I'm the type of person who lives to eat & it's a thrill for me to introduce some of my favorite eateries to family & friends. It's taken me numerous years to willingly share a meal with someone else; I'm learning it's better to share a delicious dish together, because you'll always have that food memory.

V Lounge Hawaii is a beautiful example of an eatery that consistently exceeds my expectations (view my first blog post here). I can't sing enough praises about their kiawe wood fired brick oven pizzas; I equate their mouth-watering pizzas to your first love, V Lounge pizzas become the standard which you'll compare every other pizza with.

Whenever I visit V Lounge, I always order their Sopressata pizza made of San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh Mozarella, Parmigiano Reggiano & Sopressata. Even though, I could easily devour this entire pizza by myself,  I decided to save room to try their special: "Corned Beef" & Cabbage with salumi hash, braised cabbage & Dijon (easily my second favorite dish).

If you've never experienced V Lounge pizzas for yourself, I suggest you visit them ASAP. Your taste buds will thank me & you'll indulge in authentic flavors similar to what you'd taste in Naples, I promise you won't leave disappointed.

Whenever I think of V Lounge, I think of pizza! This is such a good alternative to Bar 7. It's less crowded, got better music, and a better crowd. And the pizza never fails!

Really good pizza place disguised as a "lounge."  A bunch of us went to V on a Saturday night after scoping out Side Street and Duck Butt (both super full).  Upon arrival, V was empty and we scored seats easily. It's in a basement and I would have never noticed this place from the street!

We ordered the mushroom pizza, the one with anchovies, and the one with prosciutto (prices ranged from $15-16 each).  They were all very delicious, of thin crust, wood-fired variety.  The crust was super airy and nicely charred.  Ordered a few beers and we were set.

When we left at like 8 or 9, the place was nicely packed.  Would return for the pizza.

Of course the one night I come the pizza oven is broken.
Plenty of people were having a good time dancing to the live DJ.

    Need some pizza....

Got turned on to this place by a friend living in Honolulu.  Fan-freaking-tastic recommendation.  The pizza is KILLER-- and when the dough had shrunk a bit on ours, they gave it to us on the house.  But I would give a lot just to have another of their funghi pizzas!

I also had an originally designed cocktail made by the bartender-- basically an orange gin martini called the Orange Sun.  It was $11, the same price as the weak, fruity, sugary nonsense over at the Hilton.  And it was perfect.

Would go back in a heartbeat!  Especially now that we know right where it is, basically amid Ala Moana parking garages!

    - Pizza is my favorite on the island.  I come here at least once a week.
    - I love the BOCCINCINI!
    - My favorite is the Capicola (I wish they would bring it back!!), I also enjoy the Prima!
    - CAMDEN is my FAVORITE!  Danny and Amber also provide amazing customer service.

We came here to celebrate a friends birthday, and well, much to her dismay, she, nor did any of us, have a great experience.  We came at a busy time, however, even when the crowd thinned out, our server was rarely at our table.  We had to go to the bar several times to order our drinks, but even at the bar, they made us wait even though there was no one before us.

They have some good pizza, and a pretty good selection of drinks (im a scotch person and they had some scotches that I really enjoy), but what really bummed us out was that the place really seemed under-staffed.  We had a hard time ordering anything, and when we did, our server either got our order wrong or was missing something.

Personally, I would try this place again, but Im in no hurry to do so any time soon.  The vibe is cool, but the service wasnt so great.

This review is for Vlounge - the late night bar. I've never been here before midnight.

V lounge is a great in between for those who may just want to sit in the booths and scream at each other over the music or dance by the dj. It always brings a good crowd consisting mostly of locals. My friends and I usually hit up Vlounge on Friday night after going downtown since its open till 4am.

Pizza is the thing to get here if you are looking for late night grubs. Beware, it aint cheap, especially for the size of pizza. A guy could probably eat the whole thing by himself. They run from $16-20. A little steep in my opinion but at least the crust is thin and they have unique pizzas like the Prima which has a cracked egg on top of slice of pancetta, onions, and oyster mushrooms swimming in truffle oil. On a recent visit I bought an Italian sub to hit my $20 minimum on the credit card. It was massive and I had to bring half home. It was a nice alternative to the pizza if you are looking for something different than the usual.

