I fly Virgin America for the planes but also because of they fly our of Terminal 2 at SFO (best terminal not only at SFO but one of the best across all airports). It's a neat set up (overpriced but what isn't at the airport) with a fairly good selection of wine and small plates. It's low-key (which I like) as I usuallly want to relax before getting on board my 5-6 hour flights to the east coast. Power outlets are available at most seats I believe which is reason enough to swing by.
Review Source:I'm becoming a fan of these very quickly as I see them popping up in every terminal I have to visit. Â The woman who was working here was quick and friendly, but wasn't annoying when she could see people were doing their own thing or just wanted to space out. Â The wine is good, and yes, of course it's overpriced, it's the airport! Â But, I really like that they give those little informational coasters. Â Definitely hitting this place next time.
Review Source:Grotesquely (offensively) overpriced.
That said, I am always happy to see their sign in an airport, and nearly always grab at least a glass before hopping on a flight.
Adore their petite cheese plate and marcona almonds, as these are exactly what I want for a snack, and at ~$5 are spot on for price point.
Staff is friendly, and surprisingly knowledgeable on their selection of wines and menu items.
I am not the only traveler who appreciates VV, so when they get busy, the staff gets friendly, and goes out of their way to initiate table-sharing, etc. in order to accommodate as many thirsty travelers as they comfortably can. Â Rather fun, actually, to see who you may run into or makes friends with!
I hate flying, so Vino Volo is a great place to get liquored at Terminal 2 before your flight.
The prices are reasonable for wine at a U.S. Airport. Â We're talking about $8 for a glass of the house wine. Â There are a plethora of wine options to choose from, and there are also
The staff is friendly and helpful. Â Tables are adjacent to outlets, so you can charge your laptop, iOS devices etc. before your flight.
This place is a great way to unwind on your way out of town. Â I've visited at several airports and I've never been disappointed. Â I recommend you try some of the top flights...especially if you don't normally order the $70+ bottles. Â You'll get to see what you are missing...and the cards help identify the wine components that appeal.
Review Source:Excellent place to decompress before a flight out of the beautiful Terminal 2 at SFO. Â The service is excellent and the wines are outstanding, each coming with some short but sweet tasting notes and that improve the experience. Â The tasty little bites look delicious, though I have never ordered. Â I will next time but just wasn't hungry. Â The whole terminal is nice, but this is certainly a good choice to pass some liquid times.
Review Source:Delicious wine flights and awesome bar company!
Terminal 2 is pretty snazzy, not gonna lie. The walk-in wine bar, Vino Volo, totally follows suit. Excellent service, reasonable prices (for an airport), and a good variety of wine to choose from.
I met a new friend on my flight out, and had some nice casual conversation on the layover back.
Returning customer if ever I find myself in SFO again? You betcha.
damn this place and its delicious wine and food. i blew over $40 here before my flight home!
i think i was caught up with the novelty of how classy a place like this is to be right located right inside an airport. apparently its a chain with locations all over.
the wine is no bargain, thats for sure. i got a red variety (forget the name, not typical) from chili for $9. but it was a really great wine...and only $24 for a bottle. i was tempted :)
they have a nice assortment of bites. we got the penne and the chicken salad (goat cheese, cranberries, pine nuts), which were both really tasty. i can produce the same on my own for much less...but if needing food while in the airport its a great choice to feel ripped off as usually, but validated at least by tasting good, fresh, and well made.
If you are using Virgin, have to stop here (if you like wine)
Nice-sized wine bar, perfect for some time-killing before your flight.
limited selection but very nice, seasonably priced, nice service great cheese plates and meat plates. you can also buy the wine and drink here with corkage fee applied.
What an awesome concept, finally, of a wine bar at the airport! Â Somebody's answering my prayers. Â A godsend find, especially having a six hour layover. Â Might as well drink some of those hours away.
Cool selection of flights to satisfy any wallet. Â Decided on the very reasonable $8 Latin flight: Â Chilean Carmenere, Argentinian Malbec and a Spanish Grenache. Â All very yummy, brimming with New World fruit and earthy tones. Â I nursed those puppies, struck up conversations with an Australian bloke at the bar and the woman behind it. Â Effortless, the time slipped away.
This is one of the most civilized ways to wait for your flight. Â Good drink, yummy nibbles, entertaining customers (and I don't mean me)!
You are far enough from the gate to not hear screaming children. Â You are close enough that it will only take you 2 minutes to get to your gate.
Bonus: The Market next door has amazing food that you can bring over and eat.
