The food is excellent but be patient as it's a one waiter/chef operation at lunch, and they ran out of BREAD at 1 o'clock????    French staples, i.e. french onion soup & salad, escargot, croque monsieur and quiche are delicious; however, I thought our wine glasses got a short pour compared with other tables.    It's a long wait for the first course and for other courses in between.

The waiter wasn't French, there was quite a ruckus in the kitchen which was audible from the dining area, and spoiled things a bit.   Not sure what all those people were doing back there since it took so long for the food!

I might try it for dinner, but I heard Rendez-vous on the other side of town is a better choice.

We tried it for dinner last night and enjoyed it.  My partner had the duck which he said was delicious and I had the quiche Lorraine also good.  The quiche came with a side salad.  I would have preferred one with mixed greens with a lighter dressing, but it was okay.  Forget about ordering the house wine (both white and red).  Neither one was very good.  Our waiter was very nice but it did seem that as the place got busier, the staff seemed a bit frazzled.

Crap, don't go. Service LOUSY. I inquired how they prepared certain dishes and they were completely off mark. It's obvious they don't know how to properly prepare true French cuisine. We walked out. No one even came to the table to give us water or ask for a drink order for a good 10 minutes. The couple near us had been waiting for their check for 20 minutes. The manager was having a complete meltdown when we walked in and they weren't even busy! Too bad because I really had a long day cooking and was looking forward to someone cooking for ME! Ended up going home and making a wonderful Veal Marsala in about 10 minutes.

Went there to introduce my child to escargot.

The wait staff was very friendly, though I had to ask them for water refills on two occasions.

I had the Pumpkin Soup, she had the escargot, the soup was good, a bit light on seasoning, but tasty.

She liked the escargot, and we were on to the main course.

She had Chicken Francoise and I had Grilled Mahi Mahi with Rice and Ratatouille.

Her chicken was tender and tasty, while my fish was VERY dry and the ratatouille was more like something from a chef boyardee can, I didn't enjoy at all.

Dessert was profiteroles with ice-cream and for her, and banana split.

I don't think they allowed the profiteroles to dry out in the middle, because they were very doughy in the center.

Definitely a first and last visit.

"Besame Mucho" playing in the background, an Italian waiter and coffee 'is only $1.75' is what's good about 33rd & Dine, a French Cafe, and what stops it from being 5 stars. Oh yes and the food.
First off Angelo, the Italian waiter, gave us excellent service, and the owner was a class helper. They worked together as a team. We came in around 2 PM and there were 2 parties sitting outside and 2 inside. Within a few minutes, including us, there were 8 parties and all had excellent service.
It's funny to be surprised and laugh at that 'only $1.75 for coffee and diet soda each" but compared to other restaurants that is almost half the price charged and certainly more reasonable.
As soon as we sat down the owner brought us some good sliced bread with packages of butter on the side. I had to wait for my coffee because they were making a fresh pot, which was okay with me.
Allen had the scallop crepe ($16.95) which he said was very good. I had the sausage and Swiss cheese crepe ($13.95) which was on the dry side and could have used a monkey dish of ratatouille  sauce.
With tip the lunch check came to $44.09 and minus the Groupon we had altogether it cost us $22 which made lunch a little more reasonable.
I was impressed actually seeing a working boss and it certainly helps the server and customer.
Just a suggestion--do the server a favor by leaving the tip in cash--if you need to know the reason you have never been a server and just e-mail me and I'll tell you why!

We skipped the French pastries and went to the Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream.

After reading the reviews, I thought the place was going to be great. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The decor was tacky and the ambiance left much to be desired. Wait staff was capable but our food was not good. Both my husband and I ordered crepes. Both were greasy, mine quite flavorless. Based on our experience alone, I wouldn't go back.

