Really not a big fan. Full of smoke and bad drinks.

This place is ok.  I go every once in a great while.  Bands on weekends are ok at times.  Like other reviews it does have an over powering smokey smell, and i smoke.  The should upgrade their filter system.  Beers arent expensive, but not cheap either.  like any other place, has decent specials but nothing to write home about.  Good place to play darts with friends, but not to stay all nightI went there before a movie and its strange to see children in there on a saturday at 8pm.  Would never take my little one there.  Wait staff is a plus to this establishment.

Really like this place. It has a cool feel and pub decor. We've been here several times for drinks and only one time to eat so far. The drinks are good and seem to have good specials. I do see they have live music a lot but we haven't been there when there has been some. I was so excited to see they had the margarita bombs (margarita with a baby corona in it). I love them! We've enjoyed ourselves at the bar and also on the patio. The food was pretty good, I had the fish tacos and the sampler app with southwest fiesta poppers, spinach dip and queso. We would def order this again. We like it here and will be back!

Extended Happy Hour until 9PM and all day Sunday (probably the best for the Waterway area). I've only had the food here once and I won't comment on it because I just don't remember what I got. I like the atmosphere in general but I hate the indoor smoking and of course we were sitting near two people who were smoking right next to us. The bathrooms are hidden behind a bookshelf so have fun circling around and getting hit on my a guy who thinks it's cute that you can't find it.

I'll definitely go back for their Happy Hour prices.

I have been to this location a number of times both during the day and at night. While service is good during the day, its miserable at night. Last time I went during the day, I had fish and chips and sat on the patio having a few drinks with friends. Good time all around. The last couple of times we went on a weekend night, its been crowded and service non existent or slow. After trying to get the bar tenders attention for several minutes, I finally was able to order a round of VERY WEAK drinks. The place was full of college kids, douche bags or douche bag kids with their parents. Soooo much fun right? At least the decor is fun, but I'll never go back.

This review is only for The Woodlands Location:

Ok for the pros, they have great food for a pub! I love the fish tacos, spinach salad, fish and chips there! Live music on certain nights, cheap drinks compared to other bars on Waterway Ave.

Cons- smoking! Yuck! I think it's only outside smoking not sure, but every time I go to this joint I leave smelling like cigarette's big time! That right there keeps me from going to this bar.

I like a lot of things and I really dig Baker Street for a number of reasons.  I love their potato skins, I love the atmosphere, both inside and outside is very nice, and service has always been great.  We bring our kids sometimes and the only caveat to that is that people smoke inside, so be aware and sit outside if you have the kiddos.  They used to have a night where kids ate free, that's gone.  They have a great Happy Hour too.

It's another one of those love/hate relationships.

Service is hit or miss, so as my advice goes with most "drinkeries", sit at the bar. As I am a fan and seeker of Happy Hours; Sunday is a full day of happiness (unless of course the disclaimer states modified for a special event & it's karaoke shenanigans, my goodness how karaoke brings out some of the strangest of people.)

    Happy Hour
    2.50 Domestic Drafts
    2.50 Well Drinks
    3.00 Select Calls
    3.50 House Wine
    3.75 Premium Domestic Pints
    3.75 Domestic Big Beer
    4.25 Premium Domestic Big Beers
Also note Sundays has the Bloody Mary Bar from 11AM-3PM.

Can't make too many remarks with regards to the food, I have yet to go here and try any of their food and with previous read reviews I have thus far made a wise decision, though I may take the risk, one day.

The décor is actually rather appealing to me. It's like your stepping into a huge study with random books strewn throughout the pub in every nook and cranny (by the way most are not glued down, and yes, I have checked). The most entertaining piece of décor has to be the hidden bathroom, definitely worth sitting within eye's view to watch the lost drunken (even sometimes sober) souls pulling books thinking there is some secret lever that will grant them access to relief.

Don't really understand places that allow indoor smoking in 2013. Terrible beer selection, but that is standard for The Woodlands.

