3 Stars overall. Â Could go 3.5. Â Mother's day 2013. Â Service grade A for sure - outstanding. Â Lasagne I had - grade C, the sauce on the lasagne was too sweet for my taste and the lasagne was just pasta and ricotta. Â I like the type of lasagne that has all the other ingredients in it as well. Â The lasagne was also very mushy and soft. Â I like a firm lasagne noodle. Â Bread came out warm and butter room temp so, grade A. Â Calamari - grade AI really would never order calamari but my brother was with us and he made the call. Â I must say it was the best calamari I have ever had and I just don't like calamari. Â I ordered a side order of Italian sausage to eat with my lasagne and it came out cold. Â NO EXCUSE for that. Â And, I thought lasagne is supposed to have the meat in it. Â I am not Italian so maybe my expectation were not realistic. Â A true Italian might tell me that the lasagne is supposed to be as I described. Â Would I eat there again? Â Yah, if I am downtown and dying for some Italian, I think I would. Â I would order something other than the lasagne. Â The receptionist is HOT.
Review Source:I LOVE this place. I have been eating here the last 2 years and have always loved my food and service. I think the fabulously gauty Italian decor interior is fantastic and hilarious while assuring you you've arrived at a legit spot for Italian fare. I order the vegetarian lasagna most of the time and in my opinion it is the best in KC. There is a huge piece of breaded eggplant on top and the lasagna is seriously perfect. I know a lot of people are turned off by their sweet red sauce, but I love it. Â They also have a really great alfredo. I will say the one not so great dish I have tried was the Seafood Alfredo with fake crab. But shame on us for even going there- fake crab is a huge red flag any dish is going to be disgusting. I love the ambience and the friendly Italian guys who call me sweetie every time I come in. I order large take out meals from here for annual parties I host and everyone loves the food.
Review Source:My husband and I have been here a handful of times. It's not stand-out fabulous, but it's fine. Many people have mentioned that it is old school, and it is. The salad is basic, but at least it's not all iceberg lettuce so that's good. We had a good experience. Good service, decent food. I've started a list of restaurants without TVs and I will be adding this. There is one small TV in a corner in the bar section, but at least you are not distracted by TVs in every direction of the restaurant.
