The alfajores shortbread cookie sandwiches filled with dulce de leche are the most compelling reason for my inevitable return.  It was the best shortbread I've ever had.  They are extremely sweet and would be well-paired with some strong coffee.  Also, I had the Chicharron which was good.  I am too picky maybe and would've liked a version without sweet potato, but instead more pork.  I needed to add salt as well, and eventually I asked for their chimichurri sauce to enhance it.  Still, was a neat experience and I hope to try something different next time.  I loved the alfajores so much, I made sure to take one home with me, for snacking a few hours later.

I don't doubt their meat and chicken sandwiches are excellent, but we only eat seafood, not meat, so we ordered two fish platters and both were pretty unappealing.  The fish in both had a slimy texture and the seafood sauce on one included plenty of overcooked, rubbery calamari and shrimp.  It looked like typical frozen food service stuff.  They should either serve only meat dishes or improve the quality of the seafood.  Very disappointing after reading all the good reviews.

really, really solid. The authentic peruvian potatoes with cheese sauce, served luke warm is an absolute must. sandwiches very good and large- not like crazy NY deli large, but enough to take home for later.  Good, well seasoned meat.  Very good bread.  A definite addition to my rotation.  Cheers

Yummy fish today. And something new everyday. A great place to experrience Peruvian fare right around the corner with the owner in the kitchen!

Have only been here once so far but have been meaning to go back.  The fish sandwich was great- tender, a bit salty, but not too much. Very basic but so good. The bread tasted very fresh. They also had alfajores at the time which were yummy as well.

My partner and I have eaten at Bravo! a few times now, and have enjoyed their sandwiches. We both REALLY liked the Chicharron, but on my second visit the fat on the pork wasn't as "crispy" as it should have been. We also tried the Bravo Steak with the bacon, egg and shoestring potatoes and it was good. Make sure you ask for the "green" sauce and "pink" sauces in the fridge, they're awesome condiments to the sandwiches.

We went out on a limb and tried the Papa a la Huancaina, boiled potatoes, white cheese and yellow chili cream sauce and was a little disappointed that it was served as a cold dish. I'm sure that's just the way its traditionally served, but personal preference would have been a hot version.

Overall, really good food. Kitchen takes a little bit but its all really fresh, so I can deal with the wait.

This review is written from a 1-time visitor while on vacation.

This sandwich shop was pretty tasty with an extensive menu to boot! I'm a really boring eater (no veggies, no special sauces) so I had to ask them to prepare me something that wasn't on the menu. I ordered a chicken sandwich with just chicken and cheese. Jacob ordered some type of ham sandwich.

After ordering, we took a seat and the clerk gave us our cans of Coke and a bag of chips. The food took about 10 minutes and we were the only ones there. It was served piping hot!

My chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. It had an awesome flavor and was very juicy. Many places tend to overcook chicken but Bravo does not! The bread it was served on was good too, a little crusty but soft overall.

Jacob's ham sandwich wasn't ham... or as least if it was, it didn't look like ham. It looked like turkey to me. He didn't mind and still enjoyed his meal quite a bit.

Overall, Bravo's a great little place to get a sandwich. It's got a very unique menu, so if you're picky like me, bear in mind they will happily accommodate you!

Good sandwiches, but they DO NOT deliver. I'm not sure who would ever have said they do, but that's the internet for you.

Based on previous reviews, I wasnt surprised by the shiny aluminium furniture, but do echo their sentiments...oy!

My buddy and I took a few minutes to peruse the menu.  What a selection.  Everything looked delicious.

We were met by a very cute woman behind the counter who was all smiles and happy to take our order.

Our first disappointment came when we tried to order the Beef Heart Skewers...sorry, don't remember the Spanish name.  Doesn't matter, they were out of them.  We were sad...I like to think I'm Andrew Zimmern at times.  Our cute behind-the-counter friend told us they were out with a little frown, so that took some of the sting out of it.

We decided to try 2 empanadas: 1 beef and 1 chicken.