What a joke this place is. I guess if you don't have the correct look, they will treat you accordingly.
We went just to try the fish and chips. I read some other not so great reviews, but it was close, and we wanted some fish and chips.
The waiter came and took our drink order, I was looking at the menu. He brought our drinks, and left so fast we didnt even have a chance to speak.
We tried to get his attention again, but the only time we saw him was when my wife saw him standing in the doorway picking his nose. That is not an exageration unfortunately.
When he finally came back to see if we wanted another drink, we explained to him that we really wanted to eat, but were not going to do so now. He argued that he asked us if we wanted to eat, which I explained he never did. We got our check, paid and left, and went across the street to one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been to.

OK, it wasn't amazing, but we had a middle-of-the-week 21st birthday and were so relieved to find a place that was open and crowded on a Tuesday night! It was karaoke night!

I didn't try the food but the drinks are creative and strong. I had "Peach Me, Honey": iced tea with honey liquer and peach schnapps...yummy! Raspberry Shock Top on draught for girls! We also had Gummi Bear shot (pass) and a birthday cake one (good!). Birthdays get a free shot. It wasn't very expensive, $20 for 4 drinks.

The service was attentive and nice. They also have pool, darts, and a giant jenga game. There are probably better options on the weekend, but I would certainly recommend this place for a fun time in the middle of the week when the rest of the Waterway is deader'na doornail.

Alright, another review for this crappy pseudo Irish pub chain.  Loud, crowded, crappy service, crappy food, bad beer list.  Why do they need to have crappy cover bands play?  How many times can I say crappy? Bathroom attendants, really?  Why come here when Gooses Acre is down the road.  Go there for half way decent pub atmosphere and food.

    more like 3.5/5 stars.

they allow people to smoke inside which makes it difficult to eat or just to chill and grab a drink.  its super weird since california doesn't allow people to smoke inside let alone 30 feet from a building... haha.

they have decently priced drinks and cocktails.

since i was in texas... i had to try the southern style chicken minis.  but to be honest it tasted like a mcchicken from mcdonalds.  lol.  but on the bright side, i think i went during happy hour?  and it was decently priced.

the door way to the bathroom is the best thing about this place.  i love places that have hidden passageways and hidden compartments.  the bathroom is hidden behind the bookshelf near the darts.  i felt like i was James bond running through a building...on a missing to diffuse a bomb.

i think they have a live band which plays on random nights... they usually play older rock songs.

they also have a nice patio to sit outside, but who wants to sit outside when the temp is like 90+?!   i guess i'm spoiled that i live in California.  hah.

I'm originally from Britain so the Pub is an important part of the community. You dont go to the Pub for great food but for the craic with your friends or the staff.  There are two crowds that go to Baker st, the ones prior to 10pm and the younger after 10pm crowd. I love sitting on the patio watching the world go by with a couple of drinks and a cigar. The waitresses are very attentive and fast with orders, and its great going to place where they remember your drink. As for the food its good pub food nothing fantastic but its reasonably priced and very quickly served. I go at least once a week and have never had a problem. You cannot beat their happy hours. If you dislike smoking this is not the place for you.

We came here for lunch and realized quickly why the good reviews always note "bar hopping" and "nightlife" - because the food is mediocre at best!  You apparently have to drink heavily to want to eat any of it!

We were at a convention at the Marriott and decided to come here for lunch.  My fries made me understand what my parents meant when they said something was as "tough as shoe leather".   I spit quite a few of them out.  The chicken tenders were good, but tiny and not worth the money.

So if you just want to play darts or pool, get drunk, or maybe meet someone else with similarly poor taste buds, then this is the place for it!  If you want a good meal then there are plenty of places nearby with much better food.

Beer options are awesome - top of the line with local brew.  Bartenders personable and efficient.  I did not order food so I can not comment on that.  Happy hour until 9 was a definite plus.  From Virginia and I am not use to smoking inside - smoking here was pretty intense.  Thus, I can only give this place three stars totally on the fact the place was smoke filled.  Without smoke it would be a fantastic local place to hang.

