Food was decent, service was horirble.
It took close to 40 minutes to get our pizza. I almost wonder if they lost or order! We only placed an order for one large pepparoni pizza. The waitress kept coming around telling us it was almost done and coming out. This happened about every 10 minutes until finally we realized, no it wasnt coming out.
She brought us out bread I guess to "soothe" our appetities about 25 mins into our wait, and it was cold! It tasted almost frozen on the ends, or at least refridgerated and not fully cooked. Needless to say, noone could eat it. Was like raw dough.
Drinks were refilled only at us going up to the hostess and asking her to refill them since our waitress, only showed up about every 10 minutes to tell us or order was almost up. Sprites came out super flat, which we also went back to the hostess to fix since waitress was MIA.
Food was decent, but not worth the headache of crappy service. And the wait wasn't a tolerable amount considering the place only holds a small amount of people!
Exactly what I was looking for - a little trattoria similar to the ones up north. The food and the service were excellent (the chicken and spinach ravioli ... with fresh garlic and rosemary...I may dream about that tonight). Highly, highly recommend. Especially for homesick NY/NJ transplants.
Review Source:Visited for the first time 9/1/11. Opened only a few months, Tony's has all the right ingredients for a very good pizzeria and trattoria. Still needs some refining: upgrading the salads served with dinner, better bread, larger napkins and a restaurant sign of appropriate size that says that Tony's is here and ready for business. Generous servings of wine and pasta, the former from a limited but adequate list and the latter very flavorful and made with quality ingredients. A little pricey considering the local competition. Tony's should do well and be a good addition to the growing number of better restaurants in Leland.
