Very nice little bar. Lots of new bars in Old Town these day and this one is as good as any. Warm and cozy with very good service and comfortable seating. Great selection of beers on and tap and a full bar. Haven't tried the food but looks great. Very clean and friendly. Excellent happy hour prices. Met a lot of nice folks there.
Review Source:A Clean Bar! An amazing feature around here. Fried food- always a bonus (the oreos are the best!) and the chicken salad isnt very good (poor quality lettuce). Its sort of a bummer the bartenders play their own music so when you use the jukebox sometimes they dont notice. Â Mixed crowd...old people and young people can all be found here. Shot of stoli is 6$ which seems too expensive and I wish I could get a 12oz beer. Wish all the pool tables were quarters, the ones in the back are too expensive at 8$ an hour. Ugh, the womens bathroom is not labeled as a womens only bathroom (but the mens bathroom is labeled as a mens bathroom) so drunk dudes use the womens bathroom and pee all over the seat- lame! Pretty fast service from the bartenders (dont usually go at peak times though) and parking is easy. 2$ pint night is solid.
Review Source:Bar-Fly is the quickest way to get fat in Eureka, and I write this in a good way. I like alcohol and I like deep fried anything. For some reason alcohol and deep fried anything always go well together and they taste even better at this place. It also helps that this place is pretty clean.
Karaoke on Wednesday nights is something you need to check out. If not for the food or alcohol, sheerly for the entertainment factor.
The bar itself isn't bad- but it is very small and on busy nights everyone holds their chairs and tables... which is kind of annoying but not surprising....
So far I haven't seen the bathroom a mess which is good news! A clean bar bathroom in Humboldt can be a rare thing. Thing is it's just ONE bathroom so sometimes there can be a long long wait.
The woman bar tender is really nice but she does seem to serve men first so that's kind of lame. Also when it's busy they only have her and a bar-back so if you're like me and you want to order a cocktail or something you might have to wait and wait or you might get something less then what you really wanted. I don't really like to drink beer but when I go to bar fly I sometimes get beer just because I rather not have a messed up drink- wish there are some more service back there is all.
Best thing about bar-fly is the karaoke! I'm all for it.
Oh and the nachos are yummy! Great to have a bar that serves food late (that's a huge plus around here!)
Wish it had better hours. Â Looked all day Sunday for a cocktail and appetizer place, Eureka sucks for this. Â Was hoping bar fly would be open, great place...but now closed on Sunday's??? Â Bad enough they only have limited hours (4-?), but closed on a Sunday? Weekends are money makers, IMHO.
Review Source:The food here is excellent.  It's basically casual bar food that goes well with beer or cocktails, but with a twist. The service is freindly and the food came out nice and hot with a nice presentation.  The fish and chips are excellent as are the burgers, and I had never even heard of fried green beans but I tasted one and they are awesome!  They are served with a chipolte sauce that I loved.  They have a few dessert items as well, including a fried twinkie.  I wanted to try this just for the novelty and it turned out to be AMAZING!!! so tasty like a warm donut with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar.  The building looks great, its been completely redone from its old decrepit state and looks like there could be a lot of space to dance if the furniture get moved a bit.  They also have kareoke which is awesome for me because now I don't have to drive to Blue Lake!  This is gonna be my new regular spot.  It was frusterating that a lot of  the bars around the county are smelly and run down, this is beautiful, new, and clean without the stuffy atmosphere you find in the restaurant bars (which are the only nice ones!)  or the fights and wannabe gansta kids who frequent the Pearl.  I would highly recommend Bar Fly, even just for a bite, it kind of has a bar and grill feel like Applebee's but with way tastier and higher quality of food (that is actually served hot!) I'm also super excited that now there's somewhere to get real food after 9 PM instead of taco bell or yucky denny's!  Kudos to the owners for cleaning this joint up!
Review Source:Visited bar for the first time. Â Had fish & chips which were amazing. Â Friend ate the fried green beans. Â The green beans were just as good! Â Loved loved the chipotle sauce - it was really was tasty! Â Liked the decor and friendly bartender. Â Will most def visit again. Â A big plus they offer 3 pool tables and its clean too!
Review Source:Fantastic new bar in town! Â It's classy, clean and has a great atmosphere to it! What I love most about this place is the friendliness of the staff. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It's like having our very own "Cheers" in Eureka. There's something for everyone at the pub including flat screens, pool tables, a dyn-o-mite juke box with genres from every decade and impeccable food!!! I love dancing with my friends there and enjoying the ambience that is the Barfly!!
Review Source:New place on the waterfront - location couldn't be helped, but it's not what I'd call a safe part of town, making the Pub Crawl home difficult.
The food was excellent...Fried Green beans and Potato Skins. Well made pub food for a price you can't beat.
The Jerry and Coke was made perfectly.
Going to check out Wednesday night Karaoke next week!
