American Turkish Restaurant

Found this place via Groupon, which is the only way I would have ever found it. It's located on the ground level of an office building near the courthouse. It doesn't look like much, but the food was really good. The service was a little slow because we were there at peak lunchtime and it looked like every judge in town was there. The owner seemed to know everyone who walked in the door.. a very homey, neighborhood kinda place. Worth the trek!

I am surprised that I am the first one to write a review on this great restaurant. This place is tucked away in an assuming area next to the courthouse. The parking lot is small so if you can, walk from work. I admit that I was a little skeptical, because of the outside appearance of the restaurant, and later when walking in the tables were covered in a plastic film. However, I was delightfully surprised.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were able to start out our lunch with a vegetable salad and fresh hummus. Both seem to be made from scratch, simple, and very delicious. The vegetable salad was comprised of cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers. Tossed in a simple olive oil and lemon dressing. Who would have thought a simple dish would've been so good, and I would have been easily accommodated to eat this as a meal. The hummus was good, and went well with fresh pita bread they provided.

The main course for lunch was a mix platter of grilled meats such as lamb, chicken, and shaved pieces of veal. fantastic. Overall if you are looking for simple flavors that transform into complex and satisfying meal then this restaurant is right for you. I usually never give out five stars, but this place definitely is in a class of its own.

My only complaint is that the fountain drinks are Pepsi and I hate Pepsi. However, you can get Coke products through the can. Some might feel the service too slow, but Nothing too bad.

I can sum it up in one word: BAD. This place is worn out and dirty.
