Maybe I am just getting too old for bars or maybe this place does suck. Â I just want to sit down and enjoy a nice meal and a craft beer or two. Â Is that too much to ask for? Â
This place attracts the young & dumb who just want to get smashed and start a fight. Â If you have read the news recently then you already know about the dude who got convicted of punching a guy so hard it put him in a coma.
A friend and I went here to see his friend perform with her band. Â Even though we got there at 8:00 (2 hours before showtime), we still had to shell out a $7 cover. Â (Yes, I know a cut of the cover goes to the performer...) Â
The bartenders were relatively friendly, though we couldn't help but be distracted by bartender whose, ehm, goodies were all up in our faces. I'm sure she made the most tips. :) Â Beer was typically priced. Â
The bathrooms were clean, though only ONE blowdryer in the women's bathroom was worth using (vortex-style; the rest are old and take fo'eva'). Â
The stage is small (I've seen smaller I suppose) and the acoustics were alright.
The place got packed around 10, and there really was no good room to stand in view of the stage without being in foot traffic. Â I was bumped several times by staff - some with apologies but many without. Â Since I'm honestly not a country fan, people-watching became the primary activity. Â There were many-a plaid shirts, a few Ed Hardies, and (sadly) only one guy donning a hat and boots. Â
If YOU end up being dragged here by a friend, at least there will be mildly amusing (or, depending on your POV, arousing) eye candy.
