Beebs An American Bistro

The food was very good, the service was a little slow, but very personable. I LOVE that they  use locally grown, fresh ingredients, and that it's a small operation run by the owner and his girlfriend.

I was delighted by the fact that they grow their own herbs and veggies.

I ordered the lobster ravioli and the chicken. The ravioli was done well- unfortunately in small portions.  the chicken is FREE RANGE- yea that excites me.

I've been here ten maybe fifteen times.  They have old Armagnac!  Most restaurants and waiters can pronounce or spell Armagnac, let alone have it!

The pate platter is a steal at $10.  The beer's plentiful on tap and mostly micro brews. The daily specials are mostly well made.  I ordered veal ossobucco last time and the waitress, who wasn't very knowledgeable brought braised pork back???  

If it wasn't the second best place in town it would have bothered me.

The best?  Cena 2000, but, this is a really good down home second.

You know whats worse then bad food? Bad food chock full of expensive ingredients!! Beebs is okay, well its okay if you are stuck in Newburgh,NY, if you're practically anywhere else its terrible. What's worse is that they have amazing ingredients like truffle oil which mainly goes to waste when its used on overcooked shrimp, chicken so overcooked it feels like leather. They make a quesadilla and I swear I was wondering where the cheese was!! Just very mediocre food, there is no reason really to stop by, you'll drop 20-30 a person and you'll more then likely be displeased with your food. Skip this one, if you're looking for good food in the area, try Youngest Brother.