Delicious!  The beef empanada had a sweeter flavor to it and reminded me of a picadillo-style filling.  The chicken empanada was also delicious.  Not shredded like many of the chicken empanadas that I have had in the past, but rather chunked and filled with flavor.  The crust was spectacularly light and fluffy.  Two of the best empanadas that I have ever had.

Next, we decided to follow my fellow Yelpers and try two of the sandwiches that seemed to be reviewed the most.  We tried the Chicharones and the Bravo Steak.

Let me first say, maybe the BEST sandwich bread I've ever had!  Such amazing flavor and texture.  The sandwiches were perfect size.  Just big enough to be filling without being HUGE and unfinishable.

    The Chicharones:
A mix of soft, tender pork with perfectly pickled red onions, and a soft fried slice of sweet potato.  The flavors on this sandwich danced like a perfectly moving synchronized swimming team to make the sandwich work.  I added some of the homemade hot sauce that I asked for and I was in heaven.  The hot sauce had GREAT flavor without being overwhelmingly hot.  I highly recommend it.

    The Bravo Steak:

A wonderful mix of flavors with beef that was just as tender as the pork.  Much as with the Chicharones, the Bravo Steak is full of flavors that wind together to make a perfect sandwich tapestry.  This sandwich definitely has a more bold flavor. The bacon brings a smokiness to the sandwich that blends well with richness of the creamy chimicurri sauce.  I agree with prior reviews though, ask for some extra chimi sauce.

After happily stuffing our faces like gluttonous pigs, we ended the night with some of the cookies from the jar on the counter.  They were good, sweet and buttery, but nothing special.  I'd probably forgo the $2 per cookie next time, but am glad that I tried them.

I can't wait to come back to try everything else on the menu!   I just hope next time that they don't have FOX News on the TVs...I found it hard to keep the delicious food down everytime I looked up at the TV.  Eh, next time I'll just ask them to put some real news on.

came here with the BFF to try their famous sandwiches...walking in you notice those damn aluminum chairs, peruvian music and a friendly counter chick who was very helpful and cute.... ordered lechon and bravo steak  sandwiches+ lucuma juice and a smoothie for me. Lechon had big chunks of fat in it which was a turn off spitting those pieces out. was tasty but idk if i'd order it again after the chunks de fat. Bravo steak with egg bacon and potato sticks was very tasty. Iw ish it had more creamy chimichurri sauce on it. all in all it was the only meal I ate all day bc it was that filling. hidden jem, excited to try more things next time I come.

This place is really unique. The ultra-modern atmosphere and "Peruvian" elevator music leave a bit to be desired, but the staff is great and the food is always excellent. The fried yucca is AMAZING!

Thanks Yelp, and specifically Talia G's (Peruvian native's) review, for steering me here.  The young woman working at the counter gave me plenty of help on what to order.  Going native, I ordered the traditional "chicharron" sandwich (pork chunks with sweet potato slices and onions marinated in lemon and hot peppers).  The bread was simply amazing. Slight thin crisp layer on the outside and fluffy on the inside.  The pork was rough hewn... if you like your meat lean, take it out of the sandwich, trim away the fat, and put the meat back in and enjoy.  The desserts were also awesome-- I got the alfajores (cookies) and a sweet creamy dessert with diced prunes and an English custard to pour on top.  Both were incredible.  I will definitely come here again if I'm back in town.

I really really liked this place. All the ingredients in my chicken sandwich were really good. I'm definitely coming back here and trying other things. Mmmmmm I wonder how tasty their empanadas are. :)

Service was very friendly as well. They are expanding into the next door spot and putting in a larger dining room which is good.

    Give them a try!

All thanks to yelp I have a new favorite lunch spot. Although the looks of the place can be a bit deceiving, the service was friendly and the food was outstanding. We had a beef empanada while waiting for our food to be cooked, which only took about 10 minutes. It was different than the Cuban empanadas that I'm used to but it was still very satisfying. I ordered the lomo saltado sandwich and enjoyed every bite. I loved the bread it came on. It was very tasty especially with Peruvian "green sauce" slathered on top. My husband had the bravo steak sandwhich and honestly it was probably one of the best tasting sandwiches I've had. We also shared a side of fries, had two cokes, and a delicious sugar cookie/dulce de leche treat for desert and our entire meal was less than $25. I highly recommend this place!