Just because of the steep prices of the pizza it won't keep me from coming late night. The bartenders always seem to hook it up and I never have to wait too long for a drink. Till next time Vlounge :)

    ALL ABOUT THAT PRIMA PIZZA

I have always gone to Bar 7, but not to Vlounge for a while.  About a year ago, my friend Dianne G. told me she was hungry while we were at Bar 7 and pulled me through a little dark hallway between two of the bars.  We walk into this room with light hardwood floors and some pop music playing.  I seriously didn't even know something so clean was attached to Bar 7.   She ordered a whole Prima Pizza for $16 (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/v-lounge-honolulu?select=GWIa4vLdRXMOZqCWVy2pNQ#GWIa4vLdRXMOZqCWVy2pNQ">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>).

This was the most amazing thing ever! LIKE BIBLE! THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD.  The pizza has Pancetta (an Italian and creation bacon), onions, fresh mozzarella, parsley, thyme, tomato sauce, truffle oil and topped with egg yolk.  They used to put oyster mushrooms, but they recently stopped.  At first I was thought it was weird to eat raw egg on my pizza and then I thought of salmonella; but I was too drunk and hungry that first time.  It was made to perfection.  The crust was nice and toasty and the toppings just blended awesomely.  It is a pretty wet slice of pizza so I learned to fold it inwards so that all the juicy goodness stays in.  You have to fold it or else all the topping will slip off.  I was fine the next morning so from then on, I try my best to get a pizza to go every time I am at Bar 7.  The pizza is made fresh in a Kiawe wood brick fried oven.  You could see them putting in the freshly made raw pizza into their brick oven.  100% deliciousness.

I always share this amazing pizza to people around me when I order my pizza and I will continue promoting this place and their Prima Pizza.  AMAZINGNESS!!!!!

REMEMBER!!! Fold that Prima Pizza slice!

Warning! The entrance looks a bit sketchy but it's okay!  I let my friend walk in first just to check! Haa.

Primadonna girl wants some Prima!  Unfortunately, some kind of ingredient was out and the waitress girl told me that the chef rather not makes it than sacrifice the taste of the pizza.  Me likey the sacrifice, but tha was too bad.  Margherita was delicious!! The waitress was super nice and attentive.  The question is when I will return... Tomorrow perhaps.

    Update:
This is still the best place for pizza! I love the atmosphere and.   Got the pizza with prosciutto (?) on it this time.  Amazing! Also according to the lovely waitress that' helped us, they are taking the mushrooms off the menu so if you are picky about that--heads up.  Service from the same waitress as the first and she was very sweet and attentive to our table.  Come back here--YES!

    Update:
Haha, apparently this was a "draft" this whole time... Anyways, the other day I came here our pizza was pretty burnt.  I basically scraped and ripped off parts of the crust.  Talk about cancer.  This goes to say, that not even V-Lounge is 100% with their pizza, but the service ceases to please me.  Will be back again!

    Prima is winna!

I love beer and pizza as much as the next guy, and this place serves the goods.  The pizza is very good.  The crust is airy and not oily.  Prima is my favorite pizza for this place.

I came here for Halloween and they had on a random horror flick that was cause for some interesting conversations and fun times!

The bar is connected to Bar 7 and seems to put off a more laid back vibe than the bar 7 area, which is more like a club.  I've been here during a busy night and I totally like bar more when it's less crowded.  I might sound like a old man, but it's true.

    Yelp 31 days Challenge: 23/31

My quest for a prosciutto pizza started at Bar 35, however, they don't open until 4pm, and no one picked up the phone, so I had to walk down there and try to place my order, but when I got there, they said that they don't start the oven until 5pm.  Then, I try to go to Inferno's, but they ran out of prosciutto last night.  Seriously, how can you run out?????  Then, I tried Z Pizza, but they don't offer it on their menu.  How could they not????  After an hour of driving and searching, I decided to go to V Lounge, where I know they have a prosciutto pizza on their menu, just hope that they didn't run out.  I called them on the phone, they picked up quickly and took my order.  My pizza was ready in 25 minutes, I scuffed down half of the pizza in 5 minutes.

