I love where I grew up.
I love Buckram Stables. Â I've been going here since I was a teensy tiny kid with new tastebuds.
The burgers here are off the hook. Â They're always cooked perfectly - and they're BIG. Â My pops is a regular for the cheese and mushroom and onion topping, but I'm a straight up buckram burger kinda gal. Â They have some delicious soups, and fries...they're waffle fries. Â Waffle fries. Â
Its small and quaint, and sometimes you're going to have to wait, but this place is a staple in my small little town. Â Don't try parking on Forest ave, just cause its a little tight and if you make the Locust Valley Lock Jaw peeps rockin out in their Astons, they ain't gona be happy. Â Park in the back. Â Or park down the block and walk over - if its nice out. Â Stop at the stores, look at stuff you probably can't afford, and get a burger. Â
You may have to wait, but it'll be worth it. Â waffle fries.
Good burgers, thats it. Â Service is generally alright, once had an unpleasant experience with a waiter, so I left a 2 dollar tip. Â The manager came over and noted i didnt leave enough, so asked for my 2 dollars back and put that towards a pack of cigarettes, which frankly have more flavor than most of their items on the menu. Â Ill still go back for the burgers, but.....that's it
Review Source:It is not a big restaurant but they have a solid clientele so you need to either be willing to wait to be seated or go in off times. You can call before and see if their is a wait or not.
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Â The best thing to order is their buckram burgers served on an english muffin. Â It is yummy. Â
I think their price is average for what they serve and their staff is attentive. Â A solid choice for a night where you just want to eat out and have no idea where to go.
Seems a little overpriced. Â I enjoyed the local feel of the restaurant but it seemed like the restaurant was trying to be more than really was. Â Everything on the menu is way overpriced for the quality of food. Â Too bad :-/.
PS, I have since changed my rating to 3 stars. Â After being in locust valley for a little bit, I realize its just part of the culture of the area to make a reservation even if it is empty. Â The food is good but is just a little overpriced. Â If you want decent food and don't mind paying a little more than you want to... this place isn't bad.
This is one of my favorite dining spots near my home town. Â It is a pub like atmosphere, small, and usually very busy. Â Someone noted that they do not take reservations, but that is not correct. Â I always make reservations before I go since it is hard to get a table here.
Their food has always been yummy and a pretty decent large menu to choose from. Â Service has always been great.
My family and I often enjoy a meal at Buckram together. The restaurant is small and often crowded, and they don't take reservations so it's something to bear in mind before heading over for dinner. However, the food is always delicious and the service is excellent. American style food.
