I suggested we get some brewskis to rehydrate (heh) after a sweltering day outside and before our dinner reservations down the street, so my +1 and I stopped in here.
I expected a dive, as I-love-me-some-dives. Â Normally they appreciate the people, they're non-discriminatory and fun, and you get decent service. Â There were 6-7 locals around the bar, one bartender, and the TVs. Â Sure, alright: exactly what I expected.
My +1 wanted to sit in view of the TVs to catch the game, but there were some dirty glasses and a tip where we wanted to sit. Â It took the bartender, who was just standing there not doing anything, a second to figure out to clear it off. Â So we sat and ordered. Â No beer specials - just $3 taps of Miller and Bud, and $4.50 for Blue Moon. Â
Ehh, the bar was dirty. Â Sticky with crumbs all around. Â I had to sweep them to the side with my used and half--soggy beer coaster. Â
The whole time we were there (20-30 minutes), she didn't make one move to at least wipe down the bar. Â Nope...just played on her phone and talked to the locals.
Seriously? Â It takes 2 seconds to wipe down the bar - THEN you can get back to your phone. Â Oy.
The Bringer Inn is a pretty decent dive and sports bar hybrid. This is a drinking only review.
Cigar shaped bar with some high tables and a separate dining area of low tables. The venue has plenty of television screens to catch sports and even horse racing! Decor is pretty sports theme oriented, pretty dated and some quirkiness.
The crowd a combination of 40's to 50's locals with a sprinkling of mid-20's, plus a number of folks waiting for Pequods.
Beer range is pretty average with a couple of German options on draft.
Extensive pub style menu with reasonable prices.
Service pretty good.
I have been to this bar twice before. Keep going back because we like to support our Village. Â Nothing impressive about the place. Â We went this past Wednesday to watch the last half of the bull's game. Â It was truly a horrible experience. Â Not sure if the weekly baseball, football or some other type of league goes there every Wednesday night. Â That group basically took over the bar, we could not watch the game if our lives depended on it..... so many big guys and big women standing around talking and blocking the TV monitors. Â Try getting a drink or food!! The kid waitress had her hands full and did not really know how to wait on tables or probably just did not care. Â After a very frustrating 20 minutes, we had a drink and left . Â Never really got to see the game. Â Good Old Boy Bar for sure. Â Cheers of Morton Grove, never, Cheers was a clean and nice bar. Â This is just an old place for the neighborhood drunks.
Review Source:Oh the Bringer. Well, what can I say. It's the Cheers of Morton Grove. Oh the nights I've spent in the back room amongst my drunken compadres, talking about this or that. Pitchers of beer, bar food, pool table, locals--this pace has it all. There's even a gated outdoor area to sit. Yes, it's not the most hoity-toity place in the world, but the service is good, the people are nice, the faces are familiar. What more is there?
Review Source:Sometimes you wanna go where everyone knows your name, and that is just what you'll get here! They have a full menu and homemade pizzas! The beer is cheap and you don't get stiffed on the liquor, but be warned your drink might be stiff! They have over 30 bottles of beer to choose from! The atmosphere is extremely relaxed. They have over 12 HD TVs and get all the games, Anything you want just ask! The Bartenders are great! On Sat. nights there are some smoking hot Ladies working! I give it my seal of approval!
Review Source:Since my last review and the many many times I've dined at Pequod's; this Morton Grove hole in the wall bar known as Bringer Inn has started to grow on me. The crowd hasn't changed much, although its surprising to see some hot Milfs in here once in a great while. Â This change could be, because of the recent number of newly built condos and townhouses nearby. Service is still about the same, slow, but... when making requests to watch something on TV or in the past when I've wanted to catch an HBO special with friends, they had been accommodating. Â As of recently, they have gotten rid of HBO and Showtime. Â It's an okay bar at best.
Review Source:If Cheers were a real bar this would honestly be it. Â Everyone knows your name. Â However, you do have to go in there more than once, but if you go there once, the locals won't forget you. Â It is a mix of younger and older crowd which is always interesting!
It isn't fancy, but the drinks are cheap and the people are nice. Â The pizza is amazing and cheap as well!
Went into this place after closing pequod's pizza (next door)with a bunch of friends and waited for what felt like forever to get a drink . Went back another time and the same wait. After bringing this up at another establishment in the area we find out that's the way it's always been there , they only like to cater to their local regulars. The only reason for the 1 star rating is that I couldn't give them a zero rating.
