A hard corn tortilla has no business being in existence. Neither tortilla did anything to enhance the taste of the tacos.

Pricewise.......AY CARAMBA!! I know it's Summit where money actually DOES grow on trees but $4.50 for a steak taco and $4.25 for a fish taco are a bit much.

Riddle me this.....How can a place on the beach in expensive San Diego charge $2.95 for either a carne asada taco (with guacamole sauce) or fish taco (the size of my head) but a place in Summit charges $4.25 for a portion one third of the size and less tasty?

Anyway, if the food was great and large I'd pay up but next time I'll just take my money out of my wallet and shred it and then eat that.

PS if the owner(s) reads this feel free to contact me (and sorry for being so harsh, just proving a point)....I'd be happy to show ya what I think a real gnarly taco that I'd drive out of my way to get should taste like.

No not good.  Four stars? Who is reviewing this place?  To begin the interior annoys me.  They got some annoying hawiaan skateboarding guy as their mascot obviously named Tito.  Well F tito he sucks and so do his burritos.  Interior seating is scarce and cramped.  The counter help appear to be willyburg hipster transplants.  Their salsas are all terrible as are their stale mult-colored chips.  Dam I hate those purple and red tortillas.  I've given this place three shots.
    Shrimp Tacos- An utter nightmare
    Fish Tacos-average at best
Burrito-giving it some wacky name doesn't make it good.
Hate to write such a bad review about a small business but they deserve it for their chips and salsa alone, they make a bag of tostitos and a jar of old el paso look good.

Not the best burrito I've ever had, but close to it!

However, they DO, in fact, have the best pico de gallo I have ever had, and they allow you to take as much as you will actually eat!

Their salsa's are nice and hot, no gringo spicy here, though on occasion the medium is actually hotter than the hot. No problem for me, that's how I like it!

Their guac is v. good, and their chips seem to be home made (not sure), though Chipotle beats them in both categories overall.

Family members report that their quesadilla is high quality, though whose to say where it stands in the war of surprisingly-good Summit quesadillas being waged between the Office, Winberrie's, and Tito's.

We first discovered Tito's in Morristown.  At first we were totally unimpressed with the place.  We thought it was expensive and excruciatingly bland.

Then we discovered that you could customize nearly everything.  Now the menu board is just a jumping off point.  We take stuff we don't like out; we add other stuff in; we change the type of tortilla, etc. etc.

They don't seem to mind a bit.  What's more, they even get it right most of the time!  Since we figured that out, Tito's has become a favorite stop not all that far from the Short Hills Mall, and in the evenings there's even plenty of parking on street.

This location is smaller than the one in Morristown.  There are something like four 2-person high-top tables and one 4-5 person counter.  The line for ordering sometimes wraps in and among the tiny dining area.  If it's nice outside and you don't mind minor traffic noise, there is also a bench on the sidewalk.

Stopped in here last night with my wife and it was very very very good.   We both wanted something different last night and Tito's fit the bill.   We were tired of burgers, and tired of normal stuff so we stopped in.

We were VERY surprised how good the food was.   We ordered a Bird burrito and an order of wings.   Everything was clean, fresh and downright good.   The burrito was nice and fat and prepared nicely with fresh ingredients.   The Wings we had requested them well done and crunchy and they were PERFECTLY done and prepared.   The sauce was a BBQ type sauce which was good.

We will definitely go back here and check it out again.   Our new favorite place in the area!

Got take out from here once.  Definitely overpriced.  About as white-washed as Tex-Mex can get but it definitely has a distinct taste.  I like the rice in the burrito.  I wouldn't got out of my way to eat here but it's not all that bad either.

The Burritos are fresh, the service is fast, and the price is right. How can you go wrong with that?

The ones that I've tried so far are the "Bird is the Word" and the "Big Easy". Take note.. the portions are huge, and are not for the faint of heart!

Another tip: The big bag of Chips is cheaper and much tastier than buying a bag of Tostitos from the Supermarket!!

One of the better burrito/mexican places in the area. I had the "off the hook" fish burrito which was very very good. The whitefish was super tender, fresh, and just tasted very clean. None of that fishy smell you sometimes get with fish tacos/burritos/etc. Their salsa bar is great too. Also tried the wings which were very tasty but could have been spicier. I'll have to get the hottest sauce next time. I think most items are less than $10 but your total can be over $10 when you add on a drink/guac/etc.

Overall, very good. Definitely will return.

    PS... their quesadillas are huge.

Just a few blocks away from the Summit NJT, it's a good option for dinner when it's too late to cook.

For full menu, take a look at their menu online.  Price is reasonable.  It's BYOB.  They also have quite interesting daily special and other Mexican food variety outside of burritos.

I had the spicy calamari burrito and it was a one of the best burrito I had.  It has yellow rice, the calamari is crispy and the spicy sauce (i guess sourcream+mayo).  YUMMO!

On drinks, if you bring your your tequilla, they can make your margarita for $2.50 or something like that.  A steal!

