We SO wanted to like this place -- the renovations are great and the area is crying out for a decent pub. Â But we've been there a half dozen times since last fall and it is getting worse, not better. Â The pizza is decent, as long as you're willing to wait an hour for it. Â We waited over an hour for A BURGER in a 25% full place at 7:30p on a Thursday before cancelling after being told that the kitchen was backed up due to delivery orders. Â The service is terrible -- the staff are either untrained or unwilling to give a darn. Â The bar either doesn't have any wine or only has one bottle -- for the entire night. Â Either wine drinkers aren't their target demographic or they have bad inventory control. Â On the good side, the place is clean and there are lots of screens for watching sports. Â With Smoque just up the block still drawing lines 5 years after opening, clearly there is a great opportunity to capture a regular crowd. Â But this isn't the way to do it. Â A shame, really.
Review Source:Guys, I'm pretty impressed. Me and my guy ordered delivery from here. We got cheese curds, their mondo fries, and a pan cheese pizza. The cheese curds were more like hush puppies, but muy tasty. The fries were super spicy, with big ol hunks of bacon, and the pizza was KILLER.
Points off cause the bacon was not crispy, the "curds" were supposed to come with marinara and didn't, and the fries needed salt. But overall, I'll definitely order from here again!
I was at Brudders on a Sunday to watch some football with my boyfriend. The place is really nice and clean, so is the women's bathroom! My boyfriend ordered the mudder burger, it was big,  juicy and tasty. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich which initially I was a bit confused/annoyed by since it didn't look like a regular buffalo chicken sandwich, the chicken was grilled chicken strips smothered in buffalo sauce on French bread with lettuce, tomato and some kind of dressing (not sure if it was ranch or blue cheese). The menu said it had Swiss cheese but my sandwich did not. Well I bit into it and was pleasantly surprised, it was really good! Service was initially  slow but there was only one bartender and I believe the owner was there for a bit (he took our order when he saw we had been waiting a while). I'm not giving it 4 or 5 stars because I'd like to come back a few times to try other food items. All in all I would recommend this place based on cleanliness and food.
Review Source:My husband and I stopped into this bar after passing it by almost everyday. Â Stepping into the bar was a pleasant surprise. Â From the outside, I always imagined it was a seedy, dive bar, but I suppose appearances can be deceiving. Â The drinks were made really well. Â The bar was much larger than I expected, has great service, plenty of seating area, and even a pool table. Â If you live in the area, definitely a great neighborhood spot.
Review Source:Not a good place at all both big an jr bobby were rude and talk about wanna be ghetto this place needs to be shut Down for good had a pizza was all burnt didn't even bother eating it threw it all out drinks tasted bad I was a bartender for 7 years and these guys def water down there booze never also had a stake witch by the way the have frozen and they cook it in the microwave not good also had a burger witch was suppose to be fresh we'll guess what it was still frozen in the middle yuck!!!!!dont go here I think your better of eating from 7 eleven lol....
Review Source:This place was a dump before, super ghetto. Â After new owners and management kicked in (Bobby Sr) this place is AWESOME! Close to my house and definitely going on, on the weekends! I've hosted 2 parties here and Bobby the owner was awesome accomodating us. Â FOOD is OUTSTANDING! The bartenders are all wonderful gals...friendly, courteous, and attentive! DJ on the weekends is superb...non stop dancing! Can't rave enough about this place! Oh and there's no cover to go in on Fridays or Saturdays and dance your butt off as though your at a club, minus the club prices!
Review Source:Brudders is a great neighborhood place - the new management has done a great job! Â It is spotless inside and out and there is plenty of live music and excellent "Chicago" trivia every month. Â Bobby (the manager) has a great eye for bartending talent - Erica, Yadi, Ingrid, Eda, etc., etc. - all have personality like crazy and are ON IT when you need a fresh cold one. Â Bright and sunny during the day with the windows looking on to Pulaski and lit up at night - not dark and dingy. Â Great beer selection and very, VERY good food - love the loaded potato skins!! Â Nice to see a great corner bar get new life - and have it done the right way!!
Review Source:I wanted to like this place since the options for food in the immediate area are kind of slim. Â I don't actually drink alcohol, so I'm reviewing this place on its food and service. Â We ended up waiting over an hour to receive our food, even though there weren't many people there at the time. Â I think they forgot about our order. Â I ordered a burger and soda. Â The soda machine wasn't working so it tasted off and they also ended up charging for a refill. Â The burger was okay but the fries were pretty bland.
