Seems divey, but booze prices say otherwise. I enjoy myself everytime I come here, though, and it's a really chill neighborhood place.

This place is great.  The burgers are delicious and the drinks are stiff.  The only thing that would make this place better is french fries because a burger should always come with fries.  Also offering salsa with the queso would be nice as well!

5 star dive bar! Love the staff and the bus bar upstairs.

Very laid back local bar with assorted board games at the tables.  I agree with the other reviewers that the drinks are priced too high and the atmosphere is too carefully planned for this to be a "dive bar."  It's more of a neighborhood bar.  I agree with the other reviewer that Trusty's has a good mix of bar patrons.

Limited pub food/grill menu (comfort food, reasonably priced).  Decent cheesesteak.  Breakfast Brat and Full Monte are fun brunch dishes.  Plenty of TVs for games.

My favorite low-key bar in DC. Four distinct sections: bar area on first floor, back table area on that floor with board games and the like. Upstairs is the famous school bus bar (which gets a little crowded and was a bit rowdy the Friday I went) and finally, the enclosed patio area upstairs -- best for holding conversations.

Good mix of bar patrons -- people who have likely lived in the neighborhood for years plus the young professional crowd moving into east Capitol Hill seemed to mix seamlessly.

My good friend from Tennessee who really knows his bourbon and beer thought it would be a great idea to swing by Trusty's after a work related black tie event at the Smithsonian. Despite feeling terribly out of place (on a related note - he didn't seem to care and fit right in anyway), I actually really liked this place and have since then, gone back dressed a little more appropriately.

The drinks are cheap, they're served in mason jars, the jukebox is actually quite good, the bar is grimy and the food is terrible; but you're still going to like it because it's got that nice chill vibe so you can sit back and drink while actually having a conversation without being overrun by drunk college kids. Well, sometimes they will show up but they'll mostly be fascinated by the school bus on the second floor - so you'll be just fine.

The term "dive bar" is used WAY to liberally in DC. Look, I love dive bars as much as the next guy, but this ain't one of them.

To be a dive bar, a drinking establishment must meet two simple criteria:
    1) No-frills, borderline gritty atmosphere
    2) Cheap drinks

Come during happy hour, you'll pay $5.25 for a draft Sierra Nevada (regular price: $6.25). Sorry folks, prices like that exclude Trustys from being a drive bar. Yeah, I get that this is DC and stuff's expensive, but I can drink better beer for the same price at other bars on the Hill.

P.S. real "dive bars" don't sling beer in mason jars.

Best neighborhood bar ever.  Check out the 2nd floor which was added sometime circa 2011 ... the bar is an actual school bus.

Many reviewers claim Trusty's is a "dive bar," and they couldn't be more correct.  If you're looking for a place where you can get a martini or nice glass of wine look elsewhere.  But, if you want a cold beer and good grill food look no further.

Limited menu, but it's all good.  Try the buffalo chicken cheese steak.  It is life changing.  Since discovering it 3 years ago it is the ONLY thing I order, but their burger recipe is delicious as well.

If I had one compliant it's that they don't have a deep fryer, so I can't get wings.  If they had wings I literally would never visit any other bar in DC.  It's probably good for me they don't.

This is hands-down my new favorite bar in DC.  I'm so happy to have found my dive-bar-happy place to (temporarily) take place of Aero Bar in SD.

Staff is super helpful and friendly, as they should be.  They will put on any football game for you and/or help you find a spot where you can watch your game.

Food is delicious!  I'm not saying it is healthy...nor am I saying it is grease-free, but it is the best it gets for bar food.  It is so funny that someone below complained about the nachos, because I thought they were perfect.  They are by no means fancy-shamance or authentic (in the Mexican sense), but they are quite tasty and go well with a mason jar of Fat Tire.

The draft beer selection could be better, but what they lack in draft they make up for in bottle/can selection and prices.

And last, but not least, there is a BUS as the bar upstairs.  This is where I hang out because it is awesome.

The first thing I look for when moving into a new 'hood -- after the grocery store and dry cleaner -- is the local dive bar. I am thrilled to say that Trusty's fulfilled my expectations: chill atmosphere, good burgers, drink prices that won't break the bank ...

What keeps me returning to Trusty's is the vibe. You definitely get that it's a "locals" hang-out (Animal fits right in).  At the same time, there's this very creative, cool and unique side to it evidenced by the thermos chandeliers that light your way up the stairs to the school bus turned bar.

