  Really surprised at the low rating by Yelpers, but after a weekend in Indiana, I think that speaks more to the taste of locals than the quality of the food. After two days, I just had to admit myself as a West coast girl and find a salad for goodness sakes!
  At Bella Vita, the bread was a great start to an overall fantastic meal. Salads were fresh and all the dressings are homemade.
  My dish was a tilapia with risotto and vegetables -- outstanding! The Mr. ordered a creamy chicken fettuccine and was happy, also.

  First impression: empty, but I'm striving and craving Italian food. I'm on foot in a new city so too lazy to walk somewhere else because this is so convenient.
  
  Wine list: below average for an Italian restaurant.
  
  Bread: bland and a bit doughy. Nice decorative "seasoning" on top; too bad it does not add flavor.
  
  Chicken Parmagiana: gross!!! Overly fried. Tomato paste passed off as marinara. Ick!!! Sooo disappointed :-(

  Map location is incorrect - it is in the Circle Center Mall not on the IUPUI campus.
  
  Grilled salmon was pretty good - the asparagus was mushy - not good.
  
  Salad was ok+
  
  Service was average.

  Nasty.  The hostess was rude, the carpet was really dirty with tons of trash, and then the server was extremely unfriendly.  So bad, didn't even bother to stay for dinner.  Sad that the two restaurants next door were packed on a Saturday and this place was empty.  Says a lot, should have stayed away!

  This place took over where Bertollini's was in the mall.
  My prediction: gone by summer 2010.
  
  Ordered Fettucine Bolognese. Serving size was large. The tomato sauce had an off flavor. The meat was ok if slightly salty.

  If this is a sister store to the Bella Vita Ristorante on Fall Creek Rd., I'm glad I haven't been there either.
  
  Four Words. Don't waste your time. (okay maybe five words)
  
  Went here for dinner last Wednesday night. I am not an Italian food fan to begin with but was told the place was new and all the rage. New? Perhaps. Rage? I don't think so.
  
  Got the devour downtown special. Appetizer was some fried mozzarella wedges that came out cold, unseasoned and with some crappy, tasteless orange sauce for dipping that I could not even tell what flavor spectrum it represented. we didn't even eat them all.
  
  We mysteriously got salads we didn't order, as with several others in our group (about 10 of us) most of the salad got pushed away in disgust from the "house" dressing dumped on top.
  
  For dinner, I ordered the Garlic Cream Linguine. Tasteless. Cold. Ugh. Perfect continuance of mediocrity.  Was only able to choke down about 1/4 of it. My partner in crime got some ravioli so tasteless she can't even remember what it was supposed to contain.
  
  In summary, review line two. (don't go there)
  
  (she claims the lemon gellato was ok, if that scores them any points)