It's not a real sit down place.  Probably has only 5 highboys (seating 2 each) and a bar seating area.  Be prepared to either wait or take out.

If I want a burrito, then I want Tito's. Forget about Qdoba, Tinga and Chipotle. Tito's is the spot. There are only a few tables in this little place, so we usually get take-out. The guacamole isn't that great, but everything else is delicious! The fish tacos are tasty, but I usually get a chicken burrito. The service is fast and friendly. I only wish they were open a little later than 9pm, but that's Jersey for you!

I first tried Tito's Burritos at a staff meeting.  And I must say that it was the best staff meeting ever!
It has some of the best tex mex food I've had in Jersey.  Coming from the west coast where the Mexican food is authentic, I'm picky about my Mexican food.

But this is very yummy.  The salsa bar is great, and it's has a neat vibe to it.  Only bad thing is it's a little small inside.  Better for take-out, than dinning in.  Regardless it's delicious and the people are friendly.

Store front caught my eye while driving by looking for somewhere to eat.
So glad I did. First off the surf shop like decor is great, and old surf videos paying told me I was in the right place..
2nd. The salsa bar offers 3 flavors of salsa, pickled jalepenos, cut limes and pico de gallo.
I enjoyed some tacos, best of the bunch being the Shark Taco (grilled swordfish not shark) served in hard shell wrapped in a soft tortilla.
Great fresh flavors all around and friendly service will have me coming back next time I'm in the area.

I am shocked that there's a decent Mexican place in this area.  But wow.

A friend was picking up take out from here a week or so ago before Lost and a couple of different burritos were recommended to me.  But I saw nachos on the menu and immediately wanted nachos.  When i want nachos, stay out of my way.

"Dude, don't get the nachos take out.  They'll come back all soggy and taste like crap."

    BUT I WANT NACHOS

My suggestion was to ask the guy if they could put the chips in one container and all the stuff they put on the chips in another and I'll just scoop it out.  They said they'd take care of us.

I got even better than I expected.  My order had a container with TONS of chips and then separate containers of chicken, black beans, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, spicy salsa and pickled jalapenos.  DAMN.

I piled all that jazz on top of the chips and threw the whole plate in the oven to melt the cheese.  When it came out it was just like I had been served this steaming pile of deliciousness in the restaurant.  I destroyed this plate of nachos, single handedly cancelling out the previous week's worth of gym time.  But it was worth it.  Can't wait to go back and try the burritos.  And if you ever get nachos take out, DEFINITELY get the ingredients separated.

So.... story goes that this past summer I was visiting a friend who lived in Jersey and she said "I gotta take you to this tex-mex sorta place, you'll love it!". Being the fajita / burrito / guacamole connoisseur that I intend to be why not give it a whirl. After getting lost a few times because reading directions is not my forte... finally the Taj Mahal of Tex-Mex food was only a few steps away.
The welcoming beachy / California-ish laid back ambience is only the beginning. Reggae resonating in the background and a long table made of a surfboard only exudes the laid back lifestyle.
Tito's Burritos was better than sex on a Sunday afternoon. Everything is well-made, FRESH, and exotic in its own sort of way. The Hawaiian Chicken BBQ Burrito along with Tito's guacamole, seriously would be my last meal before the electric chair.
This is how good it is... I live in Long Island now and last night I had a wholly for some good Tex-Mex. We drove about an 1 hour and 45 minutes to savor it. So worth it! I swear they should sponsor tour-bus service there.
    Yummies to Tito's Burritos!!!!

A friend who lives in the area brought me to Tito's Burritos when I came to town.  I grew up in Southern California and I know a thing or two about Mexican food.  I wasn't sure that burritos and New Jersey were necessarily going to go hand in hand.  Let's just say that I was wrong in a big way.  Tito's rocks!  This was seriously the tastiest burrito I've had in a long time.

Tito's is located right in downtown Summit.  It's a small restaurant with just a few tiny tables inside.  Service was very friendly and our order was brought to our table promptly.  I ordered The Big Easy: chicken, rice, cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo wrapped up in a tortilla.  I am sort of flummoxed by the yellow rice-- I'm not sure I've ever seen rice this color before, and certainly not in a burrito.  But who cares?  This burrito was darn good.  The rice could have been purple for all I cared once I took a bite.  The burrito came with a handful of chips, which were tasty as well.

My friend ordered the bean & cheese burrito, which she really liked.  Her husband is crazy about The Bird, a chicken burrito with black beans & guacamole.

This is a casual place, nothing fancy.  But the food is satisfying and tasty, service is wonderful and I enjoyed my experience.  I'm just sad that there isn't a Tito's in CA so I can go back!

This place makes my favorite steak burritos in the area.  The Mac Daddy is awesome as is the Bird.  The guac is always fresh and they have a couple different levels of hotness in the salsa and its fresh too.  Chips are really good and they come on the side of every meal.  Great for takeout or before a night of drinking