On the plus side, the interior is nice and you could tell the people working there were trying to make things right. Â I'm sure it's a great place if you're just wanting to drink, but you should probably avoid if you're looking for food. Â Smoque is right up the street...
I must say this review is not a comprehensive Brudders review and I hope to go back there and enjoy the bar. I stopped by for a slice of pizza off their "Mudders" window. We are in a fortunate place in Chicago for pizza so I have to be honest here. That pizza make Sbarro's taste great. It was a reheated piece for $5. I recommend the 7 eleven across Pulaski for a frozen microwave pizza next time. I was hoping that this could be a late night slice joint for me. Nope. Not even close.
Review Source:I was very excited to find out that Brudders' was a nice place to go but tonight I learned differently...
Tonight my husband and I were on our evening stroll after dinner. We decided to stop in at 7-11 for a choco taco and as we passed by Brudders' Sports Bar we saw my sister and our friend sitting at the bar. So we stopped in to say hello and check out the newly renovated place. We were not in there for more than 5 minutes before the owner Bobbypicked a fight with my husband. He told him that he needed to put the choco taco away to which he responded kindly by telling him that he was eating it. (He had 2 bites left). Then Bobby kept asking him if he was "okay" insinuating that he was drunk or on drugs. I was standing there with him and I am VERY pregnant and we were clearly VERY sober. After he tried to assure him that he was fine and I said "we aren't drinking man, I am obviously pregnant. Look at me" Bobby continued to treat my husband as if he was being unreasonable and under the influence. Jared just stared at him and he ended up kicking us out of the bar. It was so offensive and embarrassing. We left without causing a scene, but if you want my opinion do NOT go into Brudders. They profile people for no reason and the owner is a complete JERK.
So happy to finally have new owners at this neighborhood bar. It has finally turned into a chill neighborhood spot to walk to- with a decent beer selection (which I believe will only get better with time!) Â The owner- Bobby- is so nice and receptive to ideas. Â I asked him to get some craft beers in, and upon my next visit- there was a case of one of my favorite beers ready to drink! The chicken wings are yummy- and the burgers are great. Â The staff is learning as they go- but are awfully sweet. Â I suggest all of you neighborhood folk head over for a drink or some bar food so that we can keep this place headed in the right direction!
Review Source:My friends and I went here for girls night a few weeks ago on a friday night and we were pleasantly surprised! It cost $5 to get in and they had $5 dollar you call it's. Def the cheapest girls night we've ever had!! The music is poppin, and the owner at least I think he was the owner was so sweet! He gave us all a free coronaaaaa!! Nothing beats a free drink :) ..and we ran into one of our old H.S teachers there and the bar was closing and security was yelling to get out, but the guy who hooked it up with the beer was like it's OKAY let them talk they aren't hurting anybody!
Review Source:I like this place soley based on the fact that it invites you and your company to enjoy just that....yourself and your company. The time I was in there: Met the DJ, bar tender and owner and was invited to join pool leauge, taught 3 new pool tricks, got plenty "giddy" for a low low cost(some free). Probably the nicest bunch of guys you can meet on any Chicago street. I really felt welcomed there. Not just becuz it was empty..
Neighborhood bars like this need to stay open for people like me who don't like trendy, foo-foo over-priced crap. But can appreciate free pool real people.
I f you sit by the window  people in traffic will think you are important. Something about this bar stands out among other neighborhood bars, but I just can't place it. Must be the big window corner bar look I like. The only good thing about this place is its cool corner location as the place is nothing special. It is not a dive bar, but it is not a classic either. Just a good normal bar .
Review Source:Pleasantly Surprised!!! When myself and my other Mid 30's Girlfriends want to meet up with others to just have drinks.. We always end up here.. it's like a Modern Day "Cheer's" Bar with a Twist. the music is diverse.. From Salsa.. to Hip Hop.. or some other Hip Dance tune... there is a pool table towards the back of the bar.. the drinks are VERY reasonable .. and you can just relax.. .. When All Else Fails.. This place is GREAT!
Review Source:You never know what you're going to get. Â I've been going for years after a league I play in the area and at first we went because they had the BIG Corona bottles for $5 -- it was OUTSTANDING. Â Then they ran out and kept saying they "just ran out" until they dropped the charade and said they don't have them (even though the advertisement for them was still outside). Â Anyway, now we pay any where between $3 and $4 for a regular Corona depending on who is working and if we go before or after league. (so 6PM versus 9PM). Â It's bizarre.
Also the music is either off or deafening. Â They finally put a new floor in so that's a plus, but there's no hot water in the lady's room which is weird, but it's a dive so what do you really expect?!
