This is a review of extremes which is why I am giving it a THREE - an average of FIVE & ONE.
The FIVE - great food, excellent prices, huge portions. We were visiting from out of town and ate here both mornings. The omlettes, home fries, coffee, smoothies were ALL excellent and hot.
The ONE - it is dirty. The floor is filthy, the tables had crumbs, everything felt grimey. When I asked the counter person to clean our table, he did so with a dirty looking rag and then I watched as he made our breakfast without gloves and without washing his hands. GROSS!
Judge for yourself. I think this place could be a gold mine with a reasonable investment in some new flooring, tables, paint, decor, uniforms because the food Is terrific.
Decent  bagels...not too doughy...definitely not the best in the area but I didn't feel like driving another 15 minutes to Nyack hot bagels (which make me cry)!!! I had a good bagel here and an excellent cup of joe!!!  Warning! You have to be willing to run the gauntlet...dodging texting drivers wielding oversized SUVs! Be careful in the lot and if you make it inside ..you will find a clean shop and friendly staff. I'm coming back to try some different breakfast delights next week.
Review Source:I stopped in here for a quick bagel and a cup of joe before a meeting. I always gauge my bagel joints on the quality of their E.T. bagels smeared with their smoked salmon cream cheese. It wasn't too bad. I would definitely return for another.
There is of course a TV and several two-top tables for your enjoyment. I was the only person there which initially alarmed me but the food put those fears to ease.
My only complaint is that they have a minimum on card purchases. Im not sure how I feel about that because the items were very affordable but purchase minimums seem borderline illegal, especially if you look it up on the web.
The Bagel Shop is a great place for a morning sandwich, coffee, and the newspaper. They have all the typical egg sandwiches, as well as healthier options. I like a sausage, egg, and potato sandwich (don't judge until you try it yourself). It's not on the menu, but they are more than willing to accommodate.
The are many options when it comes to lunch sandwiches. I love the grilled chicken with roasted peppers and mozzarella. There are a few tables where you can sit down and enjoy some sports on the flat screen TV.
The Bagel Shop is much more than a simple bagel shop. The menu is huge so explore all of your options. Enjoy!
