Uncle Sammy's Sandwich Classics

Uncle Sammy's is one of the things you know you've consumed as a drunk Depaul student and later regret the next morning.

I used to live in the student housing right above Uncle Sammy's so it was my designated cheap-eat-while-drunk spot before going to bed. Since they're open til 2am on weekends and are located right on campus, they know what they're doing.

I used to get the californian (vegetarian) or the atlantic city (tuna) and they're both just mediocre. I find this a step above jimmy johns because the brownies here are pretty good but I always felt gross after eating here. The decor is cheesy inside and the people working there are usually out of it. I vowed to not eat there again after never being satisfied and literally feeling sick to my stomach each time. The bread is pretty hard and overly chewy and the ingredients are way too cold. P.S. The chips suck too.

Sorry Sammy, you're only good for the drunk Depaulians.

In terms of made-fast sandwich shops, this place is one of the best. The bread is AMAZING and the mozzarella tastes super fresh. Everything I've had thus far on the menu has been nothing less than delicious. Love that they have free delivery for orders $20+ Pretty generous for a guy who has to ride on a bike in all weather conditions - especially when most of the customers ordering delivery are drunk. Great drunk food, btw ;)

it was ok. decent flavor. bread was kind of hard like it was fresh a while ago and hardened up. the meat was ok. i ordered double meat and it really didnt look like double.  kind of cheap. but it was still ok. chip selection was very weak. only kettle flavors and only a couple to choose from. i might return if there is not alot else going on, but who knows, maybe to try something different. staff was nice and friendly