I bought a Groupon here a while ago and forgot to use it before it expired, and was worried that they wouldn't accept the purchase price value when I stopped in recently.  Alas, my fears were unfounded, and I received excellent and quick service.  I came on a Thursday around 7pm, and there was only one other couple in the restaurant.  Another diner and a family came in while I was eating, and it seemed like they might be regulars.  It's a relatively small restaurant, with only about 15-20 tables or so.

I've never tried escargot, but figured this would be the place to do it.  After having a Kronenbourg to calm my nerves, I was ready... and not disappointed!  I would definitely like to come back and try some of the other interesting entrees I found on the menu.

The food is excellent ! The service is a bit slow coming from the kitchen. Read the yelp reviews say it all.

Very pleasant lunch. Loved the escargot. Tasty salad dressing. French music in the background.  Service very nice. Storefront  on a treelined street with parking meters just west of the beachfront.

Reasonably priced menu and decent food but atrocious customer service by the waitstaff. We arrived at an empty restaurant around 8:30 pm on a Saturday night, sat down, perused the menu and ordered. The inattentive waitstaff kept yelling at one another in Spanish, and we had to repeatedly ask for ice water, pepper etc. We paid the bill in cash and a few minutes later, our waiter ran out and accused us of not paying the full amount of the bill. I willingly walked back to restaurant and just before entering the restaurant, one of the other waitstaff confirmed that they found the rest of our money. There was a quick apology but no offer for a free dessert, wine or any incentive to return. I would suggest the restaurant manager better train his waitstaff.

We decided to try this place as it looked cute.  I was so in the mood for Duck a la orange'.   What a disappointment.  The Duck was ok, and we got a house salad, also average, and a vegetable crepe.  All of which was just OK.  The only thing that was delicious was the French Onion Soup.  If I ever go back there it will be for the soup alone.  The service was average as well.  I was sad as I so was in the mood for some delicious French food.   I hope for this was just an off night, but, since I was not wowed by much, I don't know that we will be going back.

A hidden gem in a very small shopping plaza on the east side of the bridge, this small French restaurant can cook! With five people at our table, I heard fab comments about the duck, the salad, and the lamb chops.

In a French restaurant, I started with the French Onion soup. Deep and rich broth, it was very tasty and the small bits of onion were super soft and practically melty. For my main, I chose the seafood crepe. Excellent big pieces of scallops and large sized shrimp in a creamy fishy garlicy sauce. Sadly, the crepe did not last forever.

For dessert, I have Scott M. to thank for the "Tour Eiffel". I literally showed the picture from Yelp to the waiter and said "I want that, please." After a large dinner, there was enough for all five of us to get a bit of crepe and ice cream and peach. Heavenly.

On a cool night, try sitting outside!

Finally I've found it! A restaurant in Lauderdale that serves a really great tasting, flavorful crepe.

Since the sudden demise of one of my favorite French restaurants, Grandma's, I've been scouring the area in search of another restaurant serving a decent seafood or escargot crepe with little success until now. Though, I've dined here before in years past and have generally been pleased with this small, shady street side French café it isn't until now that I've tried any of their crepes, something I regret. Though they don't offer an escargot crepe on their menu, they do offer 15 other French Crepe Specialties including a Saint-Tropes with mixed seafood and mushrooms sautéed in garlic with a white wine crème sauce both for lunch at $15.00 and as a dinner special for only several dollars extra, which I found to be really terrific.

I also recall past experiences of their "Canard a l'Orange" and Filet Mignon with a peppercorn, both of which impressed me a being very good.

33rd & Dine is a located on a nice shady, rather quiet street area out of what is little more than one would deem a "hole in the wall" type of structure but almost reminding one of being somewhere in Europe.

So why haven't I rated it five stars? I can't quite go there yet because of one rather obvious drawback I've experienced. It's a nice enough place but a one chef one waiter operation. That would basically be ok but if dinning inside it can become annoyingly loud with the chef and the waiter talking back and forth in full volume, both doing phone calls or maybe just because I hit it at a wrong time with some rather noisy, distracting workmen patrons carrying two way walkie talkie radios plus a few, apparently hard of hearing women, who seemed to have an awful lot to say.

