No trip to Savannah (or Charleston) should go without an alcoholic brain freeze. But apparently I was the only person in my gang who thought drinking grain alcohol is totally fine (and it is). They have 3 sizes to offer, but I always stick with the $6 smallest one. They don't taste as good once melted, and $6 size is best for that reason in my opinion.
Also, they charge by size and not by amount of alcohol. So why would someone order anything other than Call A Cab (cherry flavor, not for me) or Attitude Improvement (orange flavor, my go-to)?? Those are the only 2 that have grain alcohol and rum in it. Â Is it toxic, probably, but I swear you can't taste it. Â To lighten it up, I did mix my Attitude Improvement with Naked Willie (which only has rum, but is sugar free) on 2 (out of 3) occasions. There are multiple locations, one on River Street, one in City Market, and one over on Tybee Island. And yes, I had one from each :)
Don't forget you can walk and sip in Savannah. And oh, they serve food, but really, who eats there?
This place can not be beat in the dreadful humid summer months. Â A cold, slurpee like drink always hits the spot. Â Add some grain alcohol in to the mix? Â You've got me sold. Â I have not had a meal here, as this was always the "go to spot" for relief from the summer heat in the few trips I have taken to Savannah.
Review Source:I wasn't familiar with Wet Willies, but when a friend heard I was in Savannah she suggested we give them a try. Â So, one warm evening while strolling around River Street we popped in to try them. Â Loved 'em! Â The helpful young lady serving up the adult style slushies offered up samples of different flavors so that we could try before you buy. Â I went with a Creamsicle... my companion had Sex on the Beach. Â Both were really, really good. Â Best drink I ever had? Â No. Â Best I ever had that I could walk out of the establishment with it in my cup and sit by the River people watching? Â Absolutely!
Review Source:For an adult slurpie by the waterfront, this is the lace to stop in. Quality liquor? You better look the other way. The stronger the uglier the hangover. This is quick fix, icy cool drink to sip and stroll. Probably best to have after you enjoyed a few quality drinks and care a little less about the taste. I mean, afterall, with names like "call a cab" don't get your hopes up too high.
Review Source:My reaction to this place was something akin to pouring salt on a slug.
The drinks were strong and not bad, but if it wasn't for the open container policy in Savannah, I wouldn't have stuck around to order.
Maybe it's just me, but I felt like I was in chuck-e-cheese full of college kids gone AWOL from their family vacations - and worse, creepers on the prowl for them. Â
I'll give the product a 3.5, but not being a masochist, I left behing that sickening Axe cloud of chest flexing and sorority girl shrieking ASAP
Not a place I would want to hang out and enjoy my adult slurpee, but luckily you can get it to go while you wonder the historic district. The infamous Call A Cab tasted like cough syrup so we went with the Shock Treatment. You can certainly tell it is made with grain alcohol, but it was still tasty. $8 gets you a large in a souvenir cup and luckily we decided to split one which was plenty of the sweet concoction.
Review Source:I've been to the Wet Willie's in Atlanta before but I really enjoyed how you can take the slushie drinks outside in Savannah. It is really fun walking along the river with your alcoholic slushie in Savannah! The service was fast and the cups that you get to keep are cute. I would come back!
Review Source:Many of my memorable Friday and Saturday evenings in Savannah started with a visit to Wet Willie's. Their alcoholic daiquiris are delicious and can get you buzzed in a real hurry. The secret is the pure grain alcohol which comes in 150 and 190 proof and is virtually tasteless. Although the drinks range from $8 - 10 (I think for 8 and 12 ounces, respectively), I think it's still a good value. The service is really good and bartenders are nice. The location is great on River Street. In the daytime, it's nice to grab a quick drink and take it with you because the Savannah historic district has an open container policy. The place can get packed on New Years and St. Patrick's Day. They setup lines going out of the doors!
Review Source:I went here a few nights ago and was greatly impressed with the gumbo. This is some of the best gumbo in town. It had the right amount of spice and I would definitely get back here for some of this awesome gumbo. I don't know what the others ate that didn't care for the food. Maybe they should get some gumbo on their next trip.
Review Source:This place is probably not a great place to eat a meal. Â We had nachos and they were substandard...even for a bar. Â
But that's not why you go here. Â You go here for the insane assortment of frozen drinks.
When I walked in from River Street and saw that wall of slurpee machines filled with multi-colored daquiris...I thought I heard angels sing. Â The drinks are fruity and POTENT as some of them are made with grain alcohol. Â We were lucky enough to have a room at a hotel right on River Street. Â But it was a fun place, I would gladly go back.
I was in Georgia for a business trip a few months back and this place has stuck out so much in my memory that I'm writing this review.
