Neat place. Been multiple times when I'm visiting. Like the wines from different countries being in different room; it's fun to explore. Also they have a great deli case to create a meat and cheese tray...man, now I'm craving truffle pâté and chorizo and gruyere and Bordeaux. Hmmm, I am only 6 hours away and I am off for two days...

My only criticism is I would like a little more friendly wine help but I usually know what everything is, although I just like to talk about wine with people who know, it's fun for me. Humor me.

Wines by Jennifer is a wonderful and just amazing place to do a wine tasting or spend some time enjoying a bottle(s) of wine with friends.

We had the pleasure of doing a wine tasting on Wednesday evening. From the moment we entered their location we were just really impressed.  The person who lead our tasting, Christopher, was really nice and extremely knowledgable.  We enjoyed some flatbread and cheese as a snack while we tasted some Northwestern Wines.

Before we left we had one more glass each and toured the space.  There is a great basement that has a lot of great artwork, a patio that has a really amazing view, and a wine garden that I hope to try out during the day the next time we visit.

Overall, Wines by Jennifer was a great experience and we are already starting to plan a day trip back to enjoy that outdoor wine garden.

How have I avoided reviewing WbJ?

It's not because they're not worthy.  They are.  Jennifer and Don run a quality establishment here and they've gone to great lengths to provide unique wines, presented with flair.

    They Respect The Wine.

Come by for a tasting, or better yet, get a glass to sit on the porch and watch the day go by.  Browse through the house where they've arranged each room to represent a wine region.

Do not miss the basement.  There's a lot of good art down there so save it until last...  ...after you've had that glass.

I've been known to sip a bottle, I mean GLASS, of wine or two, tis true. Although far from a wine snob (I am not knowledgeable enough beyond, "is it an Italian red? Fab...is it a Montepulciano or Sangiovese?), I like my grown-up grape juice.

It's truly one of life's little decadent pleasures to share a bottle or two of wine along with a platter of cheese, fruit, nuts and crackers in lieu of a more sensible dinner. My prescription to cure a stressful week.

Kansas City needs more wine bars. There are only two (correct me if I'm wrong: JP Wine Bar and Boozefish) in the Metro area. Time to head up to Parkville! Wine's by Jennifer offers a stellar wine sipping experience, and is as good as it gets as far as environment goes (you can sit in one of several rooms outfitted according to region and there is a lounge downstairs for larger groups). The environment is really quaint (it's in a small cottage on Main Street. Honestly, I was expecting George Baily to be running by at any moment) and the staff is welcoming, friendly and informative. Although I'd consider Wines by Jennifer more than a wine store, it's not quite a wine bar, either, considering how early it closes. This has me wondering how they'd fare if they held later hours and pushed more of a wine bar experience, something like La Buvette in Omaha.

When I return, I'd probably stick to ordering a glass of wine instead of doing the tasting ($12, which is a bit steep, considering that you can find free wine tastings elsewhere...then again that is usually not in environments are lovely as this one). A tasting gives you 3 whites and 3 reds. This is not a flight or even close (the wine bottles have measured pours that equal about one sip), so if that's what you're expecting, you will be dissatisfied (I wasn't expecting this, but I can see how others might).

There's an array of cheeses, meats, fruit, nuts, crackers and sweets that you can order to accompany your wine, too. These items are available wrapped for purchase in one of the front rooms of the house. I can definitely see the allure of having such a place close to home to stop in and stock for holiday gatherings you're hosting or attending.

I'm sure I will be one of her biggest fans!  Great selection of world wines!  I'm overly partial to CA wines, but those I have a source for, so this fills a need really well!

I have been a fan since I walked in the place.  We took my f-i-l as he had recently re-discovered his love of all things vino.  We walked in without calling ahead on a busy weekend and asked if we could have a tasting room.  It was no problem and were seated quickly in the Spanish wine room.  While the rooms are on the small side it comfortably sat four.  We were given a flight of wines poured by a pretty, perky, woman who kept the tasting going with her wit and charm, answering all of our questions without a hint of sales pressure.

The second time was about six months later and the woman who had initially seated us was there again, I came to find out, Jennifer, herself.  I mentioned what we had bought and she immediately said, oh, you came here with your father in law.  Amazed, I asked if I could tour the place for a bit.  She showed me around including to the basement which houses an art gallery.  It was really cozy and every room has it's own personality including a personality with four legs who greeted me then hid.  Once again she suggested something great (Zaca Mesa Z Cuvee')

A year later my husband and I dropped by on a whim and joined a wine tasting in the big room with three other couples.  Once again, Jennifer remembered us.  It was a lot of fun to make conversation with a few strangers who may or may not be who they say.

Jennifer provides a charming atmosphere with fancy food and drinks for adults.  It's a really relaxing place that's a little out of the ordinary.