This is a small restaurant in the Galt Ocean Mile area of Fort Lauderdale on a side street with metered parking and a few outside small tables on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.  We first looked at the restaurant's web site to get an idea of prices and what was offered.  When we got to the restaurant all the prices were higher than on their web site - such a disappointment that they do not maintain correctness in their web site.  Although the food quality was good, the quantity was small for the prices charged.  I had a look at the kitchen after our meal and it looked dirty, so I think I will pass on returning to this restaurant.

Came to this place on a whim for brunch while on vacay in S. FL. Cute ambience; we sat outside which was the French thing to do & of course the weather in Florida in December really made that a pleasant experience.

We were the only customers there around 11:30am and man they were as slow as molasses in serving us (maybe that's a French thing too, I dunno). We waited over 40 minutes between our appetizer and entree.

I also had an issue with them not checking in to refill our drinks or even to see if we needed anything while we waited. The one girl just came and dumped the food in front of us without a word. Also, they served us TAP water which in Florida should be a crime because the water here is so downright nasty to drink. They don't even serve tap water in fast food places...this was really a let down for a place that's supposed to be a little more upscale. Come on, guys...

We ordered the pâté, Brie, and fruit platter as an appetizer, which was extremely overpriced ($12+) for the two slivers of pâté, two small pieces of toast with Brie on top, a couple of slices of apple & cantaloupe, and a bunch of salad greens. I've had better pâté. This tasted like the cheapest canned variety and it was really disappointing. The Brie was good, but damn, be a little more generous for $12!

I ordered the crêpe Brettone and it did not disappoint. The portion size was generous considering how rich of a dish it was. It was a perfect melange of smoked salmon, spinach, & garlic cream sauce. It was a tad on the salty side, but I can handle a bit more salt. Aside from that it was absolutely scrumptious. My husband had the crêpe Francilienne which I think had chicken, mushrooms, and onions in it. He really enjoyed it, but had to doggy bag half of it because it was so rich and filling. Those three items cost us about $48 with tip.

Overall, it was an ok dining experience. I'd come back solely for the crêpes.

Fantastic affordable traditional French cuisine.  I had the escargot, which came in a really good garlic oil sauce.  The soup of the day (Squash bisque) was phenomenal. The Sole meuniere was really really good.  Great friendly service.  I highly recommend.  Oh, the house wine (Cab) was a great value.
Also, we had the crepe Suzette for dessert.  The crepe wasn't freshly made, but the sauce was great.

This place has it all, ambiance, charm, good service and amazing food. Every entree comes with a small salad right on your plate making the rich food next to it feel balanced. The dressing is light and creamy but i have yet to be able to know exactly what to name it. My advice is to go for it and try their savory crepes. For the cautious who aren't sure about a crepe as a meal, I suggest the Franciline. Stripes of chicken, onion, mushrooms in a cream sauce; if you like cheese, Auvergnate is similar but without onions and with blue cheese. My favorite starter is the Escargot Maitre D'Hotel, although it's not for everyone, if you ever consider having it, this is the place to have it in. Buttery garlic covers them in parsley, so simple yet so divine. For someone who wants a little authentic taste of true French cuisine, but wants to stay "safe" consider the St. Tropez or Toulouse crepes. Their ratatouille is one of a kind and the mixed seafood is fresh and tender. For the person who wants to true adventure, try the Bourguionne with escargot or the Savoyarde with sausage, consider asking for a bit of Dijon sauce on the side, it goes great with it. As you can see there are a lot of option, and that's just the crepes!
The shallot sauce in their beefsteak tastes a bit like homemade BBQ but don't fret, it's still very good. My dilemma is almost always between the Veal Cutlet and the scallops Provencale. Both cream sauces but very different, the sauce in the veal has a lot more flavor, mushrooms and stands up to the tender beef. The cream with the scallops has garlic but stays delicate so as to not over power the seared scallops. Both are incredible so you can't go wrong. They give you a choice of roasted potatoes, mashed, ratatouille and rice among other things but they also add a baked tomato, yes with a "T", covered in a mixture of cheese, herbs and goodness. If you plan on dessert, plan on taking half your meal home since the portions are generous and the desserts are mean to be shared. You can't go wrong with a Creme Brulee or a Crepe Suzette which they serve with Grand Marnier and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For a lighter dessert option the Profiteroles of the house won't bust your belt. As if that wasn't enough, the prices are reasonable, the servers are friendly and it has a nice casual setting. This is my favorite restaurant.