Lesson learned: Craving can be very dangerous!

Darts, drinks, and pizza, good times.  The place is clean and comfortable, with a low profile feel.

I tried 3-4 of their pizzas with some friends, I am very sad to say that I wasn't taken with any of them.  They were obviously quality pizzas, but the tastes didn't thrill me, and neither did the style of pizza.  It was strange how they have that burnt crust thing going on, yet the pizza itself is flimsy and falling apart in the center.  When you pick up a slice to take that first delectable bite and you need to break the crust to try to fold it just enough to get that tip to aim toward you - but all it does is hang there, refusing to stand straight...  you will be faced with a decision.

    A.  "Special Delivery"  Lift pizza above face, tilt head back, and carefully lower pizza to your mouth.  Quick, simple.  Caution, high risk of oil leak and topping spillage.  Must be executed swiftly.

    B.  "Re-prioritization"  Put down beer, reassign hand to assist in delivery.  Not recommended.

    C.  "Last Resort"  Slowly, discreetly, lower pizza to plate.  In one fluid motion, pick up utensils, cut pizza, and deliver.  This is unnatural and considered by some, to be an abomination.  May provoke harsh response from friends, family, even strangers.  Pick up pizza in between bites to give impression of normality.

The Margherita was good, simple, seems you can't go wrong with that.  I did not like the Prima.  I love eggs, I eat them every way you can, including over easy.  But egg yolk dripping off my pizza? it's not appealing, and it was not good.  I wouldn't get it again.   We also got the Sorpressatta, and one other.  I preferred all of those over the Prima.

Overall I dig the place and what they are doing.  Quality (sometimes local) ingredients, kiawe wood fired brick oven.  They have a mission and that's great, I respect that.  Unfortunately when it comes to the pizza - and the prices of that pizza - they're pretty low on my list.

This place just keeps getting better and better.

    - The music here is hipster cool. I dig it.
    - Service has gotten a lot friendlier. I really enjoyed our servers the last couple of times.
    - They have new specials. Their wood fired pesto cauliflower topped with white anchovies is amazing!
    - They no longer serve mushrooms of any sort, but the Prima pizza is still money.

I really really really want to give this place 5 stars. And I will update my review as soon as I can.

    Let's start with the positives:
The pizza is SO ONO! I love the crust. My husband and I had one pizza and had to order another because we were fighting for the last piece. We had the CAPICOLA first...and then the MELANZANA. The Capicola was perfection. The Melanzana was super good, the eggplant was on the salty side for me but my husband loved it. and we just needed more beer to wash it down.

The two waitresses that were totally working the room together were super great. They rocked and rolled around tag-teaming every table. We were tehre when it was packed (a couple of big parties too) and we were never left wanting for a beer (making us very happy customers and that is just good business)

They are missing that star because they were out of lots of topping when I was there. We really wanted to get the Prima (but they were out of mushrooms...sad) the waitress didn't miss a beat though and recommended other pizzas with confidence.

We decided that this will be a regular spot for us....we will take into consideration to watch out for the roaches (thanks for the tip Nikki M)...I mean, if they come by my pizza it's war.

Can I start with Cockaroaches!!! There are tons, we had to kill one when when we got there, i saw four crawling on the wall.  And if anyone watches restaurant impossible, u know that when there are roaches, there is an army of roaches hiding. With that said...

We got the fennel pizza and the sopressatta and the cucumber salad. The fennel pizza is so Ono,and the sopressatta was good, the sauce was a little sour and a little salty. But, there is not enough pizza places in Hawaii so it still ranks high with taste!

4 stars for taste and service but brought down by the roaches.

This place has some serious pizza that puts all the brand name establishments to shame. Service was stellar as Amber took care of us throughout the evening. I was able to sample the Prima and Capicola pizzas which were awesome!