Went to Trusty's on Friday night during happy hour. I'm giving the place two stars for the funky dive bar ambiance and the friendly patrons. Otherwise, the place sucks. We ordered margaritas made with Jose Cuervo (btw... this joint considers Cuervo top shelf...lol!) and were charged 10 bucks for a drink during happy hour!!! And the margarita was mediocre... made with that disgusting syrupy lime juice out of a bottle! $10 bucks for ANY drink in a dive bar  is unacceptable! And I concur with previous reviews about the nasty nachos...UGH! Will not go back!

Then we went over to 8th St restaurant row to an upscale bar & and had great margaritas for half the price ... Go figure!

Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker! Trust.

I'm not sure what the full-serve entails, but they tossed us our terrible nachos in a manner that suggested half-serve. Ba dum bum psh! Seriously, don't get them, the hot melty cheese tastes of feet.

It's a dive. Go, see the school bus, play games. The jenga is particularly nervous-giggle-inducing. TVs everywhere.

I've been coming to Trusty's long before they opened the upstairs school bus bar, and have yet to hang out upstairs (usually because it's too crowded). I have a few friends who live in this neighborhood and this is their local watering hole.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about the place because it's so small that it easily gets noisy and crowded. I prefer it when our group has the place to ourselves and we can have our pick of Jenga, Connect Four, Chairs, Buck Hunter, etc. Also, when it's not too busy you can load up the juke box and hear all the songs that you paid for, instead of leaving before they get played because others have done the same (grr).
Trusty's has a small grill and a menu full of bar food (see pics). No deep fryer though, just potato chips. It used to be that you would smell like grease after leaving, but they've fixed the ventilation with the renovations.

Overall, I think that every neighborhood enclave in DC needs it's own local dive-bar, and here Trusty's fills that role. Under the right circumstances, this place is ideal for a small group of people to sit around a table, drink, talk, play childhood games, and watch TV. Good times, just as long as it doesn't get too noisy & crowded.

Why do I live so far away from Trusty's?
    Bummer.

Came here after a very long day of meetings. The scene is pretty chill and it was a good mix of everyone. Not pretentious at all and made the best margarita I've had in a long time... served in a Mason jar.

    I will be back.

Intervened when Joe was amped to pick a fight with Mic and Venu, because are you really going to punch a pouty Asian girl? No, I have no idea what you said to me as you left.

Bopped along to varied jukebox selections as I split a baby mason jar of Yuengling with Venu. Anorexic pickings if you're a snobby drinker.

Nearly throttled Brian B after he rapped something tragically mean about one of the bartenders.

Was offered a pitcher of crappy beer by a departing team who promised it wasn't roofied or peed in.

Humped the bar to allow foot traffic to the bathrooms.

Watched Mike S fail at the Big Buck World arcade game.

After skimming some of these reviews, I'm grouchy that we didn't check out the school bus upstairs.

It's a dive. Cheap beer, chill bartenders, crisp telly screens. I'm down.

I FINALLY got to this bar, and am very happy I did.

This bar has everything I want: a giant yellow school bus, a rooftop that is covered and heated during the winter, good music, board games, and cheap booze. It's a neighborhood bar that is way cooler than your neighborhood bar. Here's the thing though: if you are not in the neighborhood, people KNOW. I really wanted to move over to the school bus, order a drink from the window, and have my friend snap a picture of me while I was doing so, but it was totally blocked by SE hipsters that just stared at me like the yuppie Cleveland Park tourist I am. They were totally the back of the bus kids and I was not going to even try and mess with them.

So, I wish this bar were in MY neighborhood where I could get rowdy and get pink slips from the bus driver and then leave when it closes and not have to stand outside in the cold until 3:30am praying that some cab will take me home.

Also, what is with the abundance of giant female condoms in the bathroom? They were strewn everywhere! Open and everything! I was so grossed out and surprised, I don't even know how to feel. Just confused, really.

Even though Trusty's isn't truly an old school dive (like Tune Inn), and it's the sister bar of Pour House and 18th Amendment, I still think Trusty's is doing a pretty good job of frontin' as a good ole neighborhood dive.

The schoolbus standing in as a bar upstairs doesn't hurt :) Definitely one of the more creative things I've seen in DC that actually works. The seat belts don't work though :) There are various board games that you can play upstairs (most notably jenga with handwritten dares -my name is now Buttons). They also have a pretty big patio for when the weather's nice!

    FOOD
You can get a burger, grilled cheese sandwich, and fries here for a decent price. That's about it. It's all pretty darn good though, and just what you need if you'll be hanging out here for a while. May I recommend the Ol' Reliable burger?

