Lunch special...2 pieces of pizza and pop.. five bucks
Small but nice place...I guess this is a popular chain on the south side suburbs...it was a good slice of Pizza and the guy showed pride in his store and the history of Aurelios. Â Piping hot slices too, which were quite delectable.
I did read other reviews on how it was kinda expensive...but it IS Naperville am I right?
Used to be our go-to, until they quietly (and significantly) raised their prices. We noticed our typical bill had creeped up a bit, and pulled out an older menu and compared it to one I grabbed on my last visit, and sure enough...they went up. Way up.
The base prices on the pizzas and toppings both went up, so now a typical order of a pizza with a few toppings will be $4-5 more or so.
Aurelio's was always OK for the price, if a little overrated, but at these prices? No freakin' way. Go sell crazy somewhere else, guys. Now we might as well pony up the extra couple of bucks for Lou Malnati's, or find a new go-to cheap pizza joint.
We're done.
I always remember Aurelios as being really good pizza. Â Yesterday I happened to be in town doing some shopping and stopped in for a slice of sausage for lunch at 11:45. Â The pizza was not real warm, greasy and the cheese was not very appetizing either. Â You would think that the pizza would be fresh around lunch time. Â I won't be back.
Review Source:While I agree with the other reviews that the online ordering is not worth the time, if you call and place the order, it generally comes within the specified time frame (often early for me), and is always excellent. Â We don't order pizza very often, but when we do it's almost always Aurelio's. Â The pizza is outstanding!
Review Source:Just placed an online order for delivery. Called to make sure they received it. They had not received it yet and the gentleman went further to tell me that he would not have a delivery driver until 4:00 pm! It is now only 1:35 pm! Â I paid with my credit card online and advised him that when my order pops up, to please delete/cancel my order. Â He explained that they have a delivery driver in the morning and whenever it slows down in the afternoon, they let him/her go until the next driver comes in at 4pm... What a MESS! Â Gentleman was cordial over the phone so there was no bad snotty attitude...but just didn't provide me with a good impression of this restaurant.
Why advise customers who order online that delivery is available then?? Why not just change to pickup only??
BAD BUSINESS!!! Â I will NOT be ordering again from this place.
I tried to order Aurelio's for the first time today. Tried, but never got my food. Why?
I googled Naperville pizza online ordering, wanting to try a new place. Aurelio's came up, and even though I wasn't thrilled with the pricing, I liked the selection and placed an order to be delivered to my office. That was around noon.
The website said I would receive a call within about 15 minutes and my food would arrive in about 45 minutes. I was busy at work and didn't look at the time, until it was 1:30pm and my stomach was growling loudly.
I looked up the website again, found the phone number, stepped out of my office and called the restaurant. The girl who answered asked my name, then acted like she knew who I was and said she knew my "cheese fiesta" hadn't gone out yet. My what? I told her that wasn't what I ordered, then repeated my actual order back to her.
She told me they never received my order, and that that happens sometimes. She said if you place an online order, you then need to call the restaurant to make sure they got the order. So tell me then, WHAT is the point of online ordering if you still have to call?!
She snottily told me to call next time, and I told her there won't ever be a next time.