This "pub" has slowly gone down hill over the years.  Is their General Manager BLIND!!?  Has he/she lost their sense of smell?  Sticky, dirty and a general feeling of uncleanliness. And the waitstaff isn't far behind.  The food is edible when drunk.

    This place is in dire need of a Bar Rescue ( <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spike.com%2Fshows%2Fbar-rescue%2F&s=265832bdd0fda4f56b70591ca256d17dbd2cc01743aa42453a9dee836ba27ce3" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.spike.com/sho…</a> ).

Baker Street is the "Cheers" of our community, they make you feel at home every time you come into the pub, it's like seeing your family, there's hugs and kisses. Baker Street threw an awesome appreciation party for their patrons and what a good time that was! All kinds of cool prizes of which, 4 people from my table alone were winners of some pretty cool stuff. Thanks BAKER STREET in the WOODLANDS, for all you do for those of us who come to hang out with you...

We were staying at The Marriott across the street for a conference, so we decided to come here for some late night drinks.  I'm from Austin so to walk in somewhere that allows smoking inside was just disgusting!  I appreciate Austin so much more now!

The smoking isn't the reason I gave this place two stars though.  Our server was very slow.  We were there for a few hours and some of us were having to go inside to the smoke-filled bar to order drinks.  Not happy about that, but we needed a drink.

I've been to the one in Austin as well, and wasn't very impressed with it either.  It's just eh!

Nothing extraordinary here.. .Food is decent, service is decent, atmosphere is decent...

Pro: Extraordinarily long happy hour running until 9pm Mon-Sat and all day on Sunday.. I like that..
        Food was average, nothing special.
Service was ok, the server came and went, nothing noteworthy; but could have came back a bit more often

Con: fills with spoke pretty quickly,  which I dislike.
Food prices are 'low' for The Woodlands Square, but still not enough to entice me to be a frequent..

Overall, good for the occasional lunch or dinner.

Hello Fellow Woodlanders, we just relocated here from Denver so this is my first review in Texas, and lots of choices for drinking, eating, spending money in all directions. After a 3 day drive from Denver and checking into our corporate housing in The Woodlands only one block from Baker Street, it caught our eye on a Sunday afternoon for a few cold ones and football. (My beloved Eagles were on the tube) This appears to be a British Style pub and apparently smoking was allowed during certain hours, a change after the years of no smoking in Denver pubs. However, the smoke was light, and good beer selection. Service was consistent on a non busy football Sunday afternoon (we thought Dallas fans would be everywhere) but we tried a burger with fries, I did ask to make the fries extra crispy but the signals were crossed (I am a crispy FF fan). Burgers were crispy, Cherry Creek girl ordered chicken sliders which were reall small nuggets on dinky rolls, not much flavor in the spicy sauce.
Overall, seemed like a good place to have an adult beverage or two but Baker Street was our first food and drink experience in The Woodlands. We would probably give them a second chance on the food in the future, but, so many places to dine, so much time!

Baker's is among the most popular nightlife bars in The Woodlands. I always see at least three people I know when I go. It's usually packed on Fri/Sat nights, so walking from one end of joint to the other is no piece of cake. They serve food up until like 8pm or something (Irish American fare). There's a patio, pool table/darts, cigarettes and a small stage.

Fun place though! Definitely a great place to strike up a conversation with a stranger or just hang with friends :D

This place blows.  If you go on the weekends at night there's always the most terrible band in the world playing songs that no one except dumb cougars/bros want to hear.  I think I've heard them place Don't Stop Believin 3 times in one night.  We get it, you're talentless.  It's so loud that you can't think and I've left this place with a sore throat many times after having to yell at my friends to have a simple conversation.  I can't wait for the day when people learn that loud is not better.  It also feels dirty as hell (because it is) and has some god awful service.  Only worth going to if you want to see a bunch of dumb sluts walking around, but then again I have the internet with porn capabilities so thus this place is pointless.