Great wine bar nestled inside the SFO airport. I hit this place up before my 2pm flight, so it was pretty empty, but it was nicely decorated and the waitress was great. Knew a lot about the wines and was just nice in general. Flights differ based on type of wine or region of country, and they have a great selection of small bites. I tried the  salmon rolls and the prosicutto and brie crostinis, and both were delicious. They have several airport locations across the country if you're a frequent jet setter, and I believe they have a wine club you can sign up for.
Review Source:Going wino here is easy, they have a great selection of regional wines and scrumptious food. Best part is that as its after security, you can take your purchases on the plane so long as they are still corked. What is odd though is if you choose to drink a bottle there, they charge you a corking fee? It's not enough I bought the wine there which you know is marked up because of the location? They do have a wine club so you can get a good discount if you're a frequent traveler.
Review Source:What a nice wine bar right smack in the middle of SFO. Yes, wine bar in an airport - might sound weird to people, but this was perfect for me considering after I went through security, I knew I wanted a glass of wine. I was about to embark on a red eye and wanted a glass to wind down and relax.
The bartender was nice, and my glass of wine that I had - 2009 Poggio Vignoso Chianti from Fattoria Bibbiani Winery - was delicious. And, another reason why I loved this wine bar is proven by my remembering exactly what kind of wine I had - instead of placing your wine directly on the counter or on a napkin, they have these customized "coasters". Well, it's a square shaped piece of paper with all of the details of the exact wine that you have ordered. The information is encircled by a circle, which is the exact size as the bottom of the wine glass. The bartender placed my wine glass on top of it and when I lifted it up and noticed there was a description for exactly what I was drinking, I loved it!
very clean, nice selections, nice girls working the bar-- perfect spot to knock out some pre-flight anxiety.
I like the little description cards that come with the wine you order-- I ordered a split of champagne the bar tender recommended which was ok, nothing special but did the trick.
you can buy a bottle and take it on the plane, but you hafta wait til you land to pop it..... sigh....
still a good pit-stop before a flight tho?
Good stop if you have some time before a flight (30 mins is enough). They serve wine flights here, which is nice, and bites of food. I particularly like the fact that they have small portions of every dish which  is around $5. These are definitely good as snacks and a fine complement to the wine.
Of course the price still runs on the high side, but it's an airport eatery and I'm willing to take this over overpriced airport Burger Kings any day.
The waitresses are very nice and warm, which is great for the tired traveller. Needless to say I'd be back here if I'm in the terminal and am looking for a bite.
I LOVE that there's now a wine bar in T2!! Â
Prices are a ltitle bit steep but what do you expect at an airport. Â They sell wine by the glass or by the bottle. Â For a greater selection, you can also purchase wine at the shop next door, and bring it over for $20 corkage. Â
They also have a food menu to satisfy your cravings.
The servers were super friendly, recommended great wine, and gave us compliments on how "young" we looked when we were ID'd. Â Vino Volo makes for a great stop before a long dreaded flight!
Wanted to grab a quick bite to eat in Terminal 2 at SFO and found this little gem. Vino Volo offers half meals which is nice for people on the go.
I had a delicious prosciutto sandwich for only $6, which is amazing for being at the airport.
The bartenders also seemed very well versed and helpful when it came to the wine selections.
I only wish they had one of these in the city of San Francisco instead of just at the airport!
A beautiful wine by the glass shop, <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia2.px.yelpcdn.com%2Fbphoto%2FzLGB8uRZI2Kii0ZdhtZClQ%2Fl&s=75e72ca300cb7ec9ff30919abcf0d4424929e7e20015e116b83474ad67785be1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://media2.px.yelpcdn…</a> located next to Napa Farms Market. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia2.ct.yelpcdn.com%2Fbphoto%2FmrFHfey24lzMuXds2Wo8ww%2Fl&s=a57b453ca1fb7f3fb393b23044bc18b8835350d6495d983ef6feef899cb22ee2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://media2.ct.yelpcdn…</a> I assume that u can bring food from the marketplace to enjoy with your glass of wine. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia1.ct.yelpcdn.com%2Fbphoto%2FXYo1lwzm6ZsxZxbXBHtsWQ%2Fl&s=dc612b5df98e46755c6f940004c01261dd4499a6315b633ac2c6a6b69961dc0e" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://media1.ct.yelpcdn…</a> They have multiple locations at many airports around the country, including Sacramento and Oakland airports. This is the first SF location at terminal 2 (for flight passengers only), but I've heard that they also plan to open a retail store in downtown SF.
For this inaugural day they were offering a 3 sampler tasting for $10.
Hours: daily 9am-11pm
SFO provides free WiFi inside terminal 2.
