Mediocre I thought.
My brother and I spotted this food truck last week on a visit to Eugene and resolved to give it a try next time we were in town. Today was the day.
He ordered Baby Back Ribs with Baked Beans and Slaw. ($9) I chose 3 strips of Tri-Tip with two Chicken Pieces and Collard Greens. ($9) Both came with Bread which was half a Hoagie Roll. Kelly said his Ribs were just OK. He had no comment about his sides. My Tri-Tip could have been Deli Roast Beef from a grocery store. The Chicken was a hind quarter and though smoky and fairly moist had no other flavor. I asked for my BBQ Sauce on the side. It was too sweet for my tastes so I did not use it. My Greens were excessively salty.
When we rolled up we noticed that there was not smoke exiting the (apparently cold) BBQ and the inordinate time it took to get our food, we thought, suggested that it was being warmed in some manner.
On a BBQ scale of one to ten, we rated this place a 3 and a 4 respectively. Knowing the quality of Que Eugene has to offer, I'm afraid two stars is the best I can do
The meat itself was ok, but the sides were really disappointing, I didn't even eat them. The price was good because we had a groupon, but even with that I felt like I wasted my money. On top of everything the girl who as working was bordering on rude, but tacky at best. Unfortunately I wouldn't go back or recommend going there.