I dont think of this place in terms of food, this is place is soley a pub in my mind.  Great atmosphere.  This place is laid back and doesn't try to be trendy but it kinda is because of its location.  It can attract dudes of the "Tapout" T-shirt variety but is usually outweighed by more normal people.  Also, I had a friend that took home a waitress so some points go towards their commitment to customer service.

I almost hate this place, but if you go before it turns into the Brosef populated club that it is after 9ish...it isnt' that bad. The sandwich I had wasn't too bad the ONE time I ate here. But it wasn't enough to make me go back. This place is mostly a bar, that serves mid-quality food before. Super clean bathrooms with an attendant and toiletries for the women, I can't speak for the men. But it's behind a faux bookcase, very cool. The live music is usually awful, and it's ALWAYS TOO. LOUD. Smells of stale cigarettes. I don't know why.

Finallllllllllyyyyyy my sister turns 21 and we are able to get in after 9PM. Geeezz!

The location is actually not that bad, but if you come on a weekend you could find yourself parking a little ways away. The Baker Street Pub is located on The Woodlands version of "Main, St." haha. Feels good to go to a place in our "hood"(The Woodlands lol) instead of commuting to midtown for a dranky-drank special.
We decided to go on a Tuesday night to this fancy pub place situation in honor of my sister finally not prohibiting us to check it out. FYI, if you don't like the smoke smell, sit near the T.V.'s towards the back of the restaurant. Most of the smoking was done centrally due to the bar and booth seating. The guy at the door had a hot U.K. accent and the first waitress was really nice, pleasant smile. Oh but whoa! then all of sudden they gave us a waitress who doesn't smile and she spoke in a monotone voice, which made for a great theatric with the restaurant decor' & furnishing dark wood and lighting. Inspite, she did suggest some really great and exclusive drinks that included (triple-sec & some patron) since it was Happy Hour, we had a great time!

Mon.-Sat. 2-9PM Happy Hour!? It's a G-O! You can catch me in the building for the $2 Margaritas, $2.50 House wine & $2.50-3.00 Select calls with a small cup of baked potato soup (shredded cheese, chives & bacon pieces on top)
Since it was our first time visiting this place and we are in Texas, you really can't go wrong with a burger, right? My sister ordered a burger with Gouda cheese, one of my friends ordered a burger with onionrings inside and I ordered beer-battered (tempura batter)chicken strips with seasoned fries. Food was average but nothing ravisssshing, but it did the job; We were full. The overall experience was nice, excluding that typical smell of cigarette smoke, it was stale.

Baker's Street Pub have a really nice website, sooo in the "now"

I would have given this place 4 stars, but the fact that I reeked of cigs when I left has left me in a not so positive mood about this place.  I came here on a Tuesday night for karaoke night and it was a whole lot of fun.  I ordered a cider and sat down at a table right in front of the stage.  The fact that they have Woodchuck Cider at this place on tap makes me a very very happy girl.

The crowd was in there late-30s and upper 40s, and I was perhaps one of the few people in here that was in her early 20s.  But, this is the Woodlands, suburbia at its best, with most of the population in their 30s and above with lots and lots of children.

I had a good time here and I really enjoyed the karaoke night.  If you are in the area you should give it a try.  On the weekends when this place is packed, it is not nearly as fun.  Come to karaoke night, and please, leave your cigs at home.

This place was really fun when it first opened and it was the new, cool thing in The Woodlands but now, it is nothing special.

The bar is pretty and the service is surprisingly fairly attentive and fast but the place is just too small.  Table are usually hard to find unless you get there really early and there is not a lot of standing room unless you just stand in the walkway areas and get bumped into a million times.

On a good note- Baker St always has great bands!!! It is a great place to go to listen to live music...mostly rock/cover bands.

