Tugboat Annies

Stopped in for lunch and had an oyster poboy sandwich with a beer. Oysters were yummy but the lettuce was old and icky. Fries were nasty! Service was super slow!

We love Tugboat Annies, especially for their Eggs Benedict for breakfast. Very casual atmosphere and attentive wait staff. It is hard to find a decent waterfront restaurant that is not overly expensive in Olympia, but this is it. Can't beat the views from the large windows of the marina. There always seems to be some kind of boat coming or going.

I'm surprised tugboat Annie's only has 3 stars overall...
My hubby surprised me by taking me here after pestering him about never taking me kayaking before.
It's located in a nautical marina in Olympia. The restaurant is decked out with vintage collections of tin trays adorning the old timber rafters, model sailboats hanging from the ceiling, that sort of thing. It's cluttered with decor, in a good, tasteful way. Windows overlooking the water and marina, comfy booths.

We went during the morning and enjoyed a brunch/kayaking special. More than enough food for me, and you know how I am- cheap with a big appetite! I had a veggie omelet with crispy potato wedges and a HUGE thick slice if toast. Coffee and refills came with the special :)

We were allowed 2 hours to kayak. Let me tell you... On a windy day as it was, 2 hours is more than enough time to wrestle the waves!
It was fun! The equipment was updated and safe, kayaking directions were clear. This was my first time doing so and it was easy peasy.
We saw 2 seal pups. As we were kayaking my hubby told me to look back. I did and there was a little seal face about 2-3 yards behind me with his head popped out of the water's surface. Cute! Kinda scary... I think he raced us underwater to then meet up with us again.

When we arrived back to return our gear and pay the place was way busy! So go early.

Our waiter was very professional and helpful. He did an awesome job serving us and explaining things.

I'd recommend it based on my experience.
