Love the patio atmosphere here- wine was very good, food was delicious! We ordered two appetizers (margherita flatbread and the crab artichoke dip). Both were fantastic! The only bad thing about our entire evening was the chain smoker seated next to us on the patio- I recognized that this city is the hub of the American tobacco industry but it was disheartening to have their smoke intermingling with our food and drinks.

One of my favorite patios in Winston.

The food is good and great specials for drinks. The atmosphere can range from lively with music inside in the evening to a laid back night with friends out on the patio.

Overall, a great place to grab a bite to eat and a drink.

Continuing my nostalgia tour of Winston-Salem, my mind wanders back to 6th & Vine, a dreamer of a restaurant that when grounded in their less adventurous items, is a sure-fire way to spend a fun evening with friends. The drink selection, both beer and wine, is impressive in the context of the so-called "Dash."

To be fair, not everything on the menu at 6th & Vine is a home run. Their chef's' creativity can get the better of them, but when it comes to some of their staples - their baked brie and their salads, for example - it's a consistently satisfying meal. There's also their selection of sandwiches and soups, which for the most part, are excellent.

6th & Vine is a very solid 4-star restaurant. Well-above mediocrity but below 5-star wonderment, I see 6th & Vine being a long-term heavy-hitter in downtown Winston-Salem. Grab a bottle of red wine and the baked brie as you scan over the panini and salad selection, eyes wide, stomach grumbling.

    Baked Brie: A Poem

You could go to 6th and Vine for a bottle of wine,
You could go this weekend if you don't mind a line,
But the best thing to do, between you and me,
Is to order up a plate of their famous Baked Brie.

The rest of the food is tasty, too:
A salad, some salmon, a cup of soup,
But you'll find nothing else, I guarantee,
That's as satisfying as their delicious Baked Brie.

Jamaican Jerk Chicken for an appetizer
Is tasty but tough on the ol' incisors.
Give your teeth a break and your tummy a treat
By starting off your meal with some creamy Baked Brie.

    In summary, I highly recommend this spot;
Its patio is great when the weather gets hot.
The staff is gracious, the wine savory,
Just save enough room for - you guessed it - Baked Brie.

Ever wonder about that hideaway restaurant known by only locals, that's so good you want to keep it to yourself so you won't have to wait for a table? Yeah, that's this place. I always imagined heaven to be a library with a bar, but after going to 6th & Vine, I now imagine it to include little cozy brick multi-level outdoor patios warmly lit by strings of clear bulbs on a cool spring evening.

Seriously. I love this place. It's everything I want in a restaurant. Tucked away in the WS downtown arts district, it has an amazing atmosphere (both indoor and outdoor seating), good WINE selection, fresh crusty bread, CHEESES on the menu, WINE, awesome salad selection (so good I had a hard time choosing!), and did I mention wine?

Sitting on the back patio reminds me of a few bistros I used to frequent when living in San Francisco, or a little gem you'd stumble upon while travelling through a quaint neighborhood in Paris. My husband said it reminded him of some of his favorite dining spots in Costa Rica. Wherever nostalgia it may conjure, I could spend all day here. It's one of those places I can't wait to bring friends from out-of-town, but I also can't wait to go back for a solo trip and spend a few hours sipping wine on the back patio, nibbling on a salad and some fresh bread and cheese, jotting down poetry and people watching, drinking more wine. Ahhhhh....

I also have to give props to the wait staff. Our server was very accommodating, knew what was up with the menu and gave great recommendations. He was busy, but made sure we were happy. The only unfortunate thing is that this place seems to have caught on in the downtown WS foodie scene (server said it's been here for 7+ years, which is a lifetime in the restaurant biz!) We went on a Wednesday evening, around 8pm, and it was pretty much packed (although fortunately we didn't have to wait).

Now that I think about it, I'm rethinking my 5 star review (I want it all to myself!!!!!)

Forget everything you just read. ;)

I really enjoyed this place! I love anything with aioli mayo involved. The food was great and it was a chill place to come after walking around. The service was great :) Good place to grab a quick lunch that is really good.

Overall this place is OK. Food Menu isnt bad, however if there is something at lunch you just love and you come at dinner... you wont be getting it at dinner! The Wine list is a little lacking for a Wine Bar. Quality of Quantity... They have quite a few wines by the glass... but nothing that I would say is fantastic. Staff is always very friendly

ALERT:  I wrote separate reviews for the food and the drinks.  Read on!