We were drawn in from the river walk by the sight of slurpee machines that we knew weren't the kind at 7-11. Oh no, these are filled with  liquor and the craziest selection of flavors around. The bartender was awesome and let us try as many samples as we wanted and ultimately I ended up with the Georgia Peach. Vodka and peach...delicious and what better place than Georgia to have it! We got the souvenir cups which were like $8 which is a great deal for the buzz I caught. The food looked great but we didn't eat and we were there pretty early but the dance floor looks like it could get wet n wild. I'll be back in Savannah for St. Pattys and I can't wait to come here and party it up.
Make sure to stop by here and grab a wet willie. You won't regret it.
On our mini-moon trip to Savannah we decided that we had to go to Wet Willie's since I had heard so much about it. We were immediately carded at the door which was expected. Â
We entered and started sampling the various concoctions. I chose the White Russian and my husband got some mixture containing banana and a few other things. Â We both ordered larges which was a terrible idea. I could only drink about half before feeling the effects on my senses and my stomach. Too much sugar or something. Â It was good but just too much. My husband wasn't able to finish his either. On the last day of our trip we stopped back in and tried some more varieties. We ended up getting mango and pina colada mixed together and we shared this time. That was a much better idea. Â Sharing is caring.

Holy mother...someone call me a cab!! Â But be careful..."Call a Cab" is one of their most powerful frozen drinks that you can order! Â
The interior is decorated so cool and just draws you in! Who ever thought so many frozen daiquiri looking drinks be so good?! Â
The bar is lined up with frozen alcohol drinks swooshing around. Â Bahama Mama, Attitude Improvement, Sex on the Beach, White Russian, Pina Colada and Monkey Shine just to name a few! Oh...and Shock Treatment!! Blue cool!
Don't ask me to name what's in all of the drinks, all I know is that you will be walking down River Street feeling good! Â After a couple drinks here, you'll be tripping over the cobble stone road.
But you don't have to stay in the bar! Get it to go on a hot summer afternoon and stay cool while sippin' your drink!
A short menu is offered as well to side your alcohol craving you get. Wings, tenders, fries, mozz sticks, and others. Â A great place to come to when your downtown Savannah.
Nothing special.  This place is in a good location, Right on River street in Savannah.  This is your average  frozen drink bar.  Think Sloppy Joe's and Chillers.
Basically these drinks are alcoholic slushies and I was unimpressed with my sex on the beach "slushy". Â Favor X was delicious.
You can get your drink and take it with you.
Mexico/New Orleans style slushy machines with alcohol in it!! I had the Call a Cab (cherry/strawberry flavor) and I tried the White Russian, which was also excellent. Both had grain alcohol in it and some other flavors contain it too. $6 for a small cup, cant beat that! (All you will need is the small cup... And I have a high tolerance)
Saw that they were opening in NY in two/three weeks! Cant wait for Wet Willies in Coney Island!!
Dear Wet Willie's,
I'm super jealous that you are in Savannah and that there are laws that allow for us simple folk to wander the busy streets with a delicious alcoholic concoction in hand (thank you open container laws)! Going to Wet Willie's on a visit to Savannah was my first experience with drinking in public. Wet Willie's is a quick and easy way to start your night. You walk up to the bar and choose what drink or combination of drinks you want. I opted for Sex on the Beach which was delicious and strong. I also tried the White Russian; definitely recommend that. Just writing about you makes me want to go back again. Too bad you're not in the DC area....
Wet Willie's is a cash bar so make sure you have a few presidents in hand ;)
We were in town for the Savannah Marathon and needed a place to nurse our aches and pains after the 26.2 mile trek through the streets of Savannah.
We stumbled into this place and the daiquiri's were flowing. Â I had the White Russian and the Margarita daiquiri's during my visit. Â Both were very good, and tasted like the tradition drinks. Â This place was crowded but it was a good atmosphere. Â Most of the people were runners and were there to relax and watch the football game that was on TV. Â The DJ played a wide variety of music, some selections were better than others. The music wasn't too loud, so casual conversation could still be had. Â
The Police Officers at the door were super cool. Â They asked if we had run the Marathon and made small talk with us before we headed out the door. Â The people of Savannah were very welcoming and made my trip that much more enjoyable. Â I would recommend this place for a good drink!
Had the Ranch Wrap and it was wonderful, I couldn't finish it though because it was so LARGE... Yuengling Lager was good but I wish they had a dark or at least an amber beer. The beer list is anemic, so don't expect the "world tour" of beers... in fact the list is about 4 beers and that is it.
The place is very noisy, so be warned and advised. When we were here on a Tuesday night, they had a good crowd, but they crank up the PA system for the karoke machine and singers, and everyone in the place has to shout at each other when they are conversing in order to be heard by the person sitting next to them and the place was VERY LOUD!
