I've been here twice in the last few weeks while waiting on people. The service was outstanding (at the bar, and in the bar area). The food was horribly bad, even for an Applebees. The great service is what garnered a second star. First visit, I had the chicken wonton tacos. They were cold - even the parts that were supposed to be hot and fresh. Second time, I had the french onion soup. Which might have been good, if there had been any actually broth in the cup. Too much cheese, too much bread, never found the soup itself. Sigh. From here on out, I'll stick with the drinks at the bar.
Review Source:Just sad... The person taking my carry out order was so rude I laughed. Some of the funny things were he said hello we have car side to go! :) then three seconds later he said now you know you'll have to come inside for that since its after dark. I giggled a bit. Everything he said was weird maybe he'd had a "long day". The last thing he said was your order will be done in 13 moments. Amusing but worried me about this place... When I got there decided it may have also been the rain that shut the car side down...went in and saw tons of workers but took 5 min. To get someone at the bar and they made me move to wait on someone else to come over. Â My nachos weren't even made! Just packaged the ingredients separately if I wanted that I would have went to marsh and made my own thanks!! Then the worst part was they gave me ingredients that were not even for the normal chain nachos. Â There was white cheese and no sour cream. Â I go to chain restaurants for what I know they have, they souls be the same at all locations. Won't be going back to this Applebee's and I'm not one for a one strike your out, but not sure if I'll ever venture to another Applebee's again.
Review Source:My review is in agreement with previous yelpers:
You 'do' know what you're getting when you go there, but the staff is friendly.
The food is definitely "oversalted" (most corporate recipes are), but we love the Broad Ripple location. Â etc etc
But, I give 3.5 to 4.0 stars because of why we occasionly go. Â OK, White River is not the ocean or Lake Michigan, but -- Our only agenda is to get a big salad, sit on the deck, and watch the river boaters go by and show off. Â There's always a couple of boat loads going back & forth practicing their water tricks. Â If they see you watching & you give them a wave, it gets even better. Â It's great summer entertainment w/no cover!
-don't think we've ever gone in the winter or eaten inside!
