They had AWESOME gyros...I wouldn't touch one before. Sadly, they have closed down.

This is a positive 3 stars; you should certainly eat here.  I had the gyros combo, and it was unspectacular.  What was a plus was that it was prepared at time of order, and everything came out piping hot.  Good value for money, go try it.

Great gyro. Kind of sterile atmosphere, but clean and nice.

My family really enjoys this place. Good food for a good price, and the service is excellent and very friendly. My advice is to order the Gyros with Feta (you have to ask for it) and ask them to put the tzatziki sauce on the side, otherwise it gets pretty messy. The tenderloins are OK, not as crispy or meaty as some places and the kid's chicken fingers are pressed-meat chicken not the best quality but kids still like them. The Colorado chicken sandwich is a BBQ bacon and cheese with chicken which was pretty tasty. I would still advise you to stick to the Gyros- they are quite good and also the fries are good too. The baklava is heaven!

I had such high hopes, but was a bit disappointed. The french fries were cold and the gyro meat seemed a bit over done.  The sauce seemed more like mayonnaise than a true tzatziki sauce. Underwhelmed.

Good food at a great price.  It's made fresh so you have to wait and seating is limited but we had delicious gyros and the onions rings are fantastic.

Back when King Gyro's occupied this building, I boldly declared that the Italian Beef sandwich was the best lunch bargain in the city. Then about a month later they closed down!

When I saw a new place was opening up, I was pleasantly surprised to see a very similar menu to what was offered before. I have a feeling the same folks must be operating this establishment. So of course when I returned I went for the Italian Beef sandwich again. However, I must have overhyped it in my head because it was not as mind blowingly yummy as I remembered. It was still good, but something just seemed different.

However, what really impressed me is their prices. I went with my wife. We got 2 sandwiches, a greek salad, an order of fries, 2 drinks, and a dessert, all for less than $15! Are you serious?!?! You can't even get that much food for that price at McDonalds. Stellar deals here.

If you're dining in, it may be a little cramped if they're busy. I only counted 9 tables inside when I visited, and most of them only seat 2 people.

Gyros aren't difficult to find, unless you're in a small town with no Greek population.  All the time I've spent elsewhere, I could get gyros, souvlaki, or stuffed grape leaves easily.  In some cities in Indiana or Ohio, you can find a mall food court with such food but Richmond is such a small town that this place is a pleasant surprise.

The Gyro Combo was quite inexpensive at $5.99 + tax.  That includes fries and a drink.  Contrast that to Burger King or Hardee's and you'll realize that you get more food at Tom and Jerry's and someone cared about making it the way you wanted it.

As with most places, you don't get lamb.  You get spiced beef in your gyro with onions, and a (feta cheese-based?) sauce though the actual feta cheese will cost extra.  It's quite tasty.  The fries were rather large cuts like Rax or Wendy's would serve, with a bit of salt and pepper, crispy on the outside and nicely soft on the inside.  As I got them around 12:55, they were hot.  I would go there just for the fries.

Surprisingly, there weren't many people eating there.  Perhaps, people haven't been interested once they tried something different at Gyro King, the previous quick serve restaurant, which had most everything in common.

The people all seem to care about what you're getting and that says a lot to me when you can enter some quick serve restaurants in Richmond and find that the employees have no purpose but to keep the floor from touching the ceiling.  These people want to know how enjoyable it is.

Update: I've been there a few times now and the Italian Beef and the Catfish dinner are equally good.  It's been more busy these other times, so maybe the Olive Garden newness has worn off and people just want good food at a reasonable price again.  I should just say that I haven't found anything they make that I don't like.

I was bummed when Gyro King closed many months ago, but Tom and Jerry's is the perfect replacement!  (It's in the same building as the former Gyro King.)  Finally I can get my gyros again!  Came via drive through and ordered the gyro combo which came with french fries and a drink for under 7 dollars.  It was the lunch hour and I was happy to see their dining room was busy, so service was not as quick as a McDonald's since everything was cooked fresh, but overall, the wait-time wasn't bad at all.

Gyro was generously heaped with tender delicious meat, grilled onions, tomato and a fresh soft pita. I personally would have enjoyed a bit more of the yogurt sauce, but even then, it was still quite delicious.  The french fries were perfectly prepared, not overly greasy but nice and crispy!  The soda had a bit more ice than I cared for, next time I will tell them to go easy on the ice.

Being a native Chicagoan, I am looking forward to trying their Chicago dog combo next!  Friendly and cheerful cashier at drive thru window.  Overall, a very positive experience.  I will patronize this place on a regular basis.

UPDATE:  Had the Chicago Dog combo, it came with two dogs, fries and a soda for only 3.99, excellent value.  Only the dog wasn't authentic Chicago style.  The actual hot dog frankfurter was excellent, it had that "pop" when you bite into it, one of the hallmarks of a quality dog. Toppings included relish, mustard, onion, tomato slices and a hot pepper.  What this dog was lacking was the poppy-seed bun, the bright green relish, pickle spear and the celery salt.  Only THEN would it be truly Chicago style.  BUT, it was still pretty delcious!!