It was packed for lunch at 11:30 on a Sunday morning.  That and the rave Yelp reviews got me stoked.  I'm way new to food from Peru. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've never been to a restaurant dedicated to it.  This place will definitely be a stop every time I visit Fort Lauderdale now.  The meal was great.  I had the Lomo Saltado - steak marinated with tomatoes and onions with rice & fries.  But beyond that I took one previous reviewer's advice to try the Alfajores.  It looked unappetizing and I was expecting something bigger.  It was the most delicious dessert ever.  Do NOT leave this place without ordering one.  You'll be full, but it's only $2 and not huge.  Order it.  ORDER IT!!!

Had my first taste of Bravo today & was extremely satisfied! This authentic & casual hole-in-the-wall packs a punch. I had the Pollo Bravo which was basically a grilled chicken sandwich marinated in peruvian spices and quite enjoyed it. The sandwiches are huge, definitely hitting the spot. My girlfriend had one of the pork sandwiches & she said it was the best non-homemade lechon she's had in years. She's now obsessed with this place. Don't be fooled by their name, though you order at a counter & get your drink from a fridge, they have regular entrees (that are pretty sizable) as well as sandwiches so this would be a suitable dinner place as well. I'll definitely be back to try more sandwiches & dishes.

    My short winded review:

    Pros:
lechon! lechon! lechon! (i guess you know what i ordered)
    amazing peruvian sandwiches-  fresh ingredients
    fresh bread
    cheap ($7-10 pp)
    small space
    friendly service

    cons:
    none

Can't understand why people would eat fast food, supermarket heros, etc. when places like this exist.

    Go! You wont be disappointed.

It's always a pleasure to 'discover' an unknown gem and I would give this small 'sandwich' shop 5 stars except for 3 reasons: 1) I HATE the latest rage among restaurants of aluminum tables and chairs just as I have gotten tired of all 'up scale' restaurants having white square plates 2) there is not full service as one has to place their order at the register and get their own drink 2) the restaurant is misnamed as it has many  dinner plates.
I am not all familiar with Peruvian food and when I came across a deal paying half we decided to try it. Bravo is in one of the  thousands on shopping strips in Fort Lauderdale with a bright, attractive window and the inside pleasantly decorated with one wall completely mirrored and the opposite wall with pictures of their food.
Not knowing what to order we asked the hostess/server/cashier to suggest a sandwich and platter that we can share and she did suggest 2 good items.
We first had a lechon pork sandwich ($7.50) made of pork, criolla, olive and rocoto sauce served on an excellent toasted roll and it was very tasty.
Next we had Lomo Satado ($10.95) made up of beef tenderloin strips sauteed in onions, tomatoes and French fries served with white rice. The dish was completely empty when we got finished.
Along with our meal Allen had a can of Fanta orange soda ($1.50) and I, going along with the try something new idea, had Inca Cola which was very sweet.
With tax and tip, before discount, our total was $26, certainly average for lunch but this was an above tasting lunch and I recommend it to anyone who has never had Peruvian food or just wants good food!

I saw the great reviews and decided to try it out. It was totally awesome. I had the Cuban sandwich. Each of my friends had a different sandwich and really enjoyed them. I am adding this to the rotation.

I was a bit skeptical when I heard this was a Peruvian sandwich place... Being actually from Peru, I have some pretty high standards for when I try "my" food outside of that country. But, Bravo did not disappoint. I ordered the traditional "chicharron" sandwich (grilled pork chunks with fried sweet potato patties and onions marinated in lemon and hot peppers). I know, sounds weird, but it's GOOD.

Final verdict : authentic Peruvian sandwiches at fair prices. I'm totally coming back!

Though it is located in one of those junkie looking little has been strip malls, it isn't in a bad neighborhood. It's small, very small, but then it is basically a sandwich shop. You go the counter, place our order, grab a drink from the cooler and then someone brings your food out to you. You'll have to ask for eating utensils, cups or any special sauces as they aren't openly available at the counter. The menu contains daily specials which are also written on a board in front. As for the cooler there are some interesting soft drinks such as Inca Kola, a light yellow, rather refreshing drink but not to be at all confused with a Cola was we would know it in the United States.