My wife had the quesadillas and they were fab.
Food was delivered fast and hot.
If you are wearing a hat or cap, they will make you remove it at the door.
Wet Willies -- the perfect place for high octane brain freeze! They've got a HUGE selection of daiquiris and this convenient location is perfect for grabbing some frozen booze and then walking along the river, taking in the sights. (In Savannah you can walk outside with your drink. Atlanta, take note!)
My friends ordered the "Call a Cab" one, which they advertise as the strongest one they serve (basically grain alcohol with frozen cool-aid). I went for a more subtle White Russian flavor. It worked in getting me prepped for a fun NYE.
The selection of boozy smoothies was overwhelming at first, so I just took the bartender's recommendation and got a Monkey Shine. He said if you like bananas, you'll like this drink, and I said yes sir.
The inside of the bar had plenty of seating and blasting music, but everyone was very relaxed and just chilling. We took our drinks to the waterfront park right outside the restaurant. The flavor was good, and they were definitely very alcoholic, but they were so sweet that it was difficult to finish. I manned up though.
I didn't want to hang at the bar, but the drinks were good, and seeing as how you can just stop at a place, get your drink, and keep going, I'd definitely buy-and-go from here again.
The highlight of this place was watching a bride (in full dress) come in, get a drink, and go sit out in the park. The groom was nowhere to be seen. You've just been Willied!
I have a love/hate relationship with Wet Willie's. I love the drinks but then the morning after two large call-a-cabs, man, do I hate Wet Willies.
Usually the crowd is all tourists and middle-age people; I usually go grab a drink there and then get one to-go as I walk back up to Congress St.
You can actually have meal here, there is a waitstaff in the afternoon/evening, but I wouldn't recommend this place for a meal (Sav has so many better restaurants), just a highly alcoholic slurpee stop.
Ok, it's a daquiri bar, so it's automatically my kind of place. Â Absolutely what the doctor ordered for swampy Georgia days and nights. Â Sure, it'd be nice if they took plastic, but at least they have an ATM right there. Â (Which wasn't working that night, but at least they gave directions to the nearest one.)
The menu gives the impression that everything (but the non-alcoholic Weak Willie's) is made with grain alcohol, but many of the drinks are actually made with rum or vodka, which is even better than the hardcore stuff. Â The good times last longer and you don't have to worry about getting too drunk too quickly, or about your gluten challenged brethren.
I've no doubt that this place attracts the underaged like moths to a fire. Â There were two uniformed cops at the door in addition to the bouncer, and a person could only carry out one drink, so fetching a round for your pals eating outside.... doesn't work.
The downside - it's four hours away from Atlanta, and that cab ride home would be kind of expensive!
A frozen Daiquiri Bar on River Street? Â Why didn't I think of that?
It's brilliant! Â It's a hot, sunny day in Savannah, and the only thing that interests you is something that will quench your thirst. Â Sure, you can get the overpriced iced water from a store, but why not something with a little sweetness and flavor, like the drinks from Wet Willie's? Â
I tend to favor my drinks really sweet, so I went for the Strawberry flavor. Â If you like something a little stronger, but fruity, I would recommend the Mango flavor. Â I didn't know how strong Mango was, so my throat felt like it was on fire when I took a large gulp.
Only warning I have is that some of these Daiquiris pack alcohol. Â I mean, lots of alcohol. Â Some of the stronger drinks are like hard-liquors in prettier outfit!
Wet Willie's is a great tourist bar - especially since it is a chain. Â It's a must on River Street - everyone can use an alcoholic slushie. Â In fact everyone needs an alcoholic slushie to be able to stand the cheesy music and cheesier decor - the mirror wall, the checkered floor, the airbrushed mural.
The premise is simple: think of your favorite slushie flavor and add everclear. Â The Call-A-Cab does in fact mean that you should... particularly if you get the large. Â So it's actually a great deal since the drinks are strong and about the same price as any other cocktail in most places. Â Just be careful - the ice makes it go down fast, and you'll be tipsy before you know it.
Also, they don't take too kindly to dancing with the potted plants, as one of our party can attest.
Who would have thought that a slurpee could knock you on your ass in a span of 20 minutes? Â I had heard about this place but I had to check out this urban legend for myself. Â And I couldn't believe my eyes-it's an absolute haven of an entire wall lined with slurpee machines. Â I tried their signature drink "Call a Cab" but I really liked the "Attitude Adjustment." Â And let me tell you, Â I definitely needed something to adjust my sour attitude after dealing with the rude hostess from The Lady and Sons. Â
This was our first stop in touring River Street and it wasn't long before my sister and I were sittng on a bench with drinks in hand, laughing uncontrollably while her boyfriend records our slurring speech. Â Thanks Abel.
