I took my daughters and found the Lobster Fest to be unremarkable, rather blah and I did not appreciate the addition of a 20%  gratuity for a party of 3 and where the wait staff only brought water and then 2 lobsters and a lobster roll to the table, sincerely doubt I will visit there again.

Came here on Mother's Day for brunch with a group of 10. When we arrived they were not set up yet and had us wait, along with several other families out on their patio.  I was immediately turned off.  Apparently this place serves as a club at night, which is great, but cigarette butts were still in ashtrays, there was tons of dried up gum and just gunk on the floor and the plastic outdoor furniture was not properly wiped down as it was wet and dirty.

Once sat I saw it was a buffet style brunch which I'm not a huge fan of. They had the usual items for the breakfast portion including an omelette station.  I stuck to the lunch side of things and tired some fresh mozzarella and tomato which was good but only a few pieces had balsamic vinegar on it and once they were gone there was no bottle to drizzle my own.  Also I had the chicken marsala which was ehh, flavorless.  They had something that I think was carbonara but was extremely dry.  What I did like was they had a carving station that included leg of lamb and even though it was boneless, it still was juicy and an oasis in a desert of blah.

Dessert was ok with a selection of cakes, pies and ice cream and service was good.

All in all it was disappointing with a brunch that fit most places and didn't showcase anything that can make Blue stand apart from the rest.

Do not have a party here!!!!
Had a bridal shower for my sister.... On a Sunday, when they open for private parties only...
    1) Catering manager was a nightmare to deal with. Should have known then but this is wear the bride wanted her shower! We were given a price menu but when we came to book she told us pricing changed... Although online they still offered the "old pricing". She honored it after we fussed (but we also were booking for an event that was in 4 weeks so she knew she wasn't selling out that day). But, then she would not budge or add anything. Everyone knows their is room for negotiation. But not here!

    2) no valet for private parties! We were never told this until a Week before! So our guests had to carry their large items from the parking lot. Very disappointing.

    3) It was understaffed. Two waiters who were also the bus boys!  They were not very competent and made you feel like this was their first time handling a private function. The "maitre d" was too busy flirting with the receptionist who was taking pictures of herself for face book at the check in... While my guests hung up their own coats!

    4) very small portions. The appetizer was "family style"... But all came on one plate, with only one item per person (one shrimp, one clam...). This was very deceiving and not how it was presented to us.

    5) the room was not ready when we got there to set up. Not very fun when you h e to decorate with less than 30min before your guests arrive!

    6) we ordered a beverage package and noone was offered a drink besides the main table. They only served the "champagne punch". This was embarrassing!!!

The place looks nice and food is average. For the price you pay, find another establishment to host your event!

I don't know how this place can earn more than one star.  They use frozen food, and the place is a dive.  Look around, things are falling apart.  I've been dragged here by family that lives out that way, and it's always abysmal.

If you own a restaurant, especially on an island, the least you can do is cook fresh food, especially fresh fish.

    Don't bother.

I have gone to Blue on a few occasions, but only during Social Hour (4-7:30). The restaurant is beautiful, the bar is trendy and modern, and the outside terrace is gorgeous. In all of my experiences, the waiter service has always been on point, even at its busiest. The last time I went, the manager catered to my fiance and me which was very gracious of him (thanks Luke!).

The bar menu offers a bounty of selections to choose from, all very delicious in their own right. I usually only order the sushi rolls (some of which are half priced during social hour as well) which I devour. All drinks are made to perfection, there's a good beer selection to choose from, and the Pinot Grigio can really knock you out! MMMM YUM!

The crowd on the Friday nights I've been there is always a lot older-- 35+. I'm always the youngest one there-- there aren't many 20somethings around.

This is a restaurant I will return to again and again.

Went to Lobsterfest on 7/12/12, should have gone elsewhere - buffet not as good as it had been last year, hot food just coming out of the kitchen was luke warm at the most, lobster was well done and rubbery.  No chance of going there again.  For the price I could have bone to Buteras or another one of the better Sayville Restaurants

    Went for the lobster fest
On line and newspaper says last seating is 8:45 pm
We called and asked if we needed reservations
The hostess did not seem to be able answer questions
She told us we can be seated but the seating was changed to 8 pm
We got there and was seated     6 waiters were busy in the dining room. No one
    Gave us eye contact
The table had a splotch of tomato sauce on the linen and crumbs all over the table
We waited for 15-20 minutes.  No one approached the table. My husband tried to wave someone down.   They ignored him
    We left.     Never again

Nice place...sushi was decent. The happy hour special were a bargain. Half price sushi rolls as well as other apps...you can't beat it with a stick. $3 Blue Point Toasted Lager on tap as well! There is a nice bar area.

I had heard good things about Blue, but they didn't live up to those expectations. Decor was quite worn (floor looked beaten up, seat torn). Food was ok, just not as exceptional as I was led to believe. Emphasis was more of a club scene, but the small restaurant area didn't seem to be focused on any particular audience (some couples, some families, some senior citizens). Maybe it was because a weeknight. You can give it a shot if you like, but I wouldn't be making the trek out that far to sample it again.

Blue was a typical bar and club.  If you are 50 or over..better places to meet people exist.  The wait staff at the bar look trashy at best.  I did not know if I was part of the scene out of New Jersey, I was waiting for snooky to appear.    The Drinks were ok- lots of boozie in the Pina Colada- I needed two hands to grasp the thing.  The crowd looked cheap as well. Shorts, cropped jeans, etc. Not the most upscale crowd- there was a dance club attached to the bar that had a DJ with mixed tunes- the outside patio was filled with smokers.  You just about choked on all the cigarette smoke out there.  There is valet parking.
I personally would not go back..Blue is trying hard to be something it is not.