The decor to this place is pretty nice; lots of wood and brick.  Good atmosphere to bring a date or small group gathering.

We arrived at 6th and Vine without reservations on a Saturday night at around 8pm, and we were able to be seated immediately.  The restaurant had plenty of patrons, but it wasn't packed.  Most of the waitstaff were tattooed hipsters (something I'm used to ever since living in Philly), which I find interesting since the restaurant is really a wine place catering to an upscale crowd.

    The food:

We weren't that hungry and we only decided to get appetizers.  I got the soup of the day while the Honey Bunny got the chorizo nachos.  The soup was decent.  The nachos came out looking great, BUT, tasted like something a 6 year old would make.  The cheese tasted like it was out of a jar, the meat was like fake meat from Taco Bell, and the chips tasted like they were out of a private label bag of tortilla chips.

1 out of 5 stars.  I definitely would not come here for food.  I understand that I didn't get the full range of the menu, but really, paying patrons shouldn't be subject to duds like the plates we experienced.

    The drinks:

I perused the menu and settled on a beer.  Most imports and domestic beers (drafts and bottles) were 3.75.  Specialty beers such as Lambic were priced a bit more.  Obviously my beer was great since it was poured out of a bottle and it's tough to mess that up.  The mixed drinks were around 7 each, although I didn't have one.  Although the drinks were cheap, most of downtown WS has cheap drinks anyways so it's still average in my book.

    3 out of 5 stars.

Would I come back for booze and the atmosphere?  Yes.  Would I come back for the food?   Heck no.

After reading the reviews I decided to check it out. The interior was really cool, love the paintings around the restaurant, the interior decorating itself was really cool. The menu choices sounded good, so much didn't know what I wanted.
Waiter was ok, not to attentive, very nice though. I ordered the portabella mushroom entree and a Cesar salad. My sister ordered Bibb salad w salmon, pecans.
The salad arrived looked good, but by no means did even Taste like a Caesar salad :(
Entree came and looked really good, and it was tasty, came with mashed potatoes they were good.
My sister salad was good. Salmon was extra for a few bucks and she got a few bucks worth of Salmon.
I will say the prices were a little high for what you received.

I haven't gone through all fifty-something reviews of 6th & Vine to know if she has provided commentary on this, but I know fellow Yelper Karen S. and I share a great love of the outdoor patio in the bars and restaurants we frequent. Well, 6th and Vine does NOT disappoint in this department. Their patio, which is set up in the alley (I guess you could call it) between several downtown buildings, was a hit with me. The one fault in their patio is that it is so far removed from the actual restaurant, it obviously hinders the wait staff from properly attending to patrons. Not that they didn't show great effort, but I feel it could've been better had the proximity of the table been a bit closer to the bar and kitchen. That being said, 6th & Vine does have a terrific patio for the Friday happy hour or Saturday early dinner.

I will say that the food is of excellent quality. On one occasion, four of us split their small plates on a Friday afternoon. This was definitely the way to go, here. On other occasions, I've had entrees, and while good, I left feeling as though it wasn't really worth the price. I'd highly recommend the small plates and drinks. The drinks were all right. You were obviously paying for the fact that they thought they were upscale. Obviously a restaurant in this area will charge more based solely on location. One big thing in their favor was having Shiner Bock on draught. (Not so common outside of Texas and their surrounding states, but much appreciated!) This would definitely be a good spot for you winos. I was impressed with their selection, even if I was not interested in partaking.

I would've gone with five stars had the service been perfect, but it wasn't (whether that was any fault of the server, I'm not sure). I would've gone with four stars had the food justified the price. While it was good, this was not the restaurant I'd go to to spend this kind of money.

I have been to 6th and Vine twice, once for bunch and once for dinner.Their poached pear salad and stuffed portobella mushrooms are both exquisite! Their red sangria is perfect.

The restaurant has three separate dining areas. There is a front room that also houses the bar, a back room and an outside patio area that is located in an alleyway. I have only sat in the front room and had both good and bad experiences. I met a friend for dinner one evening around 6 and the place was quickly filling up. We were seated at a small table that was placed by itself in the middle of the room. We felt odd and out of place eating dinner in the middle of the standing bar crowd. The waiter seemed preoccupied and was difficult to reach at times.

However, my Sunday brunch experience was delightful! We were seated towards the front of the restaurant amidst a couple of tables and our waitress was extremely attentive. Time of day seems to be a key issue here.