The atmosphere was great sitting outdoors reminded me of France.  The food was fresh and obviously made with care.  I met the owner who was passionate about cuisine.

The best value for French food in Fort Lauderdale.
Great French onion soup, escargots, quiche, crepes, steak frites, etc.
    We love the outside atmosphere.

I went for a quick bite so my rating is solely on the French Onion Soup & the pate & brie platter.  The French onion soup lacked flavor, the bread was extremely soft and soggy, I don't think they toasted it before they put it in, overall I felt the soup was very bland.  The pate did not taste homemade or fresh, it had a prepackaged texture, brie & fruit was good.  Service was very slow.

The crepes did look amazing, I will definitely come back and try the crepes.

    Best non-dessert crepes ever!!

I have been here a couple of times & the crepes are so so so good! Which is far different from the service...it is just really really really slow. But take into account that the place is the size of a small living room & there is 1 person cooking your fresh crepe & 1 person taking orders & doing everything else besides cooking. The decor is blah but who cares when the crepes are wonderful. I have tried the chicken/mushroom & a shrimp one...they were ohh soo fresh & just superb! I know I have tried the dessert crepes which were good but the lunch crepes outshine the sweet ones!

Such a random place w/a random name in a random shopping center.

I'm in Ft Lauderdale on business and have been for weeks.  Tonight I was dining alone and sauntered out to see what was near my hotel.  I was willing to settle for pub grub but what I found was so much more.  I'm a fracophile but I don't care much for French cooking.  I prefer the more intense flavors of various Asian styles.  Nonetheless, 33rd & Dine (what a name) caught my eye as an unexpected bistro overlooking the parking lot of a strip mall.  Out of curiosity I looked over the menu and knew immediately I had to try this place.  It was one of those menus where everything looks good.

It has been my rule for years that to prevent myself from second-guessing I will order the first thing that catches my eye on a menu.  The salmon quiche is actually what drew me into the restaurant...well, outside of the restaurant since although the dining room looked cozy and comfortable I preferred to dine out in the sultry south Florida evening.  On second thought, though, I wanted to avoid so much in a quiche and looked elsewhere on the menu.

So many choices!  And they all sounded delicious.  I finally decided to ignore my dining rule and ordered a crepe brettone, consisting of a light garlic sauce, salmon and spinach.   Sounds healthy, doesn't it?  Gentle reader, have you had one of those dining experiences that was so exquisite that it renewed your faith in mankind and in dining out and made you feel as contented and pleased with yourself as is possible without being an obnoxious boor?  Tonight I had one such experience.  I only wish, dear diner, that you could have joined me so that we could have traded pleasant bon mots and bites of each other's plates.  Everything about this crepe was perfect and each bite took me to a blissful culinary nirvana.

I can't comment on the rest of the menu but I was so impressed with the crepe bretonne that I will return to sample the other dining offerings.  C'est magnifique!

Great little out of the way French restaurant. Inside and outside seating...free parking after 6
    Wonderful crepes, steaks and fish.
Priced reasonably, friendly owner and chef...good wait staff
(just north of Oakland park Blvd, on the "other side" of the intracoastal)