The bathroom ( or the door to the bathrooms ) is pretty cool...and confusing.  Just go, you will see what I mean.  I feel like an idiot everytime I need to go to the bathroom...no matter how many times I have been here!

I am sure I will come back here a lot more since I am in The Woodlands alot... But it is just ok...

I like to make a trip to the Woodlands a couple of times a month and I always seem to end up here!! I like this place but I don't love it. It has the same Baker's Street feel that we all know and love but its one of the smaller locations and it just seems to small for all the people that go there. The beer on tap is always good and the waitstaff treats you like a regular even when you're not. You gotta get there early or you'll will be standing the whole night. There isn't a lot of room to maneuver or walk around because of bumping into folks spilling drinks. The bar area is small and cramped, the patio area is as well. The food is OK and it feels like the quality has gone down through these tough times. The grilled chicken and garlic cream sauce has always been my favorite dish because of the flavor, portions, and price but the portion is smaller, my mash tater was cold, and the chicken was dry and overcooked. I didn't get full but thanks to the pitcher I was downing I was all right. This place seems more like a place for regulars in the area and everyone knows everyone here, people are friendly but there are some dbags but hey its the Woodlands!! The band was actually great but I didn't catch their name. I'd recommend this place if you're ever in the Woodlands just expect the same Bakers/Sherlocks atmosphere just a lil bit smaller. I like this place I really do I try to love it but I can't.

Baker Street.  The Woodlands' own McPub.  Predictable generic pub decor, bad food, the stench of smoke (good lord, it's 2008, not 1981) cheap booze and the crowd that you'd expect to be attracted by all of the above.

If you care about the food, the air, the liquor, the crowd, or the setting, walk 200 feet south and hit the Goose's Acre pub instead.  It's worlds better.

    ****
    Yay! I'm a fan.

Before I rate the food, service, or drinks let me just say my favorite part about this fairly new pub is the hidden bathroom...

Along a rather large section of one wall is a floor to ceiling wooden bookcase completely filled with real-looking pseudo books. There's a sign that points to the bookcase annoucing the restrooms, but if one doesn't know any better it seems like a joke. In reality, you just push one section of the bookcase inward to reveal a secret passagway to the potty. What's quite hilarious about this is that really drunk people wander over, doing the pee-pee dance, looking dumbfounded at the bookcase: "Huh? Restrooms? Where?" They look around as if the restroom is just going to pop up out of the floor. It had me in stiches. The owner definitely has a sense of humor, or perhaps, I should say the designer/builder.

All the fun aside, this is just a regular, run of the mill sports pub. Lots of wood, a pool table in the corner, an outside patio, good drinks (slightly pricey), freakin' awesome tator skins and lots and lots of beautiful people (this is the Woodlands, afterall...SF, CA people read: Danville).

Good place if you want to take a walk along the waterfront after a night of drinking. Even better if you want to watch drunk people pretend to read the spines of books!

Proximity is everything, no?  My new work address is across the street from Baker Street Pub.

Most memorable items from first few visits to Baker Street:  cigarette smoke smell, restrooms mysteriously behind a bookshelf (fun), dark wood, fake accessories galore, ok menu, best of all...........$2 killian's on tap mon thru sat 4-9pm and all day Sundays.  Screw that sixer, I'll have a pint o Killian's Red for 2 bucks.

Beer obsession aside, the Warm Spinach Salad with Hot Bacon Vinaigrette is simply amazing.  It's good without the dressing.  However, you have to at least drizzle the vinaigrette over the perfectly cooked green beans and potatoes.  Goodness!

Service is spotty.  Good environ......make it work for you.  Don't order dishes that attempt to be too cool.  Stick with simple things and you can't go wrong.  Blackened Chicken Pasta in an English Pub....NO.  Shrimp.........NO.  Go with Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, etc.  Anything that sounds like Bennigan's.........avoid.

    Beer - Good
    Salad/Soup - Good
    English - Good
    Cajun - Bad

Baker Street is what you make it.
