The Bistro by the Pier

One of the worst experiences we had in a long time. Went in with a large party (about 12). They knew we were coming...but completely understaffed in the kitchen.
They brought our meals in thirds, Forgot to bring out certain orders. To make things worse food was just OK. Nothing special. I won't remember the food, but I will remember the bad service.

Unfortunately I should have known that the lunch would be mediocre at best by the fact that the server did not know what I mean by draft beer ("you mean bear from a gun?")

Next--did not know what beer was available, and without a menu, did not have a description or complete list

The Bistro proclaims a bit of New Orleans in Chicago--boy, their Grand momma would not be happy with the gumbo-- sparse liquid, too much rice, and to forward with the hot sauce.  The only taste was hot sauce, without any complexity, despite a dark roux look....

OMG Burger was cooked OK (medium well was a little pink), but dripped oil and made bun soggy by the time it reached the table.  The meat was under seasoned and there was very little taste of pesto until I had a little bit of remaining bun

Got out of dodge before desert

Sorry to see that the location will be a death sentence again, this time, not helped by the lackluster food.