The flavors of their preparations are Peruvian and they are delicious. The only downside to some, such as their pork, is that they fail to trim off the fat so that, more than likely, you will end up with a mouth full of pork fat. Their sandwich bread they use is perfect and very much unlike the huge carbohydrate bread over doses most sandwich shops give you.

They also have a rather good ceviche as well as other good assortments with a Peruvian base to them.

The seating area is small with sort of silver metal like tables and additional napkins. There is nothing special or unique about the establishment, setting or atmosphere. The entire attraction for the place is in the flavor and quality of their sandwich and their low price. Last time there I had a very good tasting pork sandwich, an Inca Kola, hand the clerk a Hamilton ten, left a $1.00 tip and still walked out with a couple of cents in my pocket.

OMG! The strip shopping center is a bit seedy but when you walk in, the delicious aroma of food hits you like a hot tamale(by the way it was delicious!). They make pork sandwiches just like my mama used to make! Run to this place for great peruvian sandwiches. Loved the "lomo saltado" sandwiches. Can't wait to try their ceviches! Yummy!

I had a Pavo which is an actual turkey breast sandwich and really it was fabulous. I love sandwiches and this was one of the best I've ever had..

so i originally bookmarked this place over two years ago when i first read about it. i had visited once before but never wrote a review. since i was gonna be in the neighborhood today i decided to drop by for a taste.

bravo is a tiny restaurant with only a half dozen or so tables. you order at the counter and sit down for a few minutes before your food is delivered to you, and you pay your check at the counter when you're done.

the specials board outside had a number of meals on there, but i had come for a sandwich and a sandwich i would have.

i opted for the pollo bravo, which had chicken breast marinated in peruvian spices, bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, provolone cheese and mayo. served on crusty bread, i could smell the deliciousness as my plate was placed before me.

this sandwich was delicious! the bacon wasn't too crispy and melted into each warm bite of chicken, cheese and onion. each bite released tender juices, which were soaked up by the crusty bread. this caused each bite to be more flavorful then the last, and before i knew it i had scarfed down the entire meal. wouldn't have minded some sort of side with the sandwich, but i'm not gonna complain too much since the sandwich was the bomb!

i definitely plan on heading back soon, as there were a number of other sandwiches that tickled my fancy.

    recommended!

Small place, lots of charm, very friendly staff...don't be off put by the exterior as it is relatively nondescript. Hubby and I tried the pork and turkey sandwich per the recommendation of the person taking our order. We also tried their chicken and beef empanadas with the olive sauce while we waited for our order to go. Interesting flavor combination of the beef empanadas as there is a dusting of powdered sugar on top. The sandwiches are large and I don't know exactly what is going on with the flavor combination of the sauces, cilantro, meat, onions, etc---but it is magical. I couldn't finish my sandwich as the chunks of meat are large (and maybe because I ate an empanada as an appetizer).  We will definitely be back.

cute little place in wilton manors with a good sandwhich selection such as the cuban or the turkey (which is what i ordered)... comes with chunks of fresh turkey meat and an onion sauce with additional onions on top (i had to remove some of those because it was a bit too oniony for me, but still very good)... this was all put on a slightly toasted warm bread.. was tasty.  i also ordered a cafe con leche, passion fruit juice in a bottle, and a chicken empenada for later (they're cute because they're shaped like a boob with a nipple on top ~~ i guess they often get comments on their funny shape!)  nice people working here... all with a smile.  will be sure to pop by again when in the neighborhood.

okay. This Peruvian sandwich place is the bomb. If you like a pork bomb.  And I do. Ive tried several of the other plates and sandwiches and all good, but the The Bravo pork sandwich is my favorite and its juicy and flavorful . I ask for a side of the Ajo Amarillo, which is wicked spicy and get the ceviche with this. Dont think you can finish it all. The sandwich($8 +-) and the ceviche($10) are more than enough for two. And you MUST save room for the Alfajores...two barely sweet shortbread cookies, dusted with powdered sugar and glued together with dulce de leche...$2 trip to heaven. Made locally too.
Big tip--dip the sandwich into the citrusy ceviche juice...unbelievable.
good frozen smoothies too. Me gusta pina!(pineapple for you gringos)