The bar crowd consisted of a bunch of attractive 20 and 30 somethings. Great place to meet someone!

Overall, a nice spot to unwind and indulge in downtown Winston Salem.

Beware: This restaurant does not take reservations. Prime times during the weekend may have an hour long wait.

Had dinner there a couple of weeks ago with a friend, we had an assortment of appetizers. It was wonderful and enough for me to take home and enjoy the next night. Wonderful food and atmosphere, especially when the weather is cooler for their outside seating.

I dined here last night with two lovely ladies. We had to wait for our table for maybe 20 minutes or so, which was not a problem as we seated ourselves at the bar and proceeded to enjoy some wine. The bartender was mostly patient, but he enjoyed teasing us about wanting to try different wines before committing to one. However, I did find his recommendations to be spot on.

We were seated outside in the back, so it was a good thing the temperature dropped. Our server answered all of our questions, and I opted for one of the specials, swordfish with sun dried tomatoes and capers. It was one of the best cooked pieces of fish I have ever eaten! Which it should have been, as it cost me a pretty penny. I did feel a little awkward having to ask my server the price of the dish before ordering, but going from the other prices of dishes on the menu, I did not want to be surprised with a $25 entree.

After dinner, we went back inside where a woman was performing. She was a talented singer, and we enjoyed another glass of wine for dessert. It was around 10:30 PM at this point, and it became incredibly loud, not because of the artist but because the bar scene was really heating up. We left when we finished our drinks. This was my first dinner out in Winston-Salem, and while it was maybe a tad overpriced, it was delicious!

Stopped in looking for dinner as I was finishing up a road trip in early March.  The place was busy and a bit crowded, but I was quickly ushered to a indoor bar seat and given a menu.  The menu seemed to be pretty gourmet, "pretentious," as another reviewer put it and as such a tad on the expensive side.  One of the cheaper options which I finally settled on was a kind of gourmet personal pizza which I found to be quite delicious and well worth the money.  The bar selection was also very good and the waitresses were very nice.  Overall, it left me a good impression of Winston-Salem after a week of driving and dealing with bad traffic and fast food and diners.  I would definitely stop in again if given the chance.

First, I am amused by the rater, below, who gave the place five stars just because of the "atmosphere" -- and admitted he knew nothing about this restaurant's food!  Wow!

What we found last weekend:  The atmosphere is fine.  The food was good and fairly creative.  The service was good, but not excellent. The employees seem to pride themselves on their tattoos.  A lot of body disfigurement going on there -- perhaps they are involved in an intra-restaurant contest to see who can be ugliest?   (There were many competitors here, and they seemed to remain within our view.)

We did the "three taste" wing "thing" which worked out well, although some of their vino is over-priced.  The stuffed portobello and ginger mango thing were quite oily.

All-in-all?  W-S is a highly competitive bar/restaurant market.  We see no need to return here.

Went to 6th & Vine for dinner during the week while on a business trip.  The place was artsy with what I assume were art students paintings on the walls for sell which I thought was nice so that you could walk around and look at the artwork while you waited for your meal.

The place is bordering on pretentious which usually isn't my style, but I was very pleased with my whole experience.  Classy place, quality ingredients and dishes presented well.

I ordered the stuffed portabella mushroom which was stuffed with roma tomatoes and brie with a roasted red bell pepper puree, sounds pretentious right? Tasted AMAZING. I chose cucumber salad and asparagus as my sides.  The cucumber salad was the only down point of the meal.  A little too much sugar, not like my momma makes.   I chose a random blended red wine that went well with the dish, I'm no wine wine aficionado. But to top off the dinner I ordered the passion fruit creme brûlée, which was the dessert special for the evening, and holy hell it was FANTASTIC!  I have dreams about this dessert.
    So 4 stars, I'm a fan!

Visited 6th & Vine today for lunch, something that I normally don't even think of.  We parked on the street and walked up to the restaurant.  Typically when i come here I have several drinks and its at night and I usually don't eat.

We sat outside on the patio under an umbrella and enjoyed the nice weather until t started to rain.  It wasn't bad and the umbrella kept us dry so i didn't mind.  After about 10 minutes of it raining (Small drops) with the sun out; the host asked us to move inside.  I said, I'm sorry....??  She said, I am going to have to ask you to move inside.  I said, "Why?"  She said we don't ask servers to go out in the rain....  I'm thinking to myself, if a server came out, he/she might get 4-5 rain drops on their head....  But whatever.  I politely told her that I was midway through my lunch and I was not moving.

