When I'm in the Ardsley area, I try to stop by this fabulous Italian deli and pick up some treats to hold me over for a couple of days. They have such a grand selection of fresh pre-made dinners varying in different pasta cuisines, chicken meals and vegetables. They even offer a deal, buy six and get one free. A single guys dream- to have a meal every night of the week.
On top of their pre-made meals, they serve fresh hot food lunches daily. Their counter is covered with side dishes, such as string beans, fried broccoli, fried raviolis, chicken cutlet mixed with fresh mozzarella, among over great edibles.
Also along their counter, they offer a panini with fried eggplant, chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, and roasted pepper. This is where I come in because this is my signature purchase from Battaglia. They even warm it up and press it for me. They throw in a small pack of potato chips as a side piece. Â As a dessert, I'll grab a rice pudding!
Today, I happened to notice they offer fresh homemade fettucini, packaged. Just a quick background, I have been craving homemade fettuccini for 3 weeks and I would have never thought to see it just sitting there. So thank you Battaglia for finally alleviating my fettucini craving!
On top of the awesome selection, the workers are on top of it and keep the line moving.
Delicious. Superb. Tasty.
My co-workers told me to give this place a try -- so I did. I got a "Big Joes" sandwich, which consists of breaded chicken cutlet, mozzarella, roasted red pepper and some oil and vinegar. The sandwich was huge! I ate half of it and saved the rest for later in the evening. The chicken was excellent, the mozzarella was nice and soft, but not too gooey and the red peppers tasted great.
I grabbed a bean salad for a side dish and it was very good. There was a good mix of beans, as well as onion and celery in it. It was a touch salty for my taste, but I'm very picky and don't use salt on anything -- so it would probably be great for most. Either way it didn't stop me from enjoying it.
The guys that work there are also friendly and helpful. I think I found a new place to grab lunch while I'm at work.
Great deli for sandwiches or some pre-made Italian food to-go. The panini sandwich with grilled chicken, mozarella and roasted red peppers is awesome. I like the eggplant rollatini the best out of their to-go dishes. They even have a decent linguini with white clam sauce. The meat selection always seems fresh and high quality. Solid all around.
This place is tucked away on the Dobbs Ferry side of the bridge going over the Saw Mill Pkwy and connecting Dobbs and Ardsley. It's part of the tiny shopping center there.
THE. BEST. DELI. EVER.
I am a deli snob, sorry. After living in Maryland for a year, I've just learn to appreciate the taste of a great sandwich.
They add tons of meat, ALL FRESH INGREDIENTS, and they're quick and cheap.
My humungous roast beef hero costs 6.75 which is CHEAP considering the amount of meat that is on there.
Besides that, all the other food is great in there, from the fresh meats to the prepped entrees. Â
6/5 stars all day.
Oh my goodness. It doesn;t get any better.
Stopped here to buy a soda before getting on the freeway, and discovered one fine eatery. Â I picked up eggplant parmigan and had to come back the next day for more.
I have now tried subs, cheese, meats, and many other prepared foods and have never been disappointed.
The best eggplant parm sub I ever had. Â The eggplant itself was breaded and baked into a succulent, moist and sweet amalgamation of blue-collar deliciousness that included fresh melting cheese that oozed with a sweet savory creaminess that I never experienced in a parmesan sub. Â The creamy flavors soaking into the toasted Italian bread was what propelled the sub from good to great. Â I wouldn't be surprised if they used a little heavy cream somewhere in there too. Â It was rich, but not too overwhelming because tart marinara sauce cut nicely through the sub to balance the whole thing. Â With that sub I had a portebella mushroom baked with roasted red peppers, sauteed onions, and covered with melted mozzarella cheese. All that for under $10 AND you get a complimentary bag of chips. Â (also, chicken parm, fried artichoke hearts, sausage and peppers sub, and the list goes on of wonderfully comforting Italian deli fare)
