TS Paisan's Pizza & Grill

Convenient location, very friendly owner, large portions at a decent price- and the food, not bad! Nothing fancy but hit the spot when I needed it. For $5.06 (incl. tax) you get two hot dogs and fries, which was my order of choice. All things considered I would definitely not mind coming back when I'm feeling lazy and craving greasy goodness.

This is a sorry, sorry place, much to my chagrin, since I live around the corner. I still remember rejoicing at the sight of it when I moved in a few years ago. I so wanted it to be the place to satisfy my occasional late-night craving for something greasy, heavily spiced, and certainly bad for me! A fast-food place with a menu that covers pretty much everything from pizza through burgers and sandwiches to Greek/Middle-Eastern fare? As someone raised in the Balkans and not too worried about the occasional calorie overload, I thought I was set for life! Unfortunately, this place does not deliver at all! I've eaten there twice, and I utterly regret the second time. As they say - if you fall for it once, it's not your fault. If you fall for it twice, you're a fool. Well, I'm a fool. Both times, I tried items they advertise on their storefront - a gyro sandwich the first time, and a kefta kebab sandwich the second time. Honestly, I've never tasted anything so bland and so small in terms of a portion (thank god for the smallness, actually!), and without even the most standard accompaniments I've come to expect in this country. Do not be fooled by the reasonable prices! You'll have wasted every cent! This place's fare is utterly unsatisfying both in terms of quality and quantity! Both the gyro and the kefta kebab sandwiches I had were diminutive and served in a recently frozen and barely reheated pita. The meat had the gummy texture and unidentifiable taste of something I imagine to be the result of sinister and later discarded experiments at a secret lab run by Dr. Moreau, or Dr. Evil, of you wish... All of this "goodness" accompanied by three limp strips of lettuce and no sauce at all, in the case of the kefta kebab sandwich... They've certainly seen the last of me. I'm really puzzled by the fact that they have survived for quite a few years, apparently, in a rather spacious place, and that they've received a number of good reviews. People, seriously, not even being drunk can result in good reviews for this place!