I almost always go for The White Pizza if any joint has it on the menu, and V Lounge has a pretty good version, coming with Mozzarella, Ricotta Salatta, and topped off with arugula. The Crust is killer and perfectly done, but this white pizza is begging for some sweetness. Since you got saltiness from the Mozzarella and the peppery bite of the arugula, some roasted garlic would be nice, or even better, switch to a sweet, creamier ricotta and lose the salatta.

If you're ever looking for some serious 'Za on Oahu, stop in at the V Lounge...ALOHA!!!

On the outside you don't expect this place to look like much, but damn, when you walk in, you are proven very wrong. Beautiful interior, comfortable seating and lots of TVs all around. Plus a great looking bar area. But, we came for the food...so onto that.

Our waitress was extremely helpful. We were already set on the Prima, and I wanted the Prosciutto, but she suggested a special, which was the White Pizza. It had onions, mozzarella, some other white cheese, thyme, and pancetta, if I remember correctly. The food came out very quickly and I had their yellow hot sauce ready.

Prosciutto - Tons of arugula and copious amounts of prosciutto, talk about fresh tasting. This one was great. Though, if you aren't a fan or aren't sure about arugula, I might stay away...it can be a little much with the other more subtle flavors on the pizza.

White - Tons of cheese, just the right amount of onions, thyme, and meat. Glad we went with the special. I'm excited to see what else they have.

Prima - Yes, the prime example of what pizza should be. This pie from heaven is definitely one that needs to be tried by all. Freshness from the thyme and parsley. Tastiness from the pancetta and cheese. And Epicness from the egg yolk and truffle oil. I love the amount of truffle oil they used, not so much that it overpowers everything else, but just the right amount where it compliments the other stronger flavors without being left out. Perfection.

Park in the lot in Ala Moana and just walk across. Yes, it is a little pricey for the size. BUT, you are getting high quality ingredients and a damn good pizza with it, so shut up. We got 3 pizzas, and this was more than enough for 3 people (2 guys, 1 girl), easily could have had leftovers if my friend and I weren't starving.

Sometimes I wait after multiple visits to give a spot a review. No, it's not because I'm waiting for things to get better, it's because the food is always consistently good.

    I looooooooooooooooove pizza.

The first time I walked in here they were checking I.D.s like it was a club. I didn't get it. When I walked in here with visiting friends, the interior was empty. But I really liked th sports bar, all wood, feel to the inside.

The waitress is consistently nice, but there is only one for the entire place so do not come here if you are in hurry. Come here to enjoy your company and conversation.

Now that it's under The Republik I will have a consistent pre-concert spot to eat at. The only downside is that I know others will probably do the same.

Oh, the only negative: no pitchers of beer. Yea, bummer.

This is my go-to, in-my-rotation spots to take friends.

V Lounge has increased it's menu to more items besides the Pizza and they are really good!

Service is spot on with Amber who make the whole experience very enjoyable with her bubbly demeanor.

Actually: 3 1/2 stars....  Not my fav pizza place to go, but it's open late and my friends CRAVE their pizza here. Prima: yes!

That being said: we came here wanting our pizza fix around 9pm "not serving food now, but will be soon...  Waiting on the dough to rise". Sure, no problem and worth the wait....  When it was time to order, the four of us ordered 3 pizzas (btw, I was the only dude between us, high five), the Prima ran out of Hamakua mushrooms, but we went with the order anyways.

A few minutes later we asked for a replacement/side of anchovies for the Prima. Waitress took a while to see if the cook would allow such request. An what she came back with is this: "first he said 'no' than felt "generous" and said 'yes' BUT we would be charged extra." that's fine....sorta; me thinks to myself: "why can't you just replace the shrooms with the anchovies since you're making a big deal about how "generous" your cook is?".  The Prima is not a Prima without the shrooms?!

Anyway, I forgot what other pizza we ordered, but our 3rd pizza was the white pizza, which I liked the best. It was their special for that night.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE v lounge!