My server NEVER came back to the table to refill my water or check on the food or anything.  I would think that it would be the servers prerogative to come out and wait on their customers if they want to....Really never heard of anything like that before.  I could understand if it were a rain storm and windy with thunder and lightning but it wasn't.

I had the Philly Steak Sandwich which was just okay.  I wouldn't order it again.  Service totally sucked.  I think I will stick to coming here for drinks.

Nice little alternative in downtown Winston. Only had an appetizer with their Sunday special (1/2 price bottle of wine!), and had to sit at the bar, but the menu looked interesting, and the service was only a little too slow (in fairness, it was crowded).  I would definitely come back and eat dinner. As a couple of other reviewers suggested, wine descriptions would be a good enhancement.  (And Owen Wilson was in town and was reportedly there right after us that day.)

This little gem may be my favorite Triad restaurant. Simple upon sight but deep on taste. The atmosphere is very laid back with eclectic decor. The have a unique building that is not very wide but deep and has a side area outside, almost like an alley with plenty of room for tables (and a back deck). I've had nearly every option here---brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as a seafood crawl last summer. All were incredibly good. Staff has been very friendly and attentive. I'll continue to go and only wish I lived closer. Or maybe they'll come to Greensboro!!

I have to say, I've found my go-to menu item.  I like the Poached Pear and Bibb lettuce salad with Grilled Tofu.  My husband reliably gets a veggie wrap.  I wish they always had a veggie soup on the menu, cause when they do it is ALWAYS outstanding!

We went here after a tennis match so it was in-between peak hours, but lunch goes until 5 so we were able to order from the lunch menu.

The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic...couches and art you can buy hanging on the walls. No need to dress up, a comfortable place.

My husband, our friend and I got the crab and artichoke dip for a starter, It arrived piping hot. I was a bit leery of the not quite melted Parm on the top...but ignore it. The dip was real crabby and creamy and served with grilled pita wedges. We had to ask for extra pita since the ratio of dip to pita was off...but still, very nice.

My entree was the full sized Bibb lettuce and poached pears. I comes with curry spiced walnuts, and blue cheese. (I subbed the blue cheese for a $2.99 fried goat cheese.) The salad was nicely composed. Mild Bibb leaves, crunchy nuts and soft n' sweet poached pears and pear vinaigrette. HOWEVAAAA...

There were about 5 slimy, silty leaves hidden in the bottom of the plate. The leaves were also un-cut so they were a bit big and awkward to eat without cutting.

My husband got the curried chicken pita sandwich, which he said was muddled and not so fresh. Our friend got what looked like a chicken Caesar salad wrap, which was a bit over dressed and sloppy.

Our drinks were constantly refilled, which was nice on a hot day...but the dip plate, along with our dirty plates stayed on our table during the entire meal.

Overall...not bad...but if we find ourselves in WS again, we'll prob try Mozelle's, which we heard great things about.

The star of this place is their outdoor area in the back. Lots of different seating options in a funky outdoor space. We have sat in the gazebo with some friends having drinks and it was lovely.

As far as the food goes, we've only have their small plates, but have sampled quite a few of them. We've found them to be very hit or miss. The pepperoni flatbread pizza was extremely greasy - so much so that the flatbread was almost instantly soggy. The tamale was also quite greasy and not very good. Spring rolls were disappointing and really flavorless. The mussels and the jerk chicken skewers were tasty, though.

Never tried the dinners as they're quite expensive ($20-$30) and the quality of their small plates doesn't make me think it would be worth the money.

I wish the wine list was a little more descriptive, especially since the waitstaff that I've had has been unable to really recommend any wines to me (odd for something calling itself a wine bar!). Wines by the glass also seem priced pretty high.

Service tends to be quite slow. When they get busy the waitstaff seem overloaded and disappear for quite a long time - we've had to flag people down to get more drinks/our check.

Worth it for drinks in the great courtyard and maybe a snack or two to share, but I don't think we'll eat here again for a meal.

I was simply amazed at how skillfull the bartender Tom was (youthful looking fellow with a beard and piercing blue eyes)

The cocktail he made for my girlfriend made her toes curl and his description of the wines was so enticing that it melted my face off. He's a true professional.

Great atmosphere too. We plan on becoming two more of Tom's many regulars!! Highly recommend this place!!

I have been to this place twice.  Once for lunch and once for after dinner drinks.