Once again, thank you Yelp!!! We were looking for a sandwich to have for Sunday lunch, but as I reviewed all of the usual menus and options they are always the same boring thing, we wanted to try something new so I took to Yelp and to my surprise found Bravo! Gourmet Sandwiches, I quickly looked up their website and found that they were named New Time's Best Sandwich for 2010! I had never even heard of this place, so we thought we should check it out.

Let's cut to the chase, the sandwiches were amazing!!!!!! We ordered the Pork Sandwich and the Bravo steak sandwich. The Bravo steak consisted of sirloin steak, bacon, cheese, egg and super thin shoestring fries, just out of this world! The bread was divine, soft in middle, crusty on the outside and so fresh! The meat was tender and juicy and the sauces were very bold but blended perfectly with the other ingredients.  The Pork Sandwich was also very tasty, perfectly seasoned chunks of pork, same homemade big bun of freshly baked bread, thinly cut red onions and whatever other delicious sauces they add, just phenomenal!

We ordered to go, the staff was very pleasant, the place was clean and had several tables and a flat screen for people staying in.  I can't wait to go back and try some of the other sandwiches on the menu.

After hearing about this on YELP  of course, I thought ok let me see what the deal is.
At first I was like wait a second this dive? in the store front i am not sure about this now.
Well boy was I wrong, the strong red walls hit you the second you walk in, but then the small menu makes you think there isnt much to this place.

I ordered the Steak Bravo sandwich...well who knew, eggs bacon and steak was a winning combo
My parents ordered the Cuban..so that great..

But mine was unreal  for 7.50 a pop you better bring it.

Lord I will pay 7.50  over and over to have that.

Would go back for the pork next time..

Ever since I was in the Barranco district of Lima earlier this year and a friend from there took us to a sandwich shop where I had the best pork sandwich I've ever tasted, I've been craving another one. While obviously nothing here in the US would compare, Bravo! makes really good sandwiches. I read about this place on Yelp (thanks, Yelpers) and also read a favorable review in a local newspaper, so I had to try it.

I had the Lechon sandwich ($6.50) which is "juicy young pork, criolla sauce, olive sauce and rocoto sauce" on fresh bread. I know, it's a lot of sauce, maybe too much and they top it with a LOT of onions, but the bread was soft and delicious and the pork was amazing. It was a nice size sandwich, tasty and well-worth $6.50. I was able to finish the whole thing but left stuffed.

My lady (from Peru) had the Bravo Steak sandwich ($7.50), which is grilled beef sirloin steak w/ bacon, cheese, egg and potato shoestring. She said it was made similar to how she has had it in Peru. She said it was OK, which means it was good, because I think she was comparing it to food back home. I tried a bite and liked it, although I preferred my pork sandwich instead. She could only eat half of it, and they gave us a brown bag so she could take the rest home.

For an appetizer, we had a papa rellena ($3.99), which is different from the Cuban version I've had many times, because the Peruvian one is baked instead of fried on the outside. To tell you the truth, I didn't like it much, and my girlfriend said she didn't think it was that good either. Even so, it's a sandwich shop so I think if you stick with the sandwiches, you'll be pleased. Next time I am going to try the "Butifarra" sandwich, which is Peruvian ham with criolla sauce, lettuce and mustard/mayo sauce.

Prices are good, the employees are nice, the restaurant is brand new so it is clean and comfortable inside (although not very big) they have a nice flat screen TV playing music videos, Inca Kola ($1.50) in the fridge, etc. I hope to return to Bravo soon.

A fantastic find!  They just opened one month ago and feature sandwiches with a Peruvian twist.  They also have tradition Peruvian empanadas, ceviche, etc.  Unlike any sandwich shop I've ever been to.   Rather small with counter seating and one table.  Try it!