After re-reading my first entry, I realized how little justice it did to such a quality establishment and its scrumtrulecent pizza. So here is a more detailed review of the place.

This place is great for all times of the night--whether you want to grab dinner earlier in the evening, or whether you have late-night cravings for food and zippy's just won't cut it. Their pizza is what champions are made of. The kiawe wood-burning brick oven. The amazingly fresh and tasty and high quality ingredients. The way the pizza looks when it comes out. Goodness me. Yeah, the place is that good.

Even if the place is ridiculously rowdy and crowded on a weekend night, the staff is cool with making a pizza for you and finding where you're sitting. The menu has changed maybe once or twice me thinks (?) since it opened three years ago, and I believe I have tried almost all of them.
My favorites on the current menu are the Capicola (san marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and capicola, which i think is something akin to salami), the Proscuitto Rucola (proscuitto and arugula go really well together!), and the Boquerones (the one with anchovies and chili pepper water on it--the anchovies really add a saltiness to the pizza that complements the tomato sauce well; but if you don't like anchovies, this pizza is clearly not for you)

Go to V-Lounge! Chances are i'll probably run into you.

V-Lounge is like that special place that everyone used to love and now, where is the love, I tell you Hawaii people, where is the L-O-V-E!  If you loved this place before then you will still love it now....

    WHY?

Straight good pizza.  How can you go wrong with prosciutto, salami, fresh veggies and cheeses?  In a brick oven?  Come on now.  You gotta do that pizza like yesterday's news.  And now they have special sandwiches....yes, I said special sandwiches....check the board out cause their specials are a winner too.

Service is champ. I don't know who these other people got as their servers but I have had Amber as our server a few times and she is quick, witty, fun, and just "takes care" of us.

Check out happy hour 2 dollar wells and domestic beers too!  What is better with a pizza than a 2 dollar beer????  MMMMMMMMMMM good stuff.

The place is pretty nice with the dim mood lighting and the cozy areas to sit and chat with a friend.  There is enough sound to keep a good mood (music) but not blaring in
your face loud like some other places.

The bathrooms are clean and the parking is plentiful on the side of the building.

So seriously, what are you waiting for?  A personal invitation?  Well, you ain't getting one so just get your tush over there and have some good stuff in your grill.

Enjoy and give Blaine and Amber a holla from me....

Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! oh and they serve alcohol too if you are of age.

I've been here once for a fundraiser and going away party.  I must admit the place is really small so if you have a huge party of 100 people be prepared to be squished like sardines.  I for one do not like places being crowded like that.

Pizza is so good I don't even remember what was ordered but there were three different ones.  I enjoyed it quite a bit.

    Service was quick and polite.

Parking:  Street parking and in the little parking lot next door where Bar 7 is.  If you want to chance it, you can park at Ala Moana.

    Between a 3 and a 4

    The Good:
    * Pizza Variety and Specialty - great choices
    * You can park at Ala Moana and walk over
    * Small joint, I like it like that
    * Pizza was so yummy.

    The Bad:
    * Service was horrible, the girl that served us was giving us so much attitude. I felt like she was giving us attitude because she felt that one of my friends didn't really speak english too well, but my friend understands and speaks fine. She just has an accent. I felt it was completely disrespectful and uncool of her. Made our first time experience here not a good one. LUCKILY, the pizza made this visit just a little more worth it.
    * Although the pizza is delicious and one of it's kind, my opinion was that the ratios of how much dough, sauce, and toppings are on one pizza was off. The whole topping of my pizza completely slipped off the dough without any effort. Ofcourse it was f**king delicious, but I thought the whole idea of pizza is making the effort to find out what ratio works well with what toppings.

    The Weird:
    * Although it's small, there were only several numbers of tables... I wonder how busy it actually gets for them to make enough $$ hmmmmmmmm. They have many loyal customers, so I'm sure they make many $$!