Starting with the most recent first.  This placed was packed for dinner so we came back here for drinks after 11:00PM. This is definitely not the hipster, barely young enough to drink and going to dance kind of bar.  I'm way older than that bar but at this bar everyone was older than me by like 10 years AT LEAST!  They were still partying like college kids though, so it was fun.  It was a happy drunk kind of place but most definitely an older crowd.  The drinks were actually not too expensive $4.50 or something for a beer and $5.00 for a shot of Belvedere.  Their wine list was impressively long and they did have some special deals on full bottles of wine.  The service was a little slow but given that he was really the only one walking around...it was forgivable, but 15-20 minutes for a drink is still a long time.  He was still very polite for being so stressed.

Less recently but still within the last 12 months, I came here for lunch with a group of ladies.  The service wasn't good but adequate and the food was decent but not mind blowing.  (The server still did not get my order right, but it happens in large groups.) The portions are a little small for a salad to be as expensive as it is but their menu is unique.

This place is unique for what it is, but I would only come again for drinks.

Overall, okay but not slap yo mama good!

3.25 stars (The .25 is for the effort my last server gave...very nice guy.)

I really, really want to like this place and give it 4 or more stars.  Unfortunatley, the food is what holds me back.  There is something just not right about the food.  It often comes out somewhat bland, usually soggy, and generally delivers very low value for the quality, quantity, and price.  Not having been in the kitchen I can't prove it, but I suspect that many of the dishes they serve use frozen meats, prepared sauces and mixes.  The food simply does not taste fresh.

The service is usually very good.  One thing I really appreciate is that the waitstaff will often volunteer to bring you a small sample of whatever wine(s) you're considering ordering.

I have two suggestions for the management:

    1) Change the presentation of the wine menu.  Having the bottles listed on the bottle is cute, but I would suggest you provide a little description/narrative of the wines you carry.  Ostensibly, people who go to a wine bar are interested in wine and want to know some details about what it is they are considering ordering.

    2) You've got to do something about the food.  There are too many good options in the immediate neighborhood who serve superior food at a better price.

In short: Amazing food, very good service, good for dates or groups. On the pricey side, but well worth it.

Went here on a Sunday night while walking around downtown.  From walking up and down Trade St, it looked like it and some Irish sports bar were the only places open.  From the menu we saw that they had wine and some sandwiches that didn't look too expensive, so we walked in.  The hostess was extremely nice and sat my girlfriend and I at a small table in the back.  Shortly after that they brought out some bread and butter.  We decided to split a sandwich and one of their small plates.  I got the hummus wrap (which comes with pasta salad) and she got the fried green tomatoes small plate.  Topped with feta and drizzled with balsamic, the fried green tomatoes were incredible!  The hummus wrap was equally good.  But the pasta salad was our favorite.  Not sure what all they put in it, but it's fantastic!  We both highly recommend this place if you're in the Winston-Salem area.

This is the spot to go for seeing good looking people having cocktails and wine in a swanky atmosphere.....here you'll see all age groups also, some younger people but also and I would say mostly 30 and up and it seems easier to meet people here.

there is always a band or someone playing the guitar or some type of music...and often in front of them it will get crowded with dancing.......the feel here is sexy and sophisticated, but not pretentious.

great darker ambiance....with solid service....inside or outside both are fun places to be.....the food is really good, but a bit overpriced and the portions are too small...after a certian time it only serves a small but impressive menu of some tapas and basically appetizers, still too small of portions though....you can get some reasonably priced wine though...you can find expensive bottles too....overall the drinks are a little expensive but on par with this type of establishment....

I have always had great times here and it's a favorite among Winston-Salem spots...

    4.5 stars

We've been in Winston-Salem for almost two months and have come here three times now.  All three times were later at night and all three times ultimately landed us in the patio area.

The food was good, but a little on the pricey side (we're from LA, where they invented overpriced).  The portions on the entrees were also a bit on the wee side.  But we keep coming back because the ambiance is off the chain and is a fantastic place to gather with friends.

We'll be back, maybe not to eat, but definitely to drink...

I've previously had a couple" Okay but nothing special" visits to 6th & Vine. However, my most recent brunch visit was pretty awful. We had to ask our waiter what the specials were because he wouldn't tell us, and he couldn't answer questions about what were in the dishes on the menu. He brought us cold coffee and seemed annoyed when we asked for hot coffee. He also brought us cold potatoes as our sides..which were supposed to be hot.