Hang in there with me on this update. Blue is my favorite night spot w/dancing, great food, and friendly people. Yesterday, we had a problem with lift off. We arrived to a lovely, private, outdoor, table with nineteen people. I had asked for four tabs for ease of payment, and an agreement was made by phone. Once seated, our waiter, Jade, make it known, with attitude and raised voice, that he was not going to bill four tables. The food, once more, was great...Blue Salad, coconut shrimp, the surf and terf, and more was very well received. Our waiter dropped a tray of wine filled glasses and later slipped as he entered the door. The tab arrived with tip included as often is the practice with groups. A keen eye noted that $3 additional was added to the lge salads and $2 was added on to the cost of the smaller salads. We brought this to Jade's attention, and he corrected the error and took off an additional dollar for good measure. Three people decided to pay with credit cards, and he could not keep the amts straight. Our diners had to follow him to be sure he got it right. He made an error that had to be corrected. We fine tooth combed the tab and left the table. Jade hunted us down near the bar, placed his hand on the suit collar of our male member who give him the total cash and said, "You are short $46." My friend was pressed through the crowd BY HIS COLLAR as I followed hot on their heels and ready for some fur to fly. My friend is malicious. We ended up at the hostess podium near the entrance where the cash was being thrown down. Mid way in counting, Jade stopped and apologised in Spanish to my Hispanic friend who was not having it at this point. Our waiter felt that he would get a better tip if he didn't allow the separte table tabs. Smoke drifted into our table area as we ate dessert (get the choc. pyramid) and tables were carried past us as a dining area was being readied as lounge. We are great tippers and his tip would have been larger if he had not been all about the dinero. Keep and eye to the tab if Jade is your waiter. I still love Blue, will still patronize Blue, but my eyes are open.

Crab roll good, lobster quesadilla, crab cakes, lamb chop, and surf and turf all delicious. Trendy, very nice interior. Valet and coat check. Service was very good for the first half of dinner, then as the restaurant got more crowded the service became terrible. Had to wait 15 minutes for the check. Dessert was great - caramel trio.

Blue gains all their praise from me because I went on a Thursday night during their open bar from 9 to 10:30. No cover and free drinks? Yes please! I live in Vegas and we have some incredible options for bars and lounges. I tried not to let that get in the way of my review of Blue, because it has to be taken in context. Besides, I don't think any Vegas bars have free drinks for everyone for an hour and a half on a weekly basis.

For Long Island, it's a pretty fun bar. I guess they just redid their patio, it was very nice. I liked the glowing white couch looking benches. Not the most comfortable, but there was a cool factor to them. The night started out as  bit of a sausage fest but it got better as it got later and as I got drunker. The DJ wasn't bad either. It was entertaining watching drunk people that can't dance go wild on the dance floor. The people that come here have a slight pretentiousness to them, but honestly with where I live, I'm used to it. When I first arrived, there was a good amount of older people. Then before I knew it, by my 3rd Jack and Coke, it got much younger. I guess there is food here but I didn't come to eat so I can't comment on the restaurant part of it. The bartenders move quick for how busy they are and there were some cute females serving up drinks.

I would really give this place 3 and a half stars, I would like to go back to give an even better assessment. Over all it was a great night out at probably one of the better bars on the island.

A friend took me here when I was in LI and I must admit, the fish was fresh, well prepared, and service was very good, but for me it was just OK because of the atmosphere.  Maybe it was just the night we were there, but it seemed like lots of plastic people trying to be somebody, who cares?

Blue brings NYC to LI.  Elegant dining with a hip and trendy bar, lounge, and dance floor.  It's an exciting night out every night at Blue.  The sushi is presented beautifully and tastes even better than it looks.  To start, try the Surf & Turf Roll and the High "Roll"er.  Then move onto the the Social and Solo Menus.  The Socials are trendy and delectable small plates that are great for sharing or as a small bite before you hit the dance floor.  I recommend the Kobe Flat Iron Steak, Poached Monkfish, and the Seared Sea Scallops.  Finish strong with the monster-sized Tomahawk Ribeye with the rich and creamy potato souffle.

The drinks are sexy.  Try the Blue Martini, Purple Rain, or Lust.  Then dance the night away to the sounds of the great DJs or live band on Friday nights.  You can find me there most nights of the week because I highly recommend this South Shore hot spot.

Well first off, disclosure time. I've been to this place more then a few times. Everytime I went it was very busy and reservations are a must. I find the valet parking to be a hassle considering I hate letting kids drive and park my bimmer but there is not much of a choice as usual with restaurants with little to no parking lot  You can park next door if you don't mind walking over the grass but I usually suck it up and toss the guy a five before I even go in. When I come out my car is usually right in front but I've seen them get pretty crazy moving cars around to get other cars in and such. A paragraph for valet parking LOL! On to restaurant. I think the other reviewer said it perfect when they mentioned it is a mixed crowd here. Half the people are dressed to the nines and the other half are either families, mid - late 20's couples or much older. I've heard at a certain point at night the place becomes something like a night club and I wouldn't be surprised as the atmosphere and most of the people at the bar look like they would be more suited at a night club. They finally started utilizing the outdoor area and there are really nice tables and tents outside to sit at though when we went it started pouring so I would check the weather because I don't think they did or people wouldn't be sitting out there when it all started to come down. I've been here before where the food was nothing special but the last time I went to the buffet style lobster fest it was great, for a buffet. Overall the decor is very nice and it's a great place for appearances but I wouldn't recommend it for the food aficionado as the food is OK but nothing special for the price.