Truth be told, I'll probably visit again... when I'm ready for a delicious and sloppy pizza

OMG. Yes, it's a hole in the wall... but did I mention... best, unique pizzas I've ever had the chance to NOM-NOM on!
Venue has never been crowded the times I've been there. And the service is hella above average.
I always order the Prima. I know, it may sound like such a turn-off to have a cracked egg on your pizza. But trust me, it's bomb-dig dipping sauce for those savory slices.
My tummy is grumbling at the thought of it as I type this review.
Pizza is mostly made up of local produce. Wow! Good food, eating healthy (for the most part) and helping out the local farms?! Go You!
Most nights, they offer a salad special. I've NEVER been disappointed by any of their salads! It's a must order to go with that pizza of yours.
    Did I mention this is also a bar? Alcohol + pizza is never a bad combo! (;

    Go on... spoil that tummy of yours. It deserves a treat once in awhile. (;

The fact that I have only now experienced V-Lounge, is one that brings me great sadness, with a sprinkling of excitement.  Why did I wait so long?  What a fool!

To anyone passing by, it doesn't look like much:  a hole in the wall with a modest white sign across from Ala Moana Shopping Center.  Big deal, right?

Everyone told me there was pizza and beer.  No one told me that the majority of ingredients is sourced from Italy, or grown locally, and that both the bartender (Danny) and the biker-looking dude in the kitchen have some heavy chops when it comes to talking about food.  I love to think I'm pretty knowledgeable with different foods, but I left V-Lounge feeling extremely humbled by all the food facts thrown at me that night.

I will slow down.  First, we'll talk about the food itself.  Then, I'll rant about the ridiculously low prices of both food and drink.  Last, we'll review why I feel V-Lounge is maybe one of my top three favorite bars now.

There's a Specials Board tacked up near the kitchen entrance, adjacent to the bar, littered with Italian words I didn't know, and combinations of ingredients that all sound delicious.  Oh, and all of them (except the pizza special) are $8 or less.  Poring over these options, Danny asked us to let him know if we had any questions, and we did.  Those seemingly delicious specials became even more alive, and mouth-watering as he told us about each ingredient, where they each came from, and which ones we should order.

We had a number of dishes.  One was a huge slab of bologna from Italy with an oven-borne crispy shell, served with real brown mustard and a pile of sauerkraut.  Another was a sandwich piled high with three types of thinly sliced meat, and heavily laced with something that tasted like dill pickle juice (in an amazing, not weird way).  Of course, there was the pizza, also.  The glorious, glorious pizza.  The pizza I would not hesitate to call the best I've had in years.

The Prima is an impressive pie covered with real pancetta, bacon, onions, and AN EGG YOLK.  Tonight, there were no Hamakua mushrooms, but the pizza was still incredible.  And yet, the next one was even more impressive.

At first glance, the Prosciutto Rucola is difficult to discern from a salad.  It's a mound of bitter, bitter arugula that hides the pile of smoky, wonderful prosciutto beneath, all on top of the perfect dough, cheese, and sauce.  The way the bitter greens and prosciutto go together is something magical.  It made me think of that scene in Ratatouille where the rat is trying to explain to his dumb rat brother how certain flavor combinations are like music.  My god, it was good.

I stuck to Grolsch, as it was just 3 bucks a pop, and a great easy-to-drink beer with such crazy-good pizza.  We had two rounds of a chili-pepper-water-vodka shot, as advised by Danny.  He was kind to us on the first round, but that second one BURNED and kept on burning for a few minutes.  It's the perfect drink for me, and a great way to wake up late at night.  The food specials are all $8 or less, and the pizzas are generally about $16.  After feeding a party of four, with drinks to boot, our bill was shockingly less than $80.  I expected triple digits.

Though I still love me some Bar 35, the food menu gets old after, oh, I don't know, three years?  It's refreshing to go to a place like V-Lounge, where it's clean and decorated in class, with a knowledgeable and professional staff, and with food that kills.  I will definitely be back here again, and again and attribute my infatuation with the place to the mind-blowingly delicious food at such low prices.

After we ate and ate and ate, I told the bartender, "Your guys' food is legit."  He shrugged, knowingly.  They know what they're serving, and they do it well.

(This review is for pizza only!!!)

