Ugly Mug Bar & Grill

OoOoh the Ugly Mug, what more could you ask for in a dive bar?!  Empty barstools, save a few regulars.. A menu consisting of minimal food options promising maximum heartburn and, of course, A staff that at first entrance wouldnt care if you walked in topless or in a money suit, they still wouldnt give a damn.  But, that's exactly what we were expecting from an establishment called, The Ugly Mug.
You enter, you sit, you order a basic draft beer,, and THen,, the magic begins...  
ou can have a conversation in your own head, without being bothered.. Or, you can converse loudly with old friends, without being bothered.. You can order food you'd never eat in public and enjoy it, privately.. And then just as soon as your done with your "dont bother me" time, Thats when the waitress chimes in and asks if you need a refill, or second or third or however far in drink-land you are and she come's into the picture Just in Time.. Surprisingly friendly and far more welcoming then when you first entered.  Then the random conversation with other ugly muggers begins and all of sudden you're in a world all of your own.  A wonderful world, free of rules, clocks and sunlight (which you don't often realize until you leave to see that the sun's still shining, or maybe in some cases- shining once again.. It's called a Dive Bar.  You don't come here for the cleanliness, the service and definitely not for the food.  You go to Dive bars for the Experience, whether it be the alone time you need or the new friends you make. Anything goes at a dive bar, and with my short time in Florida, I'd have to say that the Ugly Mug is on the list of the best.

The Ugly Mug...that about sums it up. I think they're the only place in the area that stays open after 2am. And just like your momma told you- 'nothing good happens after midnight', and its even worse here.

It is the perfect dive bar for those nights when you just want to keep going. Good beers on tap, juke box, pool table, Philly cheese steaks? Yup, Philly cheese steaks. I didn't try one, but they looked amazing. Cheers!
