Brazilian Bowl

My husband's family is from Brazil, so whenever we hit up a Brazilian joint we are looking for authenticity and are pretty tough critics.  This place definitely hits the mark!  We visited the place with his family who grew up in Brazil and were delighted to have some REAL legit feijoada...not just the measly kinds with beans and rice, but with ample chunks of meat and sausage in it!  Came with some perfect, garlicky shredded collard greens (couve), the brazilian vinaigrette, farofa, and even the orange slice as a nice freshening of the palette!  We REAAAALLLY enjoyed their coxinha....had them at other joints in Chicago and the filling was not quite up to par....Brazilian Bowl's coxihna had a great ratio of super tasty filling!  Pastels were also faaaabulous....beef, hearts of palm....not quite as big as you would get in Brazil, but sooo good still....not too greasy and a nice thin crisp dough on the outside.  Owners and cooks are from Brazil, so we knew it would be legit!

Apart from the food, my husband was also delighted to find that they sold some little Brazilian grocery items....he picked up a few rolls of the Nestle Bono cookies in Dulce de Leche flavor.  Definitely a re-visit!

Absolutely AMAZING -- Huge portions - Healthy Delicious food! I've been in Lakeview 12 yrs and this is the BEST addition to the neighborhood.  Best disj : TURKEY BOWL - Fresh carved TURKEY. One day try Brazilian Bowl - you will be hooked (only down side is their brazil sodas are almost 3.00) --- Nice staff too! Huge healthy portions.

This place is AWESOME. They have all my favorites (I almost always get feijoada, but sometimes I get adventurous) along with traditional sodas (guarana anyone?) and desserts. The prices are very reasonable and the service is always fast. There's not a ton of seating, so I would recommend coming in smaller groups...

When I need my brazilian food fix, this is always where I go. I'll definitely keep going back!
