Bliss Cafe and Lounge

Ive been coming here for quite a while and they just recently started charging a mandatory 18% gratuity, but not stating it in the menu or anywhere around the cafe.  YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY IT UNTIL THEY STATE IT.  Its illegal.  They admitted they knew it was illegal when i told them i woudnt pay it.  they didnt fight me, but i will not be returning seeing as morally i dont want to support an establishment that is knowingly illegally taking their customer's money.  I feel if enough people refuse to pay the 18% gratuity they will take it away.  I already dont agree with the mandatory tipping practices, but pay them if i know going into my order that i will be faced with that in the end.  

As many of you who have been here before, you never see your receipt. This further pushes me over the edge with the tip thing because no where do you see that you are being charged 18% extra. in my case it was almost $6!

I definitely did not feel that they deserved an 18% tip seeing as what i wanted to order they, "no longer had", and i had to ask for two things twice.  and waited literally 27 minutes to get coals because EVERY server was sitting at a table smoking hookah and eating.  

This business has gone very far downhill since i started going and i am sad that it has come to this.  But the business practices are just not worth my money anymore. there are far better places out there, one is literally a block away.  

step your game up, bliss! I have a feeling you will be losing a lot of customers.

Really good hookah here. Not to mentioned food! Did you know you can bring your own alcohol? Awesome!

Now, what is not so awesome: the waitresses customer service. They don't acknowledge you. You have to track them down. And they come off arrogant.