    DRINKS
Go upstairs for their awesome beer can selection. They have all four of the Butternuts beers in cans (a local beer with a rich finish, they have a stout, IPA, pale ale, and hef). I personally enjoy the Hef the most (green can with a fish on it). Drafts are served in mason jars. Happy hour includes Mon-Fri 4-7pm is $1 off rails, $1 off drafts.

I didn't know Trusty's existed until it became the official bar for Arkansas Razorback watch parties (WOO PIG SOOIE!) The upstairs outdoor patio was a really nice place to watch the football games before it got too cold. Didn't know they had an upstairs? I didn't either, until the third time I went.

Pretty typical beer selection and prices. I really like their homemade salsa, grilled half smoke and the philly cheesesteak. But what I like most is how laid back everyone is. There are so many board games available that it's often hard to decide what to play. And for a smaller space, they've crammed TV's into every nook and cranny for your viewing pleasure.

    Great bar. Good people.

3.55 - There's a SCHOOL BUS on the second floor. A BUS! And bus seats...with cup holders! Not to mention the slight bit of irony that the bar is IN the bus and drinks are served THROUGH the bus windows (might I note that the bus was indeed of the short variety, if that means anything to anyone...) They have your basic and regular selection of adult beverages but what's awesome about this place are the random beers. Gotta say, I really enjoyed my stout from a can with a cow on it. Pretty awesome. I absolutely love random stuff like this.

Oh yeah, and cute little patio off the 2nd floor. Drink up inside, get warm, then go be a fool and sit outside in the cold? Yeah...I'm going to wait to sit out there when it's warm again.

If you're looking for a laid back place to grab some drinks in a place  that's not close to overly crowded, Trusty's is it. Nothing better than going into a non-pretentious DC bar where I can roll in wearing jeans and flip flops.

Finally made it to Trusty's since the upstairs has been completed.  What a fantastic job they've done, increasing the size of this place at least 200%, adding an outdoor patio, and the school bus is pretty cool.  We have some friends who live just a block away and we don't get to this neighborhood very often.  This place in itself is worth the trip, and only a 2 minute walk from the Potomac Ave. Metro.

They have a great array of games, including the always reliable Connect 4 and they have National Bohemian cans!

I really like this place and will be back again soon, even though it couldn't be further across town from home.  Love the crowd as well, so nice to get out of the Dupont/Logan bubble of home.

I went here for an Arkansas Razorback game, as they seem to be the place in town to go.  There were lots of fans, and as in true Arkansas style I ran into someone I knew from college.

This was a great dive bar. Beer in mason jars.  4/10 dollars.  Hog fans all around.  If you miss the natural state, this is a great place to go at the next game.

"Back to school! Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool! I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight! Ohhhh, back to school! Back to school! Back to school! Well, here goes nothing!" - Billy Madison

3.75 stars.  I can assure you that nothing makes this guy want to drink more than the sight of a bright yellow school bus.  Thankfully, that has nothing to do with a predeliction towards lending credibility towards Larry Clark films and rather has an innocuous relationship to the novel "school bus" that comprises half of Trusty's new second floor.

As described by Jack F., the school bus itself is basically a shell where you order your drinks from the window.  While some people might find this theme incredibly misplaced, I think the potential notoriety it might spark is rather beneficial to a Washington DC bar scene that more often than not creates a safe haven for drab bars with little sense of character.

The food here is horseshit, but there is no reason to fret.  Trusty's has an ample selection of canned beers (the tap beers could use some major work) and has enough oddities and intricacies to appeal to most people who eschew standard tastes.  Aside from the schoolbus theme on the second floor, there is a nice outdoor patio and a first floor filled with games and a jukebox.  Trusty's generally seems to appeal to neighborhood residents and individuals looking for a slightly less traditional place to relax.  I mean, what can be less traditional than drinking in a school bus?  I guess I wouldn't know because I didn't go to public school.  I'm such an elitist piece of crap.

Anyhow, regardless of all that, you should go here to soak in some of the tasty beverages while enjoying an interesting environment.  While it might not be the trouble to metro all the way out to Potomac, this place is a given if you live anywhere within a two mile vicinity of the bar.

OK, Yelpers. Please keep this on the DL - I.e. don't bring your annoying friends who live in MD and VA, but Trusty's just got a whole lot more awesome.