I don't ever want to come back here.

Disclaimer: I don't eat wheat or drink wine.

That said, if you want a fresh salad with crisp, bright greens, alright!
The hummus is so awesome, and if you ask they will give you all vegetables to dip.

    The tamales are THE BEST!

If you like a potato vodka dry martini with olives, this is the place.

I have been to this place only once and I loved it. The wine was great and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Skewers was awesome. Moist, Tender and grilled to perfection. I definitely suggest that item. Also they have amazing Flatbreads. My friend ordered the Margherita Flatbread which was excellent. I tried the Flatbread of the Day and I thnk it came with Shrimp and Crab Cake toppings. Not a big fan of seafood toppings. The Dessert was good. I thought they had too much alchohol in their Tiramisu.
Service was good. It was strange everyone at the bar was watching soccer on television. May be it was a European Crowd. Neways, I definitely reccomend the place. Would be a great First Date Location

We've always been fans of tapas - called "small plates" here.  The problem I had with the menu is that it's really not tapas so much as it's a menu of appetizers.  And it's not that I have a problem with appetizers as that they just called it small plates.  So that set me back a bit.  Not monetarily, just from perspective.  The prices were okay.

Food wasn't bad - just different.  We ordered a plate of mussels, and they were decent, if on the small side.  Some of them you could barely see.  Taste was decent.  Also the salmon, and it was on the mushy side, but again the taste was okay.  We also had a flatbread pizza (just called a "flat" - I guess it's a hip college thing).  Again, taste was okay.

Mostly, we were struck by how insanely loud the place was.  When we left, it was like leaving a concert.  The quiet was just so nice after the loudness of the inside that we'd be enduring previously.  So if you're looking for a bar, you'll probably be okay.  Somewhere to enjoy a quiet meal?  Not so much.

I like the idea of 1/2 price bottle night. It's a luxury I think the locals seem to take for granted. It's not something you find in NYC.

The wines are eclectic, but approachable. I had a lovely Napa Valley Pinot Blanc (Valley of the Moon) and the barkeep was nice enough to let me try my first NC wines - a saccharin Riesling and a KICKASS Bordeaux-style blend.

The atmosphere is great - a nice place to meet up with friends for a bite to eat and a nice drink. It's not easy to find some place that has the feeling of ease that 6th and Vine does.

The food menu is a bit ridiculous, though...

Food tries too hard.  Or so I thought whenever I ordered something to eat with my wine.  It's all so very late '90s fusion cliche, and despite this kind of bland, plus the meat always arrived tough and dry.  The dishes sound like they could be good at first, but perhaps because of the fusion they are all lacking in focus.  And the wines were nice but never really thrilled me either.

    That's what I thought.

Until I tried the Sunday Brunch.  Don't eat dinner here, go for Brunch or lunch- delicious!  Fresh!  Perfectly cooked eggs!  Local, in-season produce! Large helpings, wonderful specials- loved the goat-cheese, chive, smoked salmon omelet.  And affordable.  And tastier than Mary's (alas- since I much prefer the Mary's Atmosphere).

Don't go for the wine, don't touch the dinner- go for the Sunday brunch.

    YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

I couldn't disagree more with the other reviews.  Every meal I've had here has been great.

The small plates menu is the only one of its kind in Winston-Salem.  6th and Vine has the only "Tapas" menu in town and I give it high marks for introducing this kind of menu to Winston-Salem.

I'm not a wine drinker, so I can't comment personally, but the people I have eaten with have been satsfied with their wine choices (and the martini menu).

It tends to get crowded on weekend nights, but is dead for lunch and during the day on the weekends - probably the best time to visit.

We also have enjoyed brunch on the weekends.  Try the baked brie... mmmm.

If you have a sweet tooth, give the Chocolate Fondue a try if it's on the menu!

First off, the cafe "6th and Vine" is not at 6th and Vine in Winston Salem. That is the first problem. The second is the food.

A friend of ours bought us a bottle of wine for Christmas - and the bottle was stored at the restaurant for us to have with our next meal.

Bottle? What bottle? I am not sure how you lose a $40 bottle of wine on hold for a customer..... but I digress.

Back to the food. Over time we have had a wide variety from their menu and have been dissatisfied every time. Truly disappointed. The Panini's  were soggy the steaks were tough and the pasta dishes never tasted very good.

I would advise passing this place up and go around the corner to Sweet Potatoes or Finagan's Wake.