Ok prime time to come would be EARLY. Like, right after work EARLY. Before it turns "clubby" and gets disgustingly packed. Plus sometimes they run out of pizza if you go too late anyway. And that's the only thing I'd willingly go there for. So yes, go early.

PRIMA: to dieeeee for. Best pizza I've had to-date.
Pancetta, hamakua mushrooms, sweet caramelized onions, truffle oil (OMG die) and topped with a sunny side up egg. It just works. Everything together is like heaven in your mouth.

So, if I were you, I'd go early, have some pizza and some beers, maybe even shoot some darts because it will be super empty.....just make sure you're out of there before the nightcrowd starts to trickle in....

The only thing I knew about V Lounge prior to my first visit last night was that their pizza is supposedly fantastic.  Other than that I had no idea what to expect or even where to park.  Fortunately, my doubts were soon put to rest as I had a very fun and enjoyable experience.

The group I was with was just finishing up a bar run, and decided V Lounge would be the final stop for the night.  As far as parking is concerned, I didn't want to leave my car on the mall property (Ala Moana Center), so I found street parking on Kapiolani blvd.  I imagine if you stop by late enough there should be ample street parking available.

Walking into V Lounge, I was pleasantly surprised at the size and layout of the place.  I felt like I had walked into someone's basement (haha) as the ceiling was a bit low and the area, although not spacious, was roomy enough for the crowd that was already partying the night away.  To sum it up:  the bar is against one wall, while along the wall directly opposite the bar there are 3-4 booths, 2 couches and tables set against another wall, while there are various bar height tables and chairs spaced throughout the middle of the lounge.  Thankfully, our group had claimed the area with the couches so we had more than enough space to enjoy our drinks and food.

SERVICE:  It was alright from what I observed.  The bartenders/staff filled the drink orders quickly, and cleared up empty glasses, dirty plates and napkins before you could blink an eye.

FOOD:  Although I wasn't hungry, I was invited to try a slice of the Prosciutto Rucola pizza.  The Verdict:  Tremendously good!!  Just a terrific pizza overall.  I was impressed with the generous portions of proscuitto covering the pizza in a thick layer. Lastly, though the pizza was delicious, it was much smaller than I expected.

MUSIC:  Extremely loud yet tasteful.  Don't expect to have a decent conversation here.  I had some difficulty carrying on a discussion with some of the people in our group.

Bottom Line:  I'd like to try some of the other pizzas on the menu.  I'll be back soon hopefully.

Hidden behind Ala Moana shopping center, V Lounge looks like a strip club or bar from the outside. Ok, it looks like a strip joint or a bar on the inside too. I'm rating it as a pizza place, though.

For that, it's amazing: fresh crusts that are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, many delicious non-standard toppings to choose from (prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, truffle oil, just to name a few) and even interesting sauces! The pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven which makes the crusts especially flavorful.

It's pretty dead during dinner hours. It's most popular as an after-party place. So, next time you're considering waiting 45 minutes to be seated at CPK in the mall, consider V Lounge instead! Service is prompt and attentive. This is gourmet pizza and I am shocked to find this caliber of culinary expertise in Hawaii. Much less at such an um... casual setting.

    Upgraded!  5 out of 5.

For those who know me, VLounge has become one of my go to spots.  The location is convenient, my friends are there, and the food is great.  This upgrade has been easily earned in light of a couple things.

    1) Happy Hour.  It currently runs for a few hours offering a selection of beverages at $3.  Everyone likes saving money!

    2) Daily Specials.  This where the lounge has really earned their stripes.  Based upon availability, the kitchen now offers an average of 3 specials now including fresh salads, sandwich, and pizza.  Everything on the special menu has been ridiculously tasty and appropriately priced.  Go in NOW for the beet salad (organic local beets from Ma'o Farms) and if they have it, the roasted pork sandwich.

Basically, it's nice to see the lounge step up and broaden the menu.  I can't wait to eat everything else that comes out of the kitchen.  Go now, order off the special menu, and tell me how much you love me for the suggestion.