BACKGROUND: Trusty's used to be a hole-in-the-wall surrounded by crackheads with just barely enough room to play a game of buck hunter. However, the charm of this place more than made up for the humble digs.

Well, like your high school friend's kid sister, Trusty's is now all grown up, sexy, and ready to be taken advantage of by hordes of johnny-come-lately hipsters and, likely, the bridge and tunnel crowd.

With the recent expansion, this previously cozy establishment has expanded into a huge second-floor with AWESOME open deck and full-service school-bus bar. DAMN YOU TRUSTY'S!!!!

The beer list remains awesome, and the upstairs bar has pleanty of canned beer to keep you busy. The bar food is surprisingly good, and that freaking upstairs is so cool I want to punch someone in the face for not having it sooner.

In my heart of hearts, I guess I still hope no one can find it, but if you do, my hat's off to you, sir. You deserve to enjoy that fresh "schoolbus seat" odor and a delicious natty-bo.

I've been working and studying so much that I don't get to do a whole lot lately.
I fly from Detroit to DC almost every Sunday and get a carryout and go to my hotel. Sad! Sad! Sad! Not only am I letting summer go by but I'm missing out on great places like this.

I had to drive around to find this place and was a little put off by the barbed wired buildings around and the places with boarded up windows. Not because I'm a snob, I'm from the Detroit area. I simply don't know the areas in DC yet. I parked and walked by a bar on the way here and saw a ton of people hanging out and I noticed the bar's sign "20 dollars all you can drink during the World Cup game".  WOW! AM I home? Is this an alternate universe with local places and easy going people in the metropolitan DC area? Why yes it is! This is great!

I step in to Trusty's and grab a local wheat in the mason jar and take in the comfort and happiness of a local place. I order a second and the bartender tells me that he bought me one, shakes my hand and introduces me to 2 of the customers. How great is that?
I didn't go upstairs, but I'm sure it was fun. Can't wait to get back.

So the fellas were giving me my big send off back to the Lone Star State, and of course a place with great beers and better service was on the menu.  So When my homeboy suggested Trusty's i was like "cool, I can do a dive and not be extra swanky with it...)   I shoulda known what i was getting myself into.

It's a dive and by dive i mean dark, dank and dingy.  Upon stepping inside the smell of fried food and grease hit me in the face.  Every part of me was like "RUN RUN!! FAR AWAY!!!" But I took a deep swallow and went inside.  I was promptly greeted by the barkeep and told what's on tap.  They did have a favorite IPA of mine (long hammer) so I wasn't completely thrown off, even after sliding me a few Mason Jars that looked like they were better suited for holding nails than brew.

They got the whole "drinkin around with the fellas at the garage" theme down.  From the slightly sleazy car posters in the bano, the sigage about the restaurant.  The kicker to me was the food.  I can imagine that if i was at the garage and somebody decided to throw a few burgers on the grill while i'm fixin my brakes, then it'd probably taste like trusty's double burger.  It had the taste like a backyard burger pulled fresh off the grill.  No Fries, but some potato chips.  I also had the grilled cheese on texas toast (what better way to soak up a couple of pitchers?) which was grilled perfectly.  Add a  few games of dominoes, decent jukebox tunes with the fellas and it was an awesome pre-game for a nice night out to do other things.

SO My 4 stars  It's for a great dive with charm and originality.  Can they keep it a lil more cleaner tho??

Trusty's was a serendipitous find for me and soon became the goto bar for my softball team.

This is the quintessential  dive bar. Dark and dank, but full of character. The entire decor is old auto ads, license plates and oil cans.

You can get your beer in a mason jar and sample some of the best burgers you will ever have. The trusty burger is awesome, but the double trusty is the way to go.

The jukebox is always pumping, and every table has an assortment of board games from candyland, connect four, the game of life and even jenga.

There is also one of those hunting games for those that need more stimulation, but there is nothing better than a pitcher with a burger and some jenga.

Word is that they are expanding to have an upstairs and a larger patio.

One warning, if the place is busy and you are hungry, order immediately. The grill is tiny and you will be tortured by the smell of delicious food that is not yours.

    Conditions:

The first time I came here the owner had all these papers scattered around a booth doing the bars accounting and Strawberry Fields was playing off an ipod through $10 Dell computer speakers.  Total neighborhood bar.

    Rad:

They serve beer in mason jars, have buck hunter, and cook bar food on basically a camp stove.

There is not dive bar beer sludge on the floor.  I'm pretty sure they have candyland the boardgame.

    Bad:

This bar is located near nothing.

You will only get laid here if you are gay and good at convincing straight guys to have gay sex..

Oh hell yeah. A bit out of the way, but other than that there is no down side (besides a lack of fries on the menu). Perfect little dive bar. It is just one room, with a small bar out front and a room full of tables in the back. but what makes it perfect is that each table has a giant pile of games on it.

It is the perfect way to while away a quiet weekend afternoon or evening. Drink some cheap beer out of a mason jar, play chutes and ladders or trivial pursuit with some friends-basically it is like my living room except I don't have to clean up afterwards.

Trusty's is a low-key dive with a great soundtrack that kicks it up a notch and becomes a raucous good time on DC United game days. It'll forever hold a special place in my heart because it was one of the first bars I went to when I moved to D.C. -- one game of the Triv while sipping draft beer from a mason jar and I was sold! Since then Trusty's has remained a loyal friend -- giving me a ride to DC United games on their bar-sponsored bus, being the perfect combo of geeky-average-cool, and walking me to the metro when I'm leaving by myself. (For real, random good citizen patrons at Trusty's have offered to do this for me more than once.)

Also, a word about the food. I seriously think this might be the best grilled cheese I've ever had. There, I said it. That multi-tasking bartender cum cook with nary more than a tiny griddle plate serves up a darn near perfectly crunchy, greasy, spilling-over-with-cheese g.c. sandwich. Definitely give it a try once you're a few beers in and in desperate need of a melted cheese fix. (Oh wait, is that just me that gets those?)

"Trusty's where real people come to be with real people."

The beers are cheap and the half-smoked are grilled to perfection.  Also, the staff is as they should be, no nonsense but always up for a good time. The staff reflects the type of patrons that would find this place fun, down to earth people.

The games are a great draw.  You can challenge your friends to a somewhat sober game of Jenga, or you might be challenged by a neighboring table.

First time I was at Trusty's with 2 of my gal pals, we were challenged to a game of trivial pursuit by 2 men from the neighborhood.  It was great getting to meet real DC people and converse about Mayor Fenty, President Obama, and the most recent Marion Barry scandal.

It was a great time, as all times at Trusty's are.  And these men were rather surprised after we cleaned up on not only in the categories of geography and pop-culture, but also sports trivia.

    New motto could be:
"Trusty's breaking down class and gender barriers since 2009."

By FAR one of the coolest bars I've ever been to. It's a dive, with a younger but not too young crowd. Away from the stiff "Suits".  Beer in Mason Jars, Board Games on every table, jukebox, a small bar menu (I've yet to try the food but I've been told they have amazing Grilled Cheese).

Atmosphere is very chill and laid back, the bartenders don't tolerate the yuppies if you know what I mean. Ask what they have on tap and their response it "beer". Straight to the point type of place. You can spend hours playing games and suddenly they're closing down and you've just gotten started. A must-check-out dive.

And it's away from the night life so it's never over crowded and it never gets out of control or sketchy.

Trusty's full serve bar is bad ass. The juke box is tight and the bartenders are cool. I tend to utilize it as a pre-rage spot. They serve PBR cans and have longhammer on tap. The dogs, half smokes and cheese steaks are awesome.

Unfortunately the location merits a one star deduction for being so far off the beaten path. However there are two upsides to that. You almost never have to worry about parking and it is also away from the other stainful bars in the surrounding area. Undoubtedly the best bar on capitol hill.

It's a bit off the Hill in location.  Which is a great thing because the proportion of political talk at the bar decreases substantially from places like Pourhouse that are closer to the Hill.  Trusty's used to be my go-to for pregaming Nationals games as they had a bus that went from Trusty's to RFK.  After the unfortunate move to Nationals Park, I stopped coming to Trusty's as often.  Luckily we have friends that live a block away, so it comes into the rotation once in a while.

It draws a weird crowd of mid 20's people and old timers.  I like the eclecticness of the place.  They also offer tons of board games which I think makes it a welcoming atmosphere that you can show up to and just hang for a few hours.  The happy hour deals are great, and I love that draft beers are served in a mason jar.  It makes me think I'm getting a nice Dark and Stormy due to the jar, but instead it's filled with tasty liquid bread.

Trusty's is pretty much the only place in this neighborhood I'd go to, but it's a fine place for any random night.  It's too bad it's not as good of a pregame Nationals site, and thinking about it makes me wistful for the RFK era of the Nationals when tickets were cheap, crowds were sparse, ushers were non-existent, and Trusty's was a good pregame happy hour spot.

I really like this place, it's in a great location, its never to busy and the lighting is great. Not to mention that they have a wide variety of games for you to play with like many of the bars on H street. They also serve the H street beer of choice... PBR, or 3dollers

However, let this be a warning... do not go in there wearing clothing you dont want smelling like a greasy spoon! It is unfortuniate that the kitchen that is located behinde the bar does not ventalate at all.

I hae to say if this doesn't change soon, I'm not sure how often i will return.

Definitely my favorite hill bar - largely because I'm generally the only political douchebag in the joint. The atmosphere is laid back, with lots of bartenders from other bars hanging out here. Drunken Jenga and Connect 4, as others have mentioned, provide plenty entertainment.

The beer is solid and the hot dogs / smokers are fine. I've never tried the chili, so that'll be the game plan on my next visit.

The other reviewers are correct, the patrons can sometimes give you funny looks. This place isn't ridiculously pretentious, though, just the right amount.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Trusty's yet.  Guess I need to spend more time writing reviews and less time reading them.

I love this place.  Great jukebox.  Always smells like grease since the food is cooked on a grill behind the bar.  Friendly staff.  And can I say great jukebox again?  Just a great place to get a reasonably priced drink and talk.  Or play one of the board games they provide.

Only thing is that if you go on a less bar-oriented night like Tuesday, it will be completely dead and they'll have the volume on the TVs on instead of the jukebox.  I guess maybe that's a plus for people who like sports but not for me.  I like to go on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday when I'm in the mood to sit and talk with someone.

Oh my that smell of Worcestershire and beef is intoxicating! Trusty's has many things going for it. It's a stumble from the potomac metro, so you don't actually have to hang out near potomac. Woo-hoo! The decor is of course Trendy Truckstop, and I have to say someone worked very hard on all the art in here. I really appreciated the rear-view mirror collage in the ladies b'room and the scented tree above the toilet was a nice touch.

I would call their cheeseburger a safe bet, go-to bar food burger, and I'd get it again. I sortof liked that it came with chips so I didn't overdose on fries instead. Nice selection of board games and a good crowd. They also had cool tunes goin' on, and I would've given Trusty's a 5 star, but the music was waaay too loud. I'm not that square, I just prefer to shout conversation, instead of scream it across the table.

The pitchers are pricey - unless you're sticking with bud, so be careful.

And don't forget about Big Buck Hunter! I figured out the technique: you gotta go ballistic on those bucks -  just don't shoot the cows!

Must love Trusty's. I started coming here post-softball games last year, and here I am in my second season of softball, and we still keep coming back for more (it helps that Trusty's has sponsored our softball team this year...)

Most pitchers are ca. $10 range - a very small price to pay for post game rowdiness. I haven't really ventured outside of my usual order, but if you are a new comer to Trusty's, and are of the omnivore persuasion, then it's imperative you try one of their CHEESEBURGERS ($6). Bar none, these cheeseburgers are the best I've had in DC: they make all their own patties, so you know you're not getting a pre-processed patty (like at McDonald's, et al). All hamburgers are served with a side of Ruffles potato chips, which I think is a nice break from the standard fry fare.

Gaming: Trusty's has a number of games, most notably Connect 4 and JEEEENGA (it's the "drunken version" with dares on the Jenga blocks).

The bar is located about 100 feet from the entrance to the Potomac Ave (Blue/Orange line) metro stop. Not exactly the most convenient spot, but it's definitely worth the trip.

I'm a big fan of local hole-in-the-wall dive bars and I REALLY tried to like Trusty's, but I am going to have to break their string of five star reviews.

This past weekend, before moving to Miami, a longtime "Hill Rat" friend of mine chose Trusty's for her farewell celebration.  There were probably 20-30 of us that passed through the bar during the course of the evening. Admittedly, we were probably pretty loud, but never rowdy. For a place that prides itself on being friendly, I noticed more than a few "we don't take kindly to strangers" sneers from the other patrons.

Cold shoulders aside, the real downer for me personally was the price of beer. After buying two pitchers to share with the group, I was out nearly $40! Dive bar comfort with strip club prices is such a strange paradox.

I have to continue the trend of outstanding reviews.  This could easily become anyone's Cheers! bar.  It gets two thumbs up, a big grin and ***** (5 stars).
Friendly staff and neighbors.  Some of the quickest drinking street bums I've ever seen and a great place to catch the game you don't want to miss if you refuse to pay for cable like me.
Hope to see you at the bar.
